mortal kombat should take the dc and marvel rought and do one person movies..... if u started off with scorpian or sub zero..... that would set the platform for other movies like batman and spiderman did.... everybody knows scorpian even if u dont follow mk, u know of him.... why havent they thought of this? his story is so deep, it would be sick!!!

i'd like to see a stoyr stted back in the 1992 tournament and give to any characters(including Sonya and Cage) a role and the same importance as they did in 1995.
i don't like the idea of the SUB Zero 's mythologies movie.

If they could pull it off, I wouldn't mind seeing a movie on Sub-Zero. He is one of MK's stronger protagonists story-wise.

I sure as shit wouldn't touch a movie that focused solely on Liu Kang.

Who is Scorpian?
Anyway, out of all the characters you mentioned, only Sub-zero (either one actually) has enough back story and popularity to make an appropriate movie with to follow the canon.

How the fuck does an MK fan spell Scorpian?

It's bad enough that anyone would spell it that way since the correct word for the very real arachnid is spelled Scorpion.

But how can a fan of Mortal Kombat who is enough of a fan to know that Scorpion's storyline is fairly deep and finds his way to MKO.com refer to Scorpion as Scorpian?

I honest to God do not get it at all.

He's the most popular and well known Mortal Kombat character ever. Ever in the world. How can an actual Mortal Kombat fan spell it wrong?

It's on the lifebars.
Every lifebar in every Mortal Kombat game that featured Scorpion has his name spelled ''Scorpion''.

His endings and subtitles in any MK ending that refers to Scorpion in any way shape or form has always had his name spelled right.

There's hundreds of usernames with the name Scorpion that you can find throughout the forums.

It's on the site themes. If you scroll your mouse over to Scorpion's thumbnail, you'll see that it says ''javacript:settheme('Scorpion')''.

It's spelled Scorpion in all of MKO's videogame pages.

It's also spelled Scorpion most everywhere.
There's one major logical flaw and I don't understand how it could happen or when it could happen.

Do you actually believe it's spelled Scorpian?
Was it just a mistake you made TWICE in a row? What are the odds?

Don't you go to school? Haven't you ever at any point see a scorpion in a science book and saw that it was spelled scorpion?

It's on imdb, Scorpion.
Wikipedia, Scorpion.
MKO.com, Scorpion.
Mortal Kombat movie DVDs, Scorpion.
The fucking video games? Scorpion.
Comic books. Scorpion.
Action figure, Scorpion.
Noob.com, Scorpion.

I mean.
It's one thing to spell Shao Khan.
Or misspell Quan Chi, or Shinnok, or Liu Kang or Stryker or any other character's name.
It's easily justifiable. The character isn't as well known as Scorpion, and besides, Shao Khan is a name and Khan is an actual name that exists.
But Scorpion is the name of a real life animal.
Anyone should know how to spell Scorpion.
How does a Mortal Kombat fan fail at something to easy?
It's ridiculous.
How can anyone justify a flaw like this? It's beyond my understanding.

If anyone could help me out here and explain to me how the hell this happened, I'd love to know.

And yes I'd like to see a Scorpion or Sub-Zero themed movie.

correction, three times, the title, and twice in the starter post

but i agree with 2/3 of your idea, im all for Scorpion and Sub-Zero, but Liu Kang doesn't need any more big star things going on right now, i think four games with him as the champion, and 1 about his death, are enough for many of us, he should stay dead

to be honest the same thing oes for whoever spells LIU KANG as LUI KANG...even tough scorpion is more popular i think nobody fro the mk fanbase should write or spell his name improperly.
but we don't need such long and useness comments,in fact i'm ready to bet with anyone that SCORPIAN and LUI KANG will be still written on this page and we don't need to bring World War III to teach how to write succesfully a name

The thing is Lui Kang is probably just a typo from typing fast and not re-reading the posts. Scorpian though, you have to actually go out of your way to not type the O and go to the other end of the keyboard and type in A.

Though to be honest, you really shouldn't talk about spelling errors.
No offense it's just sort of hypocritical in a way.

At least people don't have to kill braincells to try to understand what I'm saying. Why did you try to make a personal insult out of nowhere? You should be able to just laugh it off and admit that you can't spell to save your life instead of being such an agressive prick.

Seriously though I'm not trying to start anything but I've met people on the internet who can't speak English for shit for whatever reasons and they're humble and polite enough to not make fun of OTHER people for not spelling correctly, and if someone points out that they're English is bad they just laugh it off and say ''sorry about my English'' and try to make a joke out of it instead of getting aggressive.
Don't you think you should be that way more?

I just find it annoying when people spell any character's name wrong, but that's just me... Anyway, let's not derail this thread further with how people should act with regards to spelling and spelling the names of characters in the game

Basing a Mortal Kombat movie on one character would seem a bit off. You can sit in theaters and watch a ninja fight all night, and wonder where the hell are the other fighters?!! A Liu Kang martial arts film is more acceptable, with Rob ofcourse.

Well the Chun Li movie is nearly out and so far it looks far better than the Van Damme flick.

No to Scorpion, No to Sub-Zero, and No to Liu Kang.
Yes to another ensemble cast film that kicks as much
ass as the first Mortal Kombat movie did.

I think that sub-zero is the only decent character with a good back story but a special forces film would kick asstonguefuriousfurious

Sub-Zero is the only character they could have a whole story for. He's more interesting and he had his own game already. Scorpion could be somewhere in there too if it really was a Sub-Zero movie.
A Liu Kang movie would be shit. Sorry for any fans but he was never a strong point even though he is the "main" character. Sub-Zero and Scorpion are actually the big guys in the MK franchise but Liu Kang is just the hero guy who gets jobs done as expected. That would be a pretty boring movie.
Sub-Zero and Scorpion are more mysterious and unkown, even though in like every game, they still would make a good moive.

Liu Kang is too bland personality-wise, and it'd be kind of difficult to make a Scorpion movie that would cater to the average Joe Popcorn in addition to seasoned MK gamers.

That being said, Sub-Zero has the most potential out of this group, but he'd have to show his face for a good portion of the movie. Hollywood can't really market a hero whose face is regularly covered.
