Well most likely he will start the movie alive. If they continue on from either the end of MK1 OR MKA, he was alive and champion at the end of both.
All depends on whether Robin Shou reprises the role, or declines it...

About the release date, well I don't think they've even started filming yet, so don't expect to see it til '06

I hope they don't pull another Johnny Cage and kill him in the first five minuets of the movie. I think he should die a champions death at the end of the movie while fighting.
