Well Shinnok's out of it since he's...well, dead. I figured the movies would just skip part 4 and jump straight into Deadly alliance.

Shinnok didn't die in MKA. He was Banished to the Netherealm. So he will most likely come back and partner with Quan Chi. Or Quan Chi might be alone as the main Villain.
