That's only one of the skins he has available. Because of the timeline stuff you can play as him before he got burned. They showed off three skins

I love this new Kabal he's the best out of the revealed characters so far. Classic and yet modernized enough to feel fresh.

His fatal blow and Fatality are the best so far too, he stole Skarlet's spotlight.

I dig his pre-burnt look, looking forward to his interactions with Sonya, Jax and Kano.

Damn. Kabal’s gameplay looks incredible. I can already see having a hard time against him in online matches.

He is gonna be one of the most played as characters especially with the run button being gone in this game. His super speed will make a lot of people prefer playing with him.

Hoping he still got his scary face fatality... but on the other hand, that would be too comical in this iteration of MK. Is it me or is that rush move a little slower than it used to be?

Why would harsh combatants scream their soul away for a burned face? THey see faces like Mileena and Baraka for breakfast, so there is no logical reason to have that silly fatality back, Scorpion sees a lot of worse burned faces every fatality.

One of his alternate costumes has him look normal without the respirator as well. With that skin it would not make sense for the scary face fatality.

What angers me about his new look (the unmasked one specifically) is that thieving jerk stole Cassie's haircut.

(Note: This is mostly a joke. Though not entirely. I loved Cassie's old haircut. I dislike the new one we saw in the leak. Still, mostly kidding.)

Man Kabal looks awesome. Really dig his initial oook and his maskless look. The third one they showed I could probably take or leave, but overall, I’m super psyched by his design.

And that gameplay... Wow. I mailed him in MK3 and he’s always been one of my favorites, but good god did they crush it with his move list, and to think we haven’t even seen all he can do!

I can't wait to actually get to play as Kabal again. I mained him in each of the MK's he was actually in. I want to get an actual look at his moves curious to see how they will turn out.

No, but seriously, I've seen that theory thrown out a few times today. Seems plausible. His primary skin has grey skin, wheras his other masked skin has a more traditional fleshy burn color. Plus the description on the youtube post of his reveal trailer seems to indicate he's still a revenant: "Resurrected as a twisted, evil version of himself, Kabal now serves the Netherrealm and pledges to destroy all other realms."

well we saw gameplay of revenant liu fighting raiden so i assume he will also get his normal version like in the trailer and revenant right?

i get they have different skins and you can change things but why is he human, burned and then grey skin burned they did not color change him for the gameplay

but then again we will have to see what is going on when its released

lol, his buzzsaw move is now the primary projectile. Sucks that they'll never acknowledge nor reference his bread-&-butter combo from MK3.

His fatality is well made, finally utilizing his speed abilities.

Because not everything has to make sense? Fatality's are just a "fun" way of ending a fight and add some more personal traits to a character.
Scorpion, Baraka, Mileena... all were there before Kabal entered in MK3. Apparantly it scared them back then.
I'm not looking for a "story" behind a fatality.
