I'm guessing that Sonya and Jax will return. So will Scorpion and Sub-Zero. I'm probably thinking Kitana, Mileena, Tanya, Kenshi, Quan-Chi, Shinnok, Shang-Tsung. will probably be in the movie.

I hope that they try to limit their number of characters this time.

I believe i read somewhere that the next movie is based on the latest game!
So i would suspect that Sub, raiden, Sonya,scorp and Jax are a given, with Quan as a baddy! Though kano, shang tsung cage would be hard to use, as they're dead! However Cyrax could've been rebuilt!
I'd also expect Reptile, mavado, kitana, possibly the Oni too, it'd be interesting to see Blind kenshi appear also!
I think the story too deadly alliance has a very solid plot which could be easily transferred to a movie! But these are merely my opinions! Is there anything official about the movie online yet?

Cage came back in games, so I'd expect him. Well,I don't like people walking back, but meh.

Scorpion and Sub for sure but i heard a rumor that Cage will return as a bad guy helping Quan-Chi.We will see.

First, its obvious that: Liu, Sonya, Kitana and Jax are comming back. Its almost SURE that Cage, will also come back. they are the MAIN good guys.

Its also obvious that Scor and Sub will be back, but i think, they wont play any big role, they will be like in the first Mk movie.

And BTW, we can ALL expect the movie to be based in MKDA for 2 things:

1-The Mk movie was based on: Mk1 and Mk2 games.
The MKA movie was based on Mk2, Mk3 and a bit on the Mk4 game.

2-MKDA has a very deep and original story. An andefitable army, a deadly alliance, a Dragon King...etc. If this movie hits big, expect a Mk4 movie. The return of the Dragon king, or wait till the Mk6 game is out, then the 3rd movie will be done.

I think they'll base the third movie on MKDA storylines...maybe we'll see all characters from the latest game.

there was that rumour that a character will die in MK3.

And liu kang died in MKDA.And MKDA followed a slightly simimlar storyline o mk1. for example, raider raises that ship from the ocean in which the earth warroirs travel on, they go to shang tsungs old island.

I think it was said that they want to try and top the first one, and therefore maybe go back to old terrirotry in new ways.
It might eve follow the MK:DA storyline. That would be pretty ok i think.... well nearly

yeah, but remember, ANYTHING can change, all the movie sites sayd that. If the movie is in produccion, they can easily add or take things away. Or even remake.

I dont think Sub will be. Hes one of the most popular ones, but, he dosent play an IMPORTANT role in any of the games. Its more OBVIOUS that Kung Lao will take his place, or even Kenshi (if he comes to the movie), casue, it cooler to see blind man hero.

I doubt Sub in the movies will play the role of the main characters. He sure will join the team, but will be less focused then the others.

Hopefully the producers will have more sense than basing the film on the game series. It should follow on from the previous two, not be completely unrelated to them.
As much as we fans would love to see new characters, insane plots and scenarios built from game happenings, we need to remember the "dated" audience. Some people enjoy fighting films but might not be up to scratch with the whole Mortal Kombat story. The first film was highly filtered, introducing characters slowly and easily. The second was a character orgy! All these unknown ninjas were popping up like madness, and fans of the first were confused and bored.
I have mentioned in past threads that I would like to see the little characters from Mortal Kombat returning. If Shang Tsung stays dead, Quan Chi or another villian could resurrect warriors from the souls that escaped him. Powerful enemies like Art Lean or even Chan Kang, who could fight against his brother in a blinded rage. An awesome plot spin could be Jax wanting control over the Special Forces, and a battle between him and Sonya begins! If not, Sonya could always fight her possessed boyfriend, Johnny. Another former-friend-turned-evil battle! Cool!
