Shao Kahn IS in the launch build but locked behind a paywall.
It's a safe bet to assume they've had other DLC played from the start and have already created most of it before launch.

And this is why I don't pre-order. And very rarely, if ever, buy DLC. Especially from companies who are known for this sort of thing ( MK(2011) had over 30 different versions of the game on launch, if you were to combine all the pre-order bonuses; console/store/region -exclusives; and kollectors/special editions; etc). And people thought EA and Ubisoft were bad with Anthem and Division 2. :D

Hoping it’s Noob, Cetrion, Kollector, Shang Tsung or perhaps someone we weren’t expecting. Don’t we only know 28 of the 29 at this point?

As for the DLC character, I’d be shocked if it wasn’t Spawn.

They're not going to explicitly acknowledge that we know most the roster. It's better for them to pretend as if nothing went wrong.

As for Spawn, I just don't feel they would announce him this early. I take it we'll get an announcement for the guest character the week of launch. I think the DLC character is just a veteran MK character.

That doesn't really excuse this character not being included in the base game. The real reason is, they just want to make money on top of the previous sale. Same deal with Shao Kahn.

Or just wait for the complete version of a game to drop a year later. Sure you missed out on the hype, but you also didn't get milked along the way and got a finished game for a cheaper price.

Ok, honestly. Why they don't show the trailer and gameplay from MK11 on the stream? What the fu.. is going on there? This is one of the worst presentations I have seen in my life.

They also showed a clip of Scorpion in the story mode. He is seen working with Sub-Zero destroying presumely Tekunin cyborgs. He has retained his hellfire powers.

I’ve been dying for something to get excited about for this game and I finally got it today. Noob looks amazing and I’m hyped for Shang. A little bummed that he’s DLC only because I want to play as him right away. Next I’m pumped to see is Shao Kahn gameplay.

I suggested this in the thread talking about stages.... with the inclusion of the Tekunin Foundry I was hoping to see Shirai-ryu and Lin Kuei team up to fight their common enemy!!! HELLS YES!!!

Cassie look like Scarlet Johannson at the start of that trailer with those thick lips. I noticed that in one of the shots in the first story trailer too. When she's stood next to Sonya talking about invading the Netherealm. But they don't look like that in other shots.
