Rain for MK11 huh? Is this Boon's way of telling people not to get their hopes up for Rain in MKX?

MK2011(9), is initially called Mortal Kombat. He may be referring to MKX as Mortal Kombat 2 (11>1+1=2)?

Well, if you take that statement at face value, it implies that Rain is currently not involved in MKX, but is a potential candidate for DLC.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in a more active role for once (I guess Armageddon of all things was the closest he's ever come to that), but if we're talking DLC, I would much rather see one of the post-classic MK character get the spotlight for once.

He had a legitimate story that I actually liked in 2011. But not enough to really care to have him apart of X. So seeing this "tweet" as much as I don't take any one of them remotely seriously as most do, this one actually got a chuckle out of me.

If he's in, whoopty do. Despite it being "iconic" for him, I don't want that weird roundhouse kick be apart of his moves. They could do so much better with it rather than having the opponent fly to the opposite side.

As for Rain.......meh. They should work more on his thunder-based attacks. That water hose move in MK9 was just straight up and down pathetic.

He was clearly being facetious again, people. You really should stop taking everything he says at face value...

Me and several other users have been asking this for a long time.

No one until several weeks after the game's release will not stop taking Tweets seriously. And I say that because there might be those who think there are some "secret stuff" that hasn't gotten revealed yet.

They just need to learn their lesson. I did the hard way back in '04 when I joined this site and was one of the idiotic 'super unlockable' hunters. I was one of the few time wasters wandering around Konquest aimlessly looking for hidden crap. lol I remember finding that invisible floor in Orderrealm and thinking I'd struck gold and ended up glitching my game to hell.

Don't abandon your characters Boon. You made them now you stick by them.

Rain has a good foundation now for being a solid character so lets see you build upon it and give him some dignifying specials instead of a weak water hose move.

Again I really wish they had gone about growing the roster over the years much less aggressively so we wouldn't be in this mess now.

God Ed is one of the biggest trolls on the planet and l love it. You cant take anything he says seriously if you do you'll probably go mad, but with that being said Rain should be in every god damn game.

Honest to God Rain has a better story than Reptile and I like Reptile I really do. Rain could have more story importance than most if they capitalized on it.

I can't figure out why NRS and a large part of the fan base insist on seeing him as nothing more than a novelty or joke character. His bio alone makes him an important character, he's a ninja...why can't he get any love?

Just because Boon originally intended him as a joke character(reference to Prince/Purple Rain) shouldn't mean shit at this point. Ermac started as a freaking glitch in MK1 that led to a rumor, and look at what they have done with him.

Would love Rain to be in MK11 if he doesn't make the cut for MKX. He's my personal favorite since Trilogy and been bummed with each game when he isn't a part of it (but I'm a MK fanboy regardless). I agree that they can do a lot more with him and the fact he's a joke character when created shouldn't matter anymore since that was about 20 years ago now.

As for those of you saying his water hose move wasn't good: It definitely wasn't good at all in Armageddon. However, in MK9, I ended most of my combos with that move. It prevented my opponent from using any sort of wake up attacks and assists in keeping the pressure on. It became my favorite move along with the lightning strike and super roundhouse. Although I do agree about him having more thunder based attacks. That lightning strike was what appealed to me the most.

Funny you say that because I will go ahead and admit that one of the main reasons I loved Rain so much the first time I played him in UMK3 for Genesis and one of the reasons I still love him is the purple. It's my favorite color, too. I think it goes back to Jack Nicholson as the Joker. Batman '89 was my favorite movie as a kid. Wore that VHS tape out.

Hell yes rain should be in the game, i'd love to see drops of water splash off the characters. Plus having precipitation randomly appear on some stages would be such a nice detail. It would even give the chance to have blood rain, no kidding, a stage where it rains blood would be so tight. I hope there's even stages of rain, it starts sprinkling the picks up to a heavy rain at times. Can't wait.

Rain has the perfect set-up for amazing things to be done with him storywise and his specials alone give him an edge as it makes him unique. I'll never understand why they don't do more with him. He's a fucking prince! You could have him tangle with Kitana all day long and it'd be way more interesting a story than "My racccccccce is dead so I'll just being over here until you need me masssssster."

I really liked the first concept a lot, but ultimately something that's more of a mix between them would do him justice.
