i dug the trailer but the music choice was trash and im a rap/hiphop nut

I liked the trailer i just didnt like how easily Raiden (a god) got killed. It kinda takes away the effect of an elder god. I guess ppl here don't discuss this as this was just a trailer. The music..i think we an all agree on that one

It is a trailer designed to generate excitement for the game. It is not supposed to be a 100% representation of the game. I am guessing Raiden got killed for the same reason Sub-Zero gets killed, he is not as popular as Scorpion and Scorpion is the mascot character for Mortal Kombat. It is just marketing.

I look at the trailer as just spectacle. It's a balls out crazy fight between iconic characters. I dont think it really hints at anything other than multiple timelines as far as story beats go.

The trailer was crap.The only good part for me was the woman with the hourglass.

I'm just holding out hope that this game will be better than MKX.

Rap song was out of place, didn't fit tempo or mood of video. Looks too much like MKX.

I actually really liked the song choice, tbh. My only real disappointment was how little information was said, which is just me wanting to know more, and using Raiden & Scorpion. Sub-zero is also over used, but I want to see his new design because I really didn't like his MKX one. The song talked about Liu Kang so I don't see why he wasn't involved.

I never get into the CGI trailers, I like the gameplay. I didn't mind the music tho, and I don't even like rap.

I have to say, I really liked the trailer. The only shortcoming in my opinion was the music. The tone was really good, I really liked the setting being on a totally ruined version of the MK1 Courtyard, and I do think it hinted at some pretty cool potential plot details.

However, I have to remain skeptical about the game for now. I thought the MKX trailer looked pretty good, but then I saw the gameplay and it kind of looked like poop by comparison. I don't want to get my hopes up too high until I see what this game will really look like.

I'll echo everyone else here and say I liked the trailer, but the music choice was predictable and just bad. I get that the vibe for the tournament scene is to be fresh/hip/all that, but that's just not MK IMO. It needs to be fast paced and brutal.

Please NRS pick other character the next time because I am getting bored of Scorpion always winning in these trailers..yeah I know he got beaten this time but his Time-Twin won...

I am a Sub-fan but I dont wanna see Sub everytime there are so many more great characters to make a trailer with..come on NRS - Ed - ScorpionLover
And for the music..its not to bad but...I think another type of music will fit better...
We will see..in 4 years..if there will be another Scorpion/introduction trailer..

Scorpion is by far the most popular character in Mortal Kombat. It makes complete sense that he is on the MK11 intro trailer. That is basic marketing sense.

Ed Boon is the creative director of the series. I do not think he is in charge of marketing. That would be Warner Brothers. They decide the marketing.

Next Mortal Kombat game trailer 99% Scorpion will be in it and again he will "win".

Xysion, if you were asked to make a MK trailer, which characters would you use?

Depends what kind of trailer it is. If it is the announcement trailer then Scorpion and probably Sub-Zero or Raiden. I would change the music though. The choice of rap music overshadows conversation after the trailer so I would go with a more orchestral score.
