Are there any Lesbian or Bi-Sexual FEMALE MK fans out there? If so I would love to hear you guys speak on this issue rather than the same group of hetero males.

A new perspective would be nice. I'm curious to know what you guys think.

Not one, but in gamefaq, some allegedly girl regularly hardcore bashing mk 11's females costumes and asking for mk9 costumes.

I thought overly sexualized "oh wow look the hot chick is a badass!" type characters in video games were cool...when I was like 10-14 years old. Jesus, talk about arrested development. This whole thing reminds me of the neckbeards who got bent out of shape about Claire Redfield not sporting short shorts in the Resident Evil 2 remake.

Oversexualizing outfits no way to go, but neither muslim fashion as well.

I like outfits currently, but if they continue moving futher in direction it can get close to something completely ridicilous and something not cool at all and infact boring. Very boring and uncool. This would bad for female character in mine opinion.

I find decisions that supposedly made by lead character designer strange and sometime bizzare.

Why put on them Heels.

Droids for Sonya and Cassie. Why cassie, who defeated elder god need droid?

Making ultra slim univeral body for every female character.

It is not cool putting Skalett massive face to such a stiky thin generic body.

So do Kitana's big asian face could have put on body proportionally mathing asian body's composition such as in real life.

But no. Let put her head on generic normal thin caucasoid body.

Not to mentioned nobody of them, greatest warriors in the universe, had any muscle definitions whatsoever.

these are lost opportunities to define character and tell more of her story throw apperance

I don't accusate Lead character designer in anyting, but a little bit suspect something. You know these closed types, who go out their way to prove themselves not to be someone, who they actually are.

it is Trade off, on one hand cool costumes, cool faces on the other hand uninspired not matching characters bodies in real life analogues proportions and compositions in best traditions of Dr. Moro.

Now i noticed, that Jade had bigger ... you know.. and maybe there are some differences, that i didn't notice yet. But i still convinced, that neither to Skarlett or Kitana made justice with their bodies design.

Maybe i need look closer, but right now that my impression.

There is a double standard between males in females in MK. Disagree? Show me where a female is urinating in MK. It's ok when a male does it, seemingly forbidden for a female character. I could be wrong -- maybe you can unlock an intro where Skarlet is menstruating on the ground. Show me where a female is 3/4 naked. It's ok when Baraka is nearly naked, forbidden for a female character to show more than a sliver of flesh. MK9 was a hooker convention for female designs, if we even want to call their attire in that game designs. Skarlet was the worst offender in MK9 -- almost no design effort. Initially, MK11 had me concerned on female design. Thankfully, they have made some improvements since the initial reveal, such as Kronika and Sonya's faces. There are outfits that show some cleavage (Skarlet), and not all females are A-cups, now (Jade). What's the relevance in a fighting game? I like my males to look male, and my females to look female. Heresy in 2019, I know, where human biology is now a hate crime. In a time when we are preached to about equality, and equal representation, I think shaming the female body by pretending females do not have certain body parts is a step backwards, and exactly the mindset certain religions that revel in patriarchal subjugation of females applaud. We can find a balance between not making females look like hookers but also not forcing all females into the same 2 outfit options. That said, we have not seen all the gear for the fighters in the game, and maybe more creative outfits await. It's not the most pertinent issue of MK11, and I am not losing sleep over it, but it is factually accurate to note NRS has a double standard when it comes to male and female designs. I am thankful the designers of Soul Calibur VI did not cave to modern outrage culture and allowed character designs to stay true to their past.

Ok, now let me have it with the insults. And, go!

I'm so tired of people throwing around the term double standard.

Yes, there are double standards. The world runs on double standards. We can sit up here and talk about double standards in society all day and it won't achieve anything because we're human. We all have double standards to a certain degree. Yes, even you.

And sometimes, double standards ARE needed, sometimes double standards are important. Some are ridicules, some are unfair- but at the end of the day- if you really want to dismantle most social double standards- then you have to take down thousands and thousands years of civilization and that goes waaay deeper than a silly video game series.

I didn't make the rules of 2019, just trying to enforce them equally. Fair for one is fair for all, right? I'm just kidding, we know equality is never about actually being equal. Let me know when an intro starts with the tinkling of Skarlet's menstrual blood on the ground. I was just informed its OK for Kano to relieve himself of bodily fluids because he has a dirty, nasty persona. Skarlet is also a dirty (bloody), nasty character. So, let the red river flow, NRS! EQUALITY!

I just want there to be a little tit and a little peck in my fightan video game. Not asking them to be full blown pornstars here but Christ let's have a little variety. I don't know why it's so bad for a woman to expose some skin and the same with the guys. "I-If you want that just go to pornhub!", yeah way to miss the point. No one is asking for this so they can jack off. I just want to reach some middle ground here.

But why is it so important? That's what I'd seriously like to know. I understand, nobody want everyone dressing like nuns or Ashrah, but I think it's problematic that you're ignoring the fact that so many people are PLEASED and find the women's costumes sexy as is.

There's nothing wrong with wanting a little sexiness, but that shouldn't be the first thing you're looking for is the point.

Flaming isn't tolerated. Keep it clean and respect others viewpoints. Debate is fine, but this kind of speak isn't going to fly here on my watch. Please be chill with one another, I understand people are passionate. I respect that and both sides of this argument. But it's a solid nope on the negative personal remarks.

Just admit that you're pandering to the very people who would've seen your franchise wiped from existence in the 1990s so we can all move on with our lives.

I'm sorry but correlating these two things is total nonsense. People who dislike female characters in games being designed primarily or even exclusively for the male gaze are NOT the same anti-sex, religious conservative Parent's Television Council types who got all up in arms about violence in this franchise back in the 90's. I'm not seeing modern feminists out here campaigning against gore in video games. They aren't even anti-sex, either. What bothers them about stuff like the OG Laura Croft or the way the women in MK9 were designed isn't being sexual but obviously being designed as a ridiculous fantasy primarily for male fans.

That's some severe revisionist history there, friend. Herb Kohl (a Democrat) and Joe Lieberman (another Democrat, sensing a theme here) were the ones leading the charge to regulate or even outright ban MK in the 90s. Lieberman and Kohl continued their crusade into the late 90s, going after games like Resident Evil as well. They generally stopped caring about MK's violence in the 2000s once GTA became popular, but if you think their philosophy wouldn't also apply to sexualized females, you're nuts. They're (being those who agree with their mindset) still out to drain the fun from the game for a select crowd of people, it's just a different subset. I think it's funny how some people in here are all about inclusion until it comes to people they disagree with.

It's not so much importance as much as it is just calling out hypocrisy. Do people find the costumes sexy now? Yes. Does that bother me? No. I just want to know why it bothers others that there are people that want more revealing costumes. MK has always been the epitome of politically incorrect. I don't understand why someone gets so devastated and name calls others that want this. If there really is nothing wrong with a little sexiness then why is most of this thread berating others toying with that idea? Everyone just needs to take a chill pill.

Well it depends on the IP. But when it comes to MK, the series has always had revealing clothes for their female characters but it was never a big deal or overdone until MK9 rolled around and every female had circus tits, a few straps of clothing, and giant hooker boots- it was a travesty and a joke but those hideous designs obviously provided inspiration for a lot of MK porn on the net that many of these mouth-breathers enjoyed masturbating too- hence all the complaining even now.

Sonya actually looking like a Military general? BAH. Skarlet actually looking like an assassin? BOO.

Exactly.

When Sonya and Sindel started looking like strippers, it became a problem. Sindel having breasts that large on top of them being revealing bothered me quite a bit, and I like women! It just doesn't fit the character. Same with Sonya.

Kitana should be well covered as well in human form. She is a regal princess; she should look like one. Jade can maybe have some skin showing, not certainly not a lot. Mileena? Sure, go for the gut. Just don't overdo it.

Sindel always had revealing outfits, in every single game she appeared in. Does it befit a queen? No, probably not. I don't claim to know Outworld's standards of attire. To say that it only became a "problem" with regard to her in 9 is a bit disingenuous. Go look at her Deception alt and tell me you're fine with it, if this is the position you're taking. Sonya, same thing with her famous thong wedgie DA outfit. I personally felt that Sonya's DA costume was stupid and I'm someone who can handle seeing a little skin. MK9 might have been the "worst offender" to you guys in this regard, but to say that it wasn't a problem until then seems a bit off to me.

No, I'm implying that you don't know your history and that these things tend to operate on a slippery slope. Also, I'm implying that while Lieberman gave up his pursuit of robbing people of their fun, those who would agree with his politics have taken up the mantle in his place.

Where did I ever bring up inclusion in this conversation? You have the right to include your whining about the lack of T&A in a video game in this forum, no one said you didn't. I also have the right to include my opinion that it's silly and childish.
