This game should be fun to play but is hugely frustrating to play that AI. That is MEDIUM difficulty?

If they don't do anything to it I will never play this game again. A game should be fun not stupid...

And the krypt... it will take forever to unlock things....

I think this game wont last a week like this for me.

I’ve felt the same I’m not the best mk11 player and all I wanna do is sit down and try get the good items and cosmetics in the game. And this is where I have the problem with the tower of time. Since there’s no difficulty selecting it means I find it quite challenging to get my reward. I wouldn’t mind having to play the same thing 3 times on “easy” to get all the rewards I want.

This game is stupid and the AI is stupid. FUCK NRS to deliver a unplayable game in towers of time. If that's what they want play themselves.I've deleted the game for good. Wasted money. I'm done with an unplayable game.

I am perplexed why NRS shipped the game in this condition. Tower difficulty aside, the game was clearly designed to milk the shit out of customers via the time krystal nonsense in the game shop. The thought of grinding to unlock gear for just 1 fighter is too overwhelming. I have a business to run in real life, I dont have weeks to spend grinding RNG bullshit in hopes I might get lucky for the gear I want. I just want to sign on, play a few online fights and my fighters to look how I want after a day of work. Is that too much to ask, NRS? Someone got greedy, either NRS and/or WB, and its a damn shame. I was so excited about MK just before launch, but what a difference a day makes.

Hot tip: when a company proclaims "no loot boxes", be weary, be very weary as a system even more nefarious likely awaits.

I’m in the exact same position as you Randwulf. I bought a PS4 pro just for this game so I didn’t have to deal with the PC nonsense again and i paid the $100 up front for the premium to support the developers and would have bought the Kollectors edition if it had more in it. All i want is to get home from work get the kids/wife taken care of for the evening and play the game for and hour or two every night. Knock out the story then settle into online competition for the foreseeable future. Instead NRS wants me to go bang my head against the wall for hours on end in single player to maybe get an outfit I’m looking for for the characters I’m using.

And to add on top of it instead of just letting me pay for the Krypt items upfront...you can only buy individual outfits from the Krypt at $5 a pop...fuck that. I love MK and i like the developers but they are trying to rob us and its not ok.

Preach, sir. The graphics team worked very hard to present a gorgeous game that pushes Unreal 3 into Unreal 4 territory. All their hard work is being flushed down the drain by a greedy game shop scam. I spent 7k koins on a chest in Krypt and I got 1k in coins back, and a potion for the towers of time. No, just no. No, I do not want a potion. I would like one of the over 2,000 unlockables in the gear/skin system. When you add up all the skins at $5 a pop, that's thousands of dollars to unlock everything if you do not want to waste weeks, or months, of your life with this RNG scam. I actually like the recipe combining system, then buying specific things from Kollector. That is much closer to how unlocking items should be so you can target what you want.

I'm 43, I got property taxes/bills to pay, a small business to run, my lawn to mow, dishes and laundry, etc, I don't have the luxury of laying in my parent's basement playing MK11 18 hours a day, which is exactly who NRS/WB designed this game for, apparently.

Yeah, I have noticed this aswell, not only NRS does this, but others aswell, making young people addicted to these things and then spending really money on it. They're making them addicted to gambling at a young age. I have some students who already are that way and they're not even that old.
I have one student who says Fortnite is great, it's free, yet has already invested around 600 on it just for skins and such.
And the way Krypt is made, reminds me about a documentary that I once saw about gambling and casino's. How they work with sounds and lights to give people some euphoria when winning something. So they throw a bone once in a while, the sound and light works on your subconcious and you are compelled to have more of it, so what you've one, you spend again to get the next whistles, bells and shiny lights.
The Krypt does this aswell, everytime you open a chest and unlock stuff.

There are waaaaay too many skins to unlock. I get completely new looks, love that, but what's with all the colors? I dont want Kitana in green or purple. Well my personal preference anyway. Don't want Jade in blue. Little too much. And too much unnecessary customizing I feel as well.

I feel like I'll never unlock even half the krypt. I haven't liked a single thing I've unlocked/purchased in the Krypt this far.

Now I'm just relying on DLC characters. I need more characters in this game to keep me going. Love a big roster. Hope we dont have to wait too long.

Oh my, the game is just out and everyone is complaining. I’m just a casual player but after one week I can say I love the game.

The grind?

I see it that way. There’s a lot of different ways to get presents and the costumes and the gear is nothing else. In former games, you bought it as it were. Some were great but had just an end screen and in some you were just able to get one or two new characters. No outfits and no gear, just the game. If I see just the Basic game, playing story and fighting one against another and maybe classic towers, the game is great and I love it.

And even with Grind and this vast of possibilities to play the game, i get new stuff for just playing, I’m glad about every present I’ll get.

Welcome to modern “Triple A” gaming. WB is notorious for pulling this style of micro transaction BS in their games which, as I recall, was discussed in a thread before launch where people were warning of this happening.

Its not enough for you to simply buy the game, they need you constantly pumping cash into it. It’s no accident the Krypt is a giant loot box/crate, it’s no accident the game is filled to the brim with repetitive fluff (palette swaps counting as different costumes, etc.) to dilute your chances of unlocking what you want via randomized drops, and it’s no accident the difficulty for some spots on the towers are as high as they are. They need it to be this way so you just say “screw it” and pay to get what you want rather than rely on the whims of RNGesus.

I love NRS and enjoy MK11 but...oof.

So... there will be another patch for this game? Because I thought they already tuned down the difficulty of the towers.

To be honest... if everything is unlockable at the krypt... and you get those things in two or three months.. I could live with that. But if some stuff is only at the wb shop, then we have a big problem here.

I sort of agree with you on this but MK11 is the first of the Mortal Kombat games that have actual micro transactions in it. A micro transaction is in-game currency you have to physically buy with real money. In all Mortal Kombat games prior to this one, the only extra things you had to physically purchase were additional fighters and few small skins, but they were actually priced fairly. The Krypts in all previous games the money to unlock items in them were found or earned within the game itself. You didn't have to use real money, to buy fake in-game money to unlock items within the Krypts. MKX did give you the options of unlocking everything with a single purchase, but again that was an option they game to you. The payment wasn't too bad to do that in MKX either. That option isn't even available in MK11 and even if it were it would have to be very cheaply priced for me at this point.

My point is in MK11, you have to unlock EVERYTHING in the Krypt nearly. There is not unlock everything and usually with a premium edition or special edition you shell out extra cash for you get an option to unlock everything. WWE2K games have been doing this so far and it has worked for me but I do not agree Netherrealm were headed this was until MKX rolled around.

Unplayable is going way to far. Hard? Yes. But definitely playable. Sounds more like you need to get better, or as you said, delete the game if its pissing you off that much.

Its hard in some towers but not to the point to where I couldn't beat them. Yes there was massive frustration, even some hair pulling, but its very playable.

It's completely unplayable. Not a question of skill or not. The AI is programmed to win every time, no matter what. The AI ca read all the time your inputs. AI can punish you all the time to even land all fatal blows. And in some modifiers the AI can also beat you while beaten... The AI modifiers are always stronger and have ridiculous cool downs.

I can play all the time just to try finish one tower (I work).

But, even with the patch coming, I'm done with the game. It has everything to be great, but poor design and Tower difficulty decisions made an unpleasant game to play. They even tested the game? I would love to see them playing those towers, i bet none will win... A game doesn't have to be easy, just doesn't have to be stupid.

Signed up for an account just to vent about how stupid these towers are as well. They basically found the modifiers that should never be used together, put them together, and created an unholy abomination of game design. This game is easily thier best in terms of control and game mechanics, and someone said, "hey, this gameplay is really good, now let's take a huge dump on it".

I paid $100.00 total for this game thinking it would good fun for me after work and study, but the towers and the grind are anything but fun. Lesson learned I guess; I learned not to buy anything made by Netherrealm again, because it seems making a fun game is pretty low on the priority list.

They should fix the player 2 variations issue, fuck those towers.
