It's not going to become a movie cuz mkA is like trilogy..There is no stoy to it until the next game comes out. Most of the endings in MkA are or look like cancoon endings. I'm not saying its a bad game it SWEET! but make it in to a Movie? Remeber the 2end mk movie? *Screams in pain*

However i think that Panos have a great idea:it wil be very hard to make a more 60 characters,but i think that will be fine.
A lot of people hated Annhiliatiojn because use too much MK characters,instead of the first movie that use just six or seven characters.
I thin that all needed is just some good dialogue and scenes(ALSO FOR FEW MINUTES)per characters in this way we can describe a lot of characters making they appear for just few minutes.
However MkArmageddon storyline is not caonical,but this doesn't means that we can't have a movie based on Deadly Alliance where compairs alos other characters like Sektor and Smoke missing in DA.

Actually, thats exactly right, everything is just rumours. There is NO..confirmation on anything at this point. Except the fact that the movie has been announced and thats it, a script has not been finalized yet.

I think they should just make a movie based on a hybrid of the games' stories. Shinnok was banished to the netherealm so he can use Quan Chi to get out. Since he is been in Hell he can now aquire his video game look. Meanwhile Quan Chi could plan to use Shinnok's new rise of power to revive the great Dragon King, and while that is going on Taven and Daegon are awakened to stop Blaze. They could easily just not make any specific references to the last movie and just make it general enough to where any viewer could watch it and know what is going on. I think it would work. They could easily make Sub ZEro now be the hero since he barely had lines in the last film. His brother who was killed can now be Noob Saibot and work for him and that be one of the fights. and since many fighters were never mentioned by name they could easily be in a future movie. IE Mileena, Smoke, cyrax, or whatever. Altho...I think they should just focus on characters who had smaller roles in the last films and some of the newer cool ones, like Kung Lao, Tanya, Fujin, Li Mei, Frost, Sub Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, C/khameleon (yes I said it), moloch, kintaro. Really they have lots of material to make a script from. I could probably write one in a day even just based on cannon stories. They really could make this a blockbuster.

Dude that was movie of the year worthy. lol. anyway i just hope they don't sctrew this movie up like annhiliation. Sub got screwed in that movie. the icon of mortal kombat and some jobber like motaro got more screen time then him. Hes been in what, 3 games and in armageddon they took half of his body off. Sub Zero has been in every game . EVERY.....GAME. Liu Kang has even missed a game.and yes i am excluding special forces because i dont think it had anything to do with fighting and i heard it sucked....majorly? Sub Zero even had his own game Mythologies. although I heard it sucked, i never played it. he even made it to a midway baseball game as a special team you can unlock along with the scorpion team. if they do make an mk 3 movie Sub Zero should be the hero. And scorpion should get a major part as well. I dont think armageddon would make a good movie because of the number of characters. they should make the movie based on events in between deception and armageddon.
Sub Zero should face noob at the end of the movie for the freedom of smoke. smoke gets transformed back into a human.

I think there is both the possibility for a movie from Armageddon, as well as a potential TV series. the stories it could tell are limitless

By the way, there's rumors going around that Quentin Tarantino is in talks do direct. If he doesn't do it though, there's rumors that the most likely candidate is Sam Raimi. Just rumors though, take them with a grain of salt. Rumor has it that you should take it with a grain of sugar, though.

I know if I was in charge of creating a movie based on MKA, I would have to be given freedom to change a lot of things.

I still think it would be a great move to make a TV series that follows MK's storyline.

Rumors are just that. Unless there is some sembalence of credibility behind whereever you found this supposed rumor (ie. posted on a somewhat reputable website, or hinted/mentioned by someone who is associated)...consider it bullshit.

There's also a distinct difference between "rumors" and "wishful thinking". Just FYI.

Well, I thought I'd drop in for once and give my 2 cents...

If I were to make Armaggeddon into a movie.... I'd definitely cut out most of the characters. Because there's 62 odd characters or so, a movie with ALL of them would have Annihilation making more sense. I'd focus on Taven, building upon his story and adding in more personality and maybe some inner struggles, or at least some flaw with his character. And then the other Earthrealm warriors as well.... maybe meeting up and having Taven leading them to the Pyramid. The story would end with tying up loose ends in the storyline, with Taven defeating Blaze, and Liu Kang defeating Raiden to take his place.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. But I would definintely include all the characters at the end in a battle similar to the opening CGI of the game. It would be rather interesting to see a more juiced up, 20-minute battle with all the characters.

P.S. -- in regard to the above statement, in response to anyone who would argue that "not all the audience would know who they are..." I have only this to say.... The Star Wars movies have so many characters in each movie that come on and off screen that no one stops to ask "Who was that?" Yet, almost everybody in those movies has a backstory due to the 'Expanded Universe'. Also, using something along the lines of the voice over from the CGI would give an excellent quick explaination to all the characters. Just stating that these are all the Kombatants, and that like "moths to flames, they shall be drawn to battle".

That's a great idea if you want to see your characters get crapped on. I'd rather not have a cool character in a movie at all than to see him as just another moth.

If MK:A became a movie, the actor who played as Sindel in Annialation should be in. She did a good job as Sindel. They better make some adjustmensts to Shao Khan's mask. Khan's mask looked like a halloween mask from that store "Party Box". And i'm suggesting that not everyone will have time to have their own major fights, if everyone in MK:A is in.

I will like to see a MKA movie but it wil be very long and confusing since there is a lot of characters and a lot of sub plots. IF they were to make a movieit will eather be bases on Taven in Konquest mode or Liu Kang since he is the main guy in MK.

I think it would be an awsome if they made it in to a movie they should use the Konquest mode all they way to where blaze is explaining to taven and deagon that the Kombatants are fighting and then show the part in the begining where all the charecters are fighting then go back to konquest and instead of doing nothing the armor would get rid of all the kombatants powers.or maybe the pyramids levels can be parts in konquest mode
like the lowest level would be the forest part in konquest
the second level would be the ice place and so on.
i think that either one of those would be a VERY awesome movies or you could put both together again either way awsome.

I don't think a Movie of MKA would be good as it is not at all canonical to the main MK story. For instance, take a look at the openings for MKDA and MKD: MKDA continues from scorpion's ending from MK4, thus making it canonical, then MKD's opening is clearly continuing from MKDA, making it canonical. If people didn't like the game, then I don't think the movie will be any better. The amount of characters, I'm not sure as there was a street fighter live action movie that featured just about all the characters from the game(thought I'm not sure how it did),so who knows? Anyhow, thats just my opinion. If there even is gonna be a MK movie, then it should stick with the canonical storyline and game basis, like the first one did mostly (though the part about Liu Kang's brother dying or even having a brother I don't remember).
