Raiden's 2nd is better than the first but neither of his fatalities are very good, at least his brutalities are nice.

Raiden’s fatalities have always been dreadfully awful, and this time it’s no exception. Given his abilities, his fatalities need to be more epic and jaw dropping.

Not that fond about Raiden's Fatality's. They should be looking more at the original fatality's for inspiration. His fatality's now look like they're not using the lightning properly.

I disagree, I thought that Raiden fatality was pretty good.

Yeah! WTF is wrong with you random collection of people having varied opinions and both liking and disliking a particular pair of fatalities! Why can't you clean up your act like the reputable fansites and keep your opinions neutral!

Do I like it?

I still don't get the fetish they have of Raiden blowing up heads.

He's gonna be my main, so I guess it will be the same MKX formula: go for brutalities.

And once again his brutalities are glorious like in the previous games. Or even better.

Yeah Raiden's fatalities have been pretty under whelming thus far, they lack creativity and impact in my opinion. Oh well they can't all be great I guess at least The Thunder God's gameplay and brutalities are looking fantastic to make up for it!

His Super in Injustice 2 kicked so much ass though ^_^

So how and why are these randos getting preview copies of the game? It's too early for the stress test.

Hm.. i like his first one more. His second is ok but nothing special. Well... i liked both of his MKX fatalities. I think it involved his lightning powers better than in MK11. But overall both fatalities are OK.

It's good that you like them, I think the second one is ok but I really am not fond of the first one at all. It just makes no sense, he pulls his arms and legs off just to slap them back against him and then blasts him again without the character fully exploding. He only had one decent one in MKX as well, the bug eye thing was awful but his X-ray more than made up for it. In this game his brutalities are great, the lighting strike coming down and burning most of the flesh off could have been one of his fatalities, it's a lot better than his first fatality IMO. Other than his fatalities this is easily the best version of Raiden we've ever gotten, his projectile is actually a lightning bolt instead of a cosmic snowball and he has other moves that just make you look more like a supremely powerful being and not just any regular kombatant.

I wholeheartedly agree. Seems like there are people who don't know what opinions are and... oh no... might be different from others.
Apparantly you can't dislike something nor like something, you're always going to get belittled for it. The only thing to do is agree with everyone els, everybody happy. Or atleast those that can't handle difference of opinion.

Still don't really like the fatality's. Exploding with lightning: yes; burning with lightning: yes; dismemberment with lightning: not really. I still like is MK1 and MKII fatality's the most, also including is X-ray in MKX
Didn't he have a staff or something? Let him use that. Impale through the mouth, through the body, into the ground. Call on the lightning which hits the staff and fry the opponent 'till he's coal and smoke coming out of it.

I agree with some other people here though. With how they have stepped up the presentation of these fatalities to where they are almost mini cutscenes now, you would think they would do something better for Raiden?

I mean that was just lame dude. He uses electricity like a sword and then blows your head up? Reminding me of some of the weaker Fatalities of MK9 there.

He's the god of thunder, surely he can do better than that?

Fly them up into a thunder cloud, have lighting coming at them from all sides and roast them. Impale them with his staff and stick them up in the air and use them as a lightning rod. Have a long sustaining lighting bolt impale them and have them die a gruesome boiling crispy electric death

Why does is it almost always dismemberment with the god of thunder?

The inspiration for Raiden's Fatalities in this game seems to be, "We've seen lots of electrocutions. What about magnetism? Is there something we can do with that?"

I don't think the results were terrible.... Though especially with the one with the limbs being pulled, they come off a bit nonsensical, the same way his MK9 organ rip did. Killing somebody off with unnecessary theatrics seems appropriate to Scorpion's more elaborate Fatalities, but not so much for Raiden. Raiden can show off, but I think it would fit better if his showing off was a display of supreme power rather than creative execution.

Here's an idea that keeps the basic concept of magnetism while keeping closer to his characterization:

Raiden slowly rises into the air, like a god. He reaches out and lighting shoots from his hands, passing into the victim's forehead. The victim levitates off the ground, suspended between the bolts entering their head from Raiden's fingers, and a crackling web of smaller arcs pushing their body up from the ground below. The victim rises -- limbs outstretched, face turned skyward with an awestruck expression as their eyes smoke out, like a divine ascension. Raiden draws them up to his level, face to face, then abruptly calls off his lightning -- leaving the victim hanging momentarily in the air. Raiden gazes down into their hollow sockets as they don't quite ascend to his eye level, with a searching look of disappointment on his face as they choke out a dying breath. Then, judging the victim unworthy, he summons an apocalyptic surge of lightning from the sky like Thor Fucken Ragnarok and the victim explodes.

Camera cuts to the ground level just as the mega-bolt hits. When the flash subsides, Raiden's staff is revealed with the victim's head impaled upon it. Blood and chunks rain down in slow motion.

FATALITY! Raiden Wins.

How do we know if we want to be spoiled if we don't know what it's in relation to?

Anyway.... as others have said: Raiden's fatalities have always been lackluster - he usually just stands there electricuting someone until they blow up... or partially blow up.

I think his MKX / Injustice2 X-rays are great and something like that would make for a much better Fatality. Heck, even just impaling them on his staff (like Vlad the Impaler) and using it as a lightning rod would be better than his usual stuff.

I like both fatalities. Neither of Raiden's are great, as usual, but they are passable. The SNES version of "Rayden's" fatality is still my favorite of his.

Raiden's always had some lackluster fatalities.

His First Fatality in X was fantastic though.
