I hope the gear and kustomization is not the same as in Injustice 2
I remember collection gear en making character variations, and then realising my buddies could not pick them as they were linked to my account. This was one of the biggest letdowns about Injustice 2.

I really hope MK11 does not go the same path as Injustice 2 does.
What do you guys think?

The special moves are not tied to gear and they will unlocked from the start.

What I really meant was alternate costumes and such.
A guest player 2 could never pick the loadouts/gear/costumes as player 1.

I am not sure about alternate costumes but I am pretty sure many will be unlocked form the start. In the reveal event there were more than 10 to pick for each character.

In the reveal, each character had the following...

3 Primary Costumes, each available in 4 colors, so 12 total (Colors were not super-customizable, each of the 3 skins was just available in 4 preset palletes. No word yet if more pallettes are unlockable, but it seems likely)

The primary costume covered about 80% of the character's outfit. Clothing from the neck down & at least some headgear in many cases.

Above and beyond the primary costumes, each character ALSO had 3 customizable accessories, which could be changed freely above & beyond the primary outfit. Scorpions were his mask, spear & sword. Skarlets were her mask, dagger & blood vials. Raiden his amulet, hat & staff. Etc, etc

The 3 accessories each had 5 options in the demo build, and were in no way bound to any particular costume, and could be changed willy nilly. The accessories each had 3 sockets on them, which can reportedly be equipped with modifiers. I've heard the modifiers are apparently consumed, and not permanent? Though I'm not certain.

SO... In the demo each character gets...

Choice of 1 Main Outfit, 3 style options, 4 colors each (for 12 total)
3 Accessories, 5 options each, can be changed freely for tons of permutations

It's virtually guaranteed there will be more outfits, accessories & probably colors to unlock. We've already seen a DLC outfit for Skarlet (being advertised as Russian exclusive, but I could see it being released worldwide down the road) not to mention they clearly show of Klassic Scorpion in the original trailer, and he was nowhere to be seen in the demo, so... we can ASSUME Klassic Scorpion's skin will popup somewhere, I expect.

All that said, the new system seems like it has a lot to play with, but it's also more restrictive than many people are assuming. For instance, unmasked Scorpion isn't possible at present, because Scorpion has no unmasked option (Wheras Sub-Zero & Skarlet do). Also people are assuming Skarlet's hair might be customizable, but at present it's not. Her hair/hat is tied to her 3 main outfits, 2 of which have hats, 1 of which has the pixie cut we've already seen. So if you use 2 of her 3 outfits, she'll ALWAYS have a hat, and if you use the third, she'll ALWAYS have the pixie cut. Beyond that, her hair is in no way customizable. Wheras SONYA'S hair IS customizable, because it's tied to her head accessories. So when you change Sonya's head accessory, her hair changes along with it.
