Mortal Kombat 11 Online Stress Test Beta Sign-Up

Console stress test begins next week!

Pre-orders will get players early Beta Access to Mortal Kombat 11 at the end of the month, but a limited sign-up process is now open for a stress test of online code beginning next week! Details:

The Online Stress Test will take place on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One acros three days of kombat on Friday, March 15th to Sunday, March 17th. For practical reasons, the official sign-up is only open to players in the United States.

Actually if you read the stress test confirmation e-mail it says: "This event will feature only several characters and modes available at launch."

Which while poorly phrased, I believe is meant to imply it almost certainly WON'T contain every character and every mode... their phrasing could have been clearer, but I interpret "only several characters and modes" to mean "not all characters and modes"

And if that applies to the stress test, I'm guessing it applies to the preorder beta too. As they'll probably be essentially the same build.

If I had to guess...

We'll probably get a smattering of characters we've seen already. MAYBE a couple new ones if they want to spring a surprise on us. We'll probably be able to use the same modes testers have shown off thus far: VS, Kustomization, and a limited selection of towers.

Story mode will almost certainly be locked away. Probably also the Krypt.

If towers are in (and they probably will be) I doubt if character endings will be implemented upon completion of said towers, probably just a teaser screen that says, "In Stores April 23rd"

That's all just me guessin' though.

The extra is Shao Kahn, so no. Wouldn't be fair to others either.

FYI: Remember to check your spam folder. I just found an e-mail from WBGames in there from last week telling me the story trailer had been released, which while not a Beta key, is from the same source.

Well they've seemingly hit, as reports are piling in all over larger forums.

I've got nuthin' ... curses.

One seller already has 2 on ebay for $50 each (same seller, the bastard)

If anyone has a spare and feels like being nice, I'm signing up for the "Please please please" list. Figure the odds are better I'd get one here where there are like... 15 regulars... than Reddit where there are a zillion people to compete with.

EDIT: And someone has already undercut ebay guy at $45. Hopefully given the limited nature and the fact they need to move these sales fast, if there's one silver lining to people scalping them, if a couple hundred pour onto ebay before end of day, they could get down to an affordable price. I'd be in for about $10 or less. MAYBE $15... though even that strikes me as too much for 3 days.

I know there are some who may not find it worthwhile, but in the interest of helping those as desperate as I am, haha...

Someone has listed 10+ codes on ebay for $4.99 a piece, and they're selling fast.

They were originally $3.99, he bumped the price up a dollar after about 5 sold. I snagged one for $3.99. Seller contacted me, asked PS4 or XBone, I replied, he sent the code, claimed, verified and in my queue.

Well worth the $4 for me. If it would be worth $5 to you... act fast.

There were 4 sold and 10+ available when I bought mine mere minutes ago. He currently has 10 sold and 6 available at the time I finish this post.

EDIT: He seemingly now upped the price to $7.99
EDIT AGAIN: And now they're $19.99, no longer worthwhile imo, hopefully I'm not the only one who scored a bargain. Sorry to those who didn't.

So far I have played one match but the ping was so poor it booted me.. You can only choose between three characters so far.. scorpion, skarlet, and baraka... which is fine cause I personally was going to choose baraka as my first to begin with..

3 characters and only online vs. and kustomization huh? That's underwhelming...

I can forgive the lack of modes. I hoped for more, but the purpose of a stress test is to focus test the limits of their online servers, so keeping the modes streamlined is totally understandable.

But I thought character wise they'd as LEAST throw in the 7 release day characters. It's not as if we haven't seen them picked apart already in 100 different videos.

Hopefully the preorder beta is a little more robust? *Shrug*

Anyway... 5 more weeks... 5 more weeks... 5 more weeks... lol...

Was that screenshot in the message before? So the pre-order beta is only that weekend? Damn, expected it to be longer. Well, gotta reserve that weekend then and make the most of it.

As for the buying of the beta, people should really refrain themselves from doing that. It only invites them to scalp more and more.
