Brilliant news!

Excellent. I just hope some of the costumes/gear aren't tied to impossibly hard towers like they were in Injustice 2. I'm not good enough to beat the CPU on Very Hard.
It's WB though. So expect all kinds of bullshittery with DLC.
This
There you go, finding a hidden advantage in an unfortunate circumstance; using pain to take you to the next level. Those are the things that turn players into kings.

still better than ea and the shit they pull
I just want everything to be ACHIEVABLE for the common man... who doesn't necessarily know or have any desire to play online super competitively.
I still don't have all the skins in MKX unlocked, never got those ones that required lots of online vs. wins (or worse yet, streaks)... I'm just not that kind of player. Even some players who are that kind of player never got those. And that sucked donkey.
In MK9 (and every other game before that) everything was unlockable with enough persistence. And even when persistence failed, you could typically pay koins.
If any skins require a 10 win vs. streak in this game, I'm gonna be pissed.
(Did Injustice 2 have anything like that? I didn't play it.)
hey
That is a positive sign, but i'm going to remain slightly cautious here. There have been cases where the devs say there are no microtransactions, and then lo and behold; microtransactions! I do not think they are going to do loot boxes solely due to how unpopular they are.
However there are already some shady things going on; pre-ordering for access to a character, early "beta" access; those are sketchy marketing practices to me. Not to mention in the past they did charge for skins already on-disk in MK9, and did quick fatality and the krypt buyout in MKX. That's why i'm remaining cautious.

I thought the way MKX was handled was fair enough really. Preorder Goro became available to all eventually so I expect Khan will be the same. It's good that day one-ers get an incentive, and beta access is a good idea too.
As for paying for quick fatalities and unlocking the krypt, to me those activities are part of the game's soul, so if you're cheating it you've gotta pay for it.
That's great news! I hope that doesn't mean they won't sell new colors/shaders though I'm completely fine with spending on those
I'm guessing you'll be able to buy those consumables and probably easy fatalities, things like that. It's sad because easy fatalities used to be a cheat code you could do for free. I get it though, this is the only fighting franchise that is really treated like a AAA title from it's publisher.
