In last weeks stream they said "likely Thursday", and I haven't seen anything on Twitter about it yet so very unlikely it will be on today (Wednesday).

As a Rain fan myself, can you please shut up?

Frost is fine and I'm glad a 3D era character is on the roster.

Nobody has stolen a spot from anyone. Can we stop with this nonsense?

This is a forum which is intended for people to voice there opinion. If you don’t like it move on. Nobody has to shut up here.

I didn't say anyone had to, I simply asked, politely too. I even added "please".

We get freakin Frost instead of Rain!?

I'm fine with Frost. I liked her in MK5. She's more worthy of a roster spot than Cassie or Jacqui, imo. I like Rain, too, but we got him in MK9. We haven't seen a new iteration of Frost since MK5. No one said Rain is out. I admit his odds aren't high, but Boon knows how popular Rain is. Maybe we will get him, maybe not. Be patient. Or, maybe we will get his sister, Sleet, or his cousin, Drizzle :-p

Never cared for Frost at all but it's nice too see 1 3D era character in the game that isn't Kenshi or Quan Chi - and I'm not one of those obsessed fans crying over 3D era representation.

Really glad Rain got the shaft again, let's just forget about him.

I always prefered Frost over Sub-Zero, and never cared about any of the cyborgs until Cyber Sub-Zero. So Cyber-Frost is very intruiging to me. I can't wait to see what they've done with the character.

And since Sub-Zero tends to be the punching bag in the Kombat Kasts... that'll just make it even sweeter!

I am not prefering Frost over Sub, but I think its a good idea to let Sub sit one out and let Frost shine for a game.

Wait..did I realy said that? Yes haha

Let Sub sit one out and give him a better purpose to be in the game instead of reviving the Lin Kuei all the time.

MKX-Sub was very good, but this time I think he is a bit lame, just like his ugly basic Fortnite-like-costume.

And I am a Sub-fan believe me..

Ironic you think he should sit out this time. While I've never cared about Kuai Liang's Sub-Zero before... as a Scorpion fan it's great to see these two teaming up to take down their common enemiy: the original Lin Kuei / Tekunin.

It's been a long time coming and it's easily the most exciting thing about MK11 for me personally.

That, and Scorpion / Noob crossing paths - but there has been any hint of that yet.

It is ironic indeed but to be honest it(Sub and Scorp teaming up) doesnt really trigger me..I dont know why..

Maybe when I played the storymode I will reset my opinion. Ofcourse I am glad Sub is in.

Some dialogue kinda hints at that... but I think that would be stupid writing considering:

  • In the original timeline MK2-3 Scorpion vowed to protect Kuai Liang as remorse for killing his brother.
  • In the new timeline MK(2011) Scorpion simply didn't give a shit about Kuai Liang.

I'd be pissed if they tried to pull that shit in MK11. But It's NRS so I wouldn't put it past them.

You are right my friend, they are not rivals.

I was happy that Scorpion finally killed his family murderer in MKX and the two ninjas could make peace.

For me it was like: ok peace restored, sit one out and come back for something else..or something like that.

MK11 will go on with this story, and I hope NRS continues this saga with respect.

If Frost is indeed a cyborg (which seems to be a likely case at this point), then I'll be okay with it. However, I'd much rather have Fujin, who would be more relevant to the story. Would be nice to have more than one 3D era character included in the base roster. MKX had 3.

Game devs and everyone familiar with the series know they aren't rivals or should I say, they shouldn't have been. It was up to them (Scorpion and Kuai Liang) to figure that out. It took them a very long time but they did it.

Well Fujin obviously isn't that relevant to the story if we haven't seen hide nor hair of him since 2006. Don't get me wrong, I want Fujin back as much as the next person and will be shattered if he isn't DLC, but I don't think it's fair to dismiss Frost as not being relevant when it looks like she's going to be having a pretty substantial role in the story- that's a pretty big honor for a 3D era character that's not Quan Chi or Kenshi. We don't even know what Fujin has truly been up to this timeline with the exception of his brief cameo in MKX. So...yeah Fujin is not exactly a good judge of relevancy.

I think that's something that fans of the 3D era characters should be celebrating, rather than saying "Boo, why Frost"?

As far as MKX having 3 in the base roster, two of them were Kenshi and Quan Chi. I don't really consider their inclusions a plus for 3D era representation mainly because they are always represented.

Nemesis didn't say Frost was irrelevant or that they don't want her... just that they simply would have preferred Fujin.

From what little we know of the story, Fujin would make a lot of sense to be involved in the story (also he did appear in MKX to help stop Shinnok). MK11 features a story centered around the gods, including the Elder Gods and the parents of Elder God (Grand Elder Gods?). Not to mention there being a dark Raiden. Fujin is supposed to be Raiden's closest ally. It seems silly to me that he wouldn't try to save his friend, or stop him from going off the deep end.

To that end, I would agree that Fujin seems more relevant to the story than most of the current roster. And this is exactly why I've been asking for him since MK11 was announced. I'm not a Fujin fan by any means, but it just seems weird he would be absent now of all times.

But this doesn't mean Frost is irrelevant. If she is leading the Tekunin - who seem to be the main bulk of Kronika's army (the foot-soldiers if you will). Not to mention being at odds with Scorpion and Sub-Zero who are teaming up against the Tekunin. It seems like she's got a lot going for her this time around.

Look, you have no arguments from me. I've been wanting Fujin back for years and the door has been opened for him to return to this franchise NUMEROUS times yet sadly NRS has never pushed him through. He should've been protector of Earthrealm in Deadly Alliance but nope Raiden felt that Shang and Quan Chi was such a threat that he had to relinquish his status as an Elder God just to come back and fight them(I thought that was bullshit), then where the hell was Fujin in Deception when Raiden went off the deep end? Where is he now?

Fujin is a character that Raiden sorely needs. It's like how Liu has Kung-Lao and Kitana has Jade, well I always saw Fujin as being Raiden's right hand- we need him there to help further develop our hero. But as much as I want him and as much as I feel he's needed to help further develop Raiden- that doesn't make him relevant to the grander plot as Frost being the leader of the Cyber Initiative and serving Kronika and being a huge threat herself to our heroes.

Hell, Frost may even ascend to being our main threat next game depending on how things play out. That's huge. So no, I don't know about Fujin being "more relevant".

Exactly! That's the biggest reason why I would want Fujin in the game, though I do like his character/design in general. Never said Frost wasn't relevant either. If Frost is supposed to represent the Borgs in MK11 then I'm all for having her in, otherwise its basically two Sub-Zeros and that would be a waste of a slot.

ProfesserAhnka
Well Fujin obviously isn't that relevant to the story if we haven't seen hide nor hair of him since 2006.

And? Frost hasn't been a playable character since 2006, and both had cameos in MKX. Weak argument. This would have been a great opportunity to revitalize and further develop him like they did for Kenshi in MK9, or Shinnok in MKX (losing to Cassie notwithstanding, because that was just stupid).

ProfesserAhnka
We don't even know what Fujin has truly been up to this timeline with the exception of his brief cameo in MKX.

That's what the writing staff is for. That's what character intros and arcade mode endings are for.

They are still 3D era characters, regardless of the fact that they are NRS' favorites. I wouldn't want Kenshi or Quan Chi back either, but it wouldn't kill them to include one more in the base roster, and maybe another for DLC. Kind of sucks that five slots are being taken up by Sonya, Johnny, Cassie, Jacqui, and Jax when you could bring back like three of them without hurting the roster.

Honestly there are very few characters that I don’t see at least a modicum of potential in, so yeah, bring in more 3D era characters, take another stab at Jaqui, Kotal, Cassie, etc. I’d love to see a wide variety of characters including many we don’t see game after game after game.

I think it’s kinda silly to estimate who deserves to be in more, who is more deserving of another chance, etc. Obviously we’re all just talking and giving our opinions, but a few in here seem to act as though their opinions are just so obvious that they’re practically common knowledge.

I think they’re building a solid starting roster, though I hope the rumors about two or three hidden unlockable characters are true. Also hoping we get as many of Fujin, Sareena, Smoke, Takeda, Kai, Reiko, Nitara, Li Mei, Kira and Tasia as possible, but that’s just me.

I don’t mind Frost. She’s not the issue here. The real issue are the MKX returnees. None of whom are the least bit interesting.

Hopefully they will be this time around.

Except for D'Vorah. I already like her.

She's the Kenshi/Quan Chi of MKX. The one character who's going to outlast them all. I'm shocked at the lack of footage of her so far.
