Just to riff on Barakall’s good thread on realistic characters, I’d be curious to know which characters that you doubt we’ll see in MK11 on the base roster or as DLC would you still like to see in MK11?
Honorable Mention: Drahmin, Nitara, Reiko
Skarlet: I’d like to see the red ninja return. The whole blood magic thing could be cool if iterated upon, maybe in to a sort of witch-like space and I want to see more of her without being under Shao Khan. The comic showed some of her potential, but I think she has even more.
Baraka: Kinda feels like he can’t catch a break. He always seems to be someone’s lackey and then he gets offed in MKX. I don’t want many remnants returning, but with a darker, perhaps cloaked look and the return of his black eyes, I think having him fight to regain his place among the living, maybe down trodden Tarkatans with the goal of leading them out of servitude could be a cool angle for him. Plus he’s just flat out fun to use.
Kira: Perhaps the most controversial pick given her utter lack of an original movelist, I still see plenty of untapped potential in her. Her background in MKD made her seem tough and gritty, and I think she could be a perfect foil for Cassie as perhaps a reformed Black Dragon assassin with trust issues in both directions. With a revamped movelist, I think she could be a solid addition.
Kai: With Cassie firmly entrenched as the chosen one, I think a cool timeline play here would be having a version of Kai that’s the chosen one in the old timeline and someone that got cheated out of that, in a sense, in the new one. An honorable champion versus a lost warrior. That coupled with a vastly expanded capoeira arsenal and some crazy fireball shenanigans could make for a really interesting character.
Mavado: I’m probably alone on an island here, but this character has the foundation of a great character and I mean all time great. Now on a 2D plane, NRS has the chance to use those elastic bands of his in a wide variety of fun and compelling ways. Think Omega Red in X-Men: Children of the Atom turned up to eleven. I also think he has a cool look and I wouldn’t mind seeing what the Red Dragon has become in the new timeline.

- Sareena
- Hotaru
- Ashrah
- Dairou
- Kintaro

Great question.
- Drahmin- A very underrated character. He’s basically a blank slate and current gen graphics would really suit the rotting aesthetic they were going for in Deadly Alliance.
- Kai- My favorite non-trilogy character from MK4.
- Nitara- Not a lot to really say about her. She’s a character that could really benefit from a refreshed backstory and design. I’d say she’s easily a fan favorite in the making, despite the vampire trend pretty much dying out.
- Movado- Another underrated DA character. He’s a little bland in the story department, but I think his gameplay could translate really well to a 2D fighting plane.
- Meat- I really don’t know why...he’s just always been a dumb, fun character.

- Sheeva - I just think a female Shokan is a cool character type.
- Kai - I like the archetype of an African monk type character similar to Liu Kang or Kung Lao.
- Nitara - She's a vampire! I mean, c'mon. If done right that's a great character, perfect fit for MK.
- Drahmin - Another perfect fit character type for MK, as a demonic monster. Love his mask and his mace-arm. I also think he has a cool backstory as a former Outworld warlord who died and went to the Neatherrelam.
- Shujinko - I always liked the idea of an old kung fu master type character. He's sort of similar to old Shang Tsung in MK1 but a good guy.
Honestly, I've been totally content with the roster line-ups for the past two MK installments. However, it's always a pleasant surprise to see some of the more disappointing characters receive a much-needed overhaul (Bo Rai Cho, for example).

There you go, finding a hidden advantage in an unfortunate circumstance; using pain to take you to the next level. Those are the things that turn players into kings.
guest wise
duke nukem
issac clark from dead space
pennywise
chucky ( reboots on the way)
the crow ( brandon lee movie version) or john wick

Save a life; Kill a necromorph
Bi han as Sub Zero while having Noob Saibot as independant character from Bi Han. Lets face it, I would be surprised that Netherrealm goes that route.
IF Bi Han returns, I would like Sareena returns as well. having her to free him.

Kai - I don't care how much fans on here like to riff on him, he was a great idea and had an awesome design with the body tattoo and Earth needs a new warrior. Liu Kang and Kitana ruling Edenia is their only rightful place and he would be great warrior to step up. None of the new descendants are serious enough to be a successor. His MK Armageddon design ruined him however, they completely went away from his simple but effective design. Not every character needs a lot of extras design wise, his was simple but amazing. Even the name is great. Truly a character that will we never see again, but still a great one nonetheless.
Moloch - great idea and has a lot of potential, but doubt we'll ever see him again. I love evil monsters and with the ball on a chain there's so much you can do, but he was one-and-done for sure.
Havik - I have him as realistic, since story wise hae makes sense and Kittelsen sees his potential and made him great in the comics. Still, I don't realistically think he has a shot. I get it a bit too, since he was awful to play with in MKD - silly fighting style - and basically a skeleton with a helmet. However, I like many on here like him and I think potentially he could be one of the best. He just needs to be given a lot of moves that makes the opponent dizzy, out of their element and such. Design wise if they look at the army of the dead in Lord of the Rings - which kind of resembles Havik already - then they can do something truly amazing.
Baraka - same as Havik, I think he could realistically return, but given how NRS seems clueless to what he brings to MK then it's hopeless. I mean, his face with the spikes hasn't looked better than it did in MKX and he still couldn't make it. And people can disagree all they want, loads of people who remember Mortal Kombat actually recognise him as one of the most memorable ones. Baraka is MK!
Nightwolf - his place has been taken by Kotal Kahn as the spiritually inspired warrior from the Americas. I still think he has great potential if they work on his design and not just have him as a typical native american who shoots spiritual / energy arrows. With Kung Jin now also taking his weapon, highly doubt we'll see him again. Ironically, he could work perfectly as we now have Erron Black the cowboy in the game.

I think it's interesting how almost everyone who has answered here has put Kai on their list.

You know, this might why he is getting so much play on this thread.
I wouldn't say never. Belokk could be a good candidate for another Skarlet or Tremor type character.

I feel any character that has appeared in an MK game before is realistic enough to possibly happen, so I'm going to stick with unrealistic guest characters, in order from unlikely to absolutely absurd:
1) Batman
2) Deadpool
3) Anyone from Street Fighter
4) Anyone from Final Fantasy 7 - 13
5) Link from Legend of Zelda

Lulu from FFX looks like she could be Quan Chi's sister. I can picture her using her Moogle doll in her fatality. :P

I thought that was interesting as well. I do think he has a lot of potential, but I wasn’t aware that people were down on him around here. Nice to see he has some other fans besides me, at the very least.

Certainly any MK is theoretically possible, but I think there’s still a spectrum. Sub Zero is s more realistic option than Hsu Hao. Now to what degree, is certainly debatable, but if you were to guess at the most likely characters to make it in, I’m assuming there are some that you might want to see that you think are less likely to make it in to the game for various reasons. Care to throw out a few of those characters? If not, no problem.

The thing is, I really didn't like the majority of the new characters introduced between MK4 and Armageddon. Frost and Kenshi are the two from that period that I liked the most and while Frost definitely isn't a certainty I think it's likely she would at least be an alternate Sub-Zero skin, and I would be fairly surprised if Kenshi didn't make it in. Fujin is a character that I didn't really like or dislike, but with Raiden going dark again I would like to see him show up again to first try and make him see reason, and then when that fails to lead the heroes against him. Li Mei was interesting, but I haven't really missed her either. As for Kai, I thought he was rather boring and forgettable, so I wouldn't be very interested in seeing him return. The rest of the characters from that period I wouldn't be sad if they never returned. So if I were to put a MK only list together it would be mostly klassic characters who were killed off in MK9 and MKX, and the first three on my list I think are very likely to return in MK11 anyway:
1) Frost
2) Fujin
3) Mileena (MKX was the first time I started to actually like her character, and her tower ending makes her ressurection plausible)
4) Baraka (been my favorite of Shao Kahn's warriors since his debut in MK2)
5) Stryker (I know he isn't exactly popular, but I always thought his 'normal guy caught up in a supernatural invasion' backstory was a good change of pace)
EDIT: I just realized that I left out a character I really like and feel has a lot of potential, but has hardly made any appearances in the series: Khameleon. Since I'm fairly certain Mileena will probably make it in I'll scratch her from my list and replace her with Khameleon.

Pick any 5 MK characters that would be on the roster bubble. They'll get shoved aside for guests.
For a more serious answer:
- Kai - Ridiculously unlikely that he even gets explored now that Raiden has gone insane, but I've always felt that Kai has potential to be an important character if he were written differently enough from Liu Kang. I think his chance to come back came and went with MKX as that would've been the natural progression, but if he ever does return, I'll welcome it.
- Sareena - I'm not sure exactly how unlikely her return truly is, but she gets a spot here because she hasn't had much exposure through the years. If we're expecting Noob back, I think that Sareena's inclusion in MK11 is only natural. There are a good number of story hooks to be explored with her and I'd hate to see them ignored.
- Skarlet - Tremor too, for that matter, because I don't think we see either again in MK11 or perhaps for a while after, either. I liked the effort that NRS put into making Skarlet a character that people care about and I think they can take the small bit of development she got in the comics and run with it.
- Chameleon/Khameleon - Even if they're just secret fights rather than playable (or hell, maybe even bring back the Challenge Tower to include one or both) I wouldn't mind seeing these guys make an appearance. It could be just to give Reptile something to do in Story Mode other than the bidding of someone else for a bit, I'd still be down to see one or both return.
- Ashrah - She's another logical choice if Noob and/or Sareena returns. It'd be cool to see her demon hunting story arc pick back up in this timeline, though I doubt she'd get any sort of significant screen time in MK11's Story Mode. Probably a DLC character if she were to come back.

the fire fly family from rob zombies house of 1000 corpses and devils rejecs

Sareena. PLEASE. She has such good chemistry with Bi-Han.
Tremor. I like what they did with him.
I can't think of any more.

1. King Jerrod
2. Hornbuckle
3. Oniro
4. Kobra
5. Creeper from Jeepers Creepers

<img src=http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb424/astro407/Baraka407---Baraka-Sig---GIF1.gif?t=1302751589
1. scorpion
2. sub zero
3.raiden
4.shao kahn
5, liu kang
LOL

Mavado
Hsu Hao
Chameleon
Stryker
Tremor
Stryker: He was always one of my favorite characters as a kid, haha. I liked the idea of a relatively "normal guy" fighting against the insanity that is Outworld. Johnny Cage is really that concept too, just filtered through the prism of Mortal Kombat's mysticism. Still, I won't complain about seeing Stryker in a Mortal Kombat game.
Sektor: For some reason, Sektor has never really been a favorite to plop into games. Even when the story is there, he seems to be dropped in favor of other people. Cyrax got some good development, I'd like to see Sektor get his chance. I wouldn't even mind exploring a "Human Sektor," which would require his backstory be expanded upon.
Mavado: For some reason, this guy is really disliked. Maybe it's gameplay reasons? I always dug the dude's story though. That there is an organization that exists that even the Special Forces didn't know about, and that he got to make Kabal and Kano his bitches and was Sonya's worst enemy before she even knew who he was always appealed to me. I'd like to see him updated.
Li Mei: I'm not a massive fan of the character, and I don't feel that she is that important, but her development in Deception made her a lot more interesting than she was in Deadly Alliance. Still, some good guys from Outworld are appreciated.
Bo' Rai Cho: I know he's not a super-popular character, but the drunken master has always appealed to me. I don't love the farting, but the spitting of alchol into fire is actually a pretty brutal Fatality. I like what he added to Liu Kang and Kung Lao and he fit the lore.
I had a dream that when they revealed the new game (this is going back years now), the two characters they used to advertise it were Sheeva and Nightwolf. How would that be for an unrealistic reveal?

that will never happen expecially when the creator was busted for child porn. it was a huge story before the third flick came out
