We want KONQUEST MODE MK Deception style since 2004. Who is lying to you that this mode is kool? Stop doing that krap and give us KONQUEST!

I prefer story mode.

At least you can use almost all characters, rather than the stupid Shujinko or the bland Taven.

I ran right up to Boon and said “Asesino insists on more story mode”. Boon obviously obliged and said, “you gotta give the people what they want, especially if that people is Asesino”. He says hi, by the way.

Konquest mode was better, but Story mode is an adequate replacement.

They need to change the format so that each character gets the same amount of exposure and development as they did with the simple Bios from the old games. Something like the format in the KI story mode would be great.

They should totally bring Deception style Konquest mode back, but instead of playing some random newbie, you can select certain fighters(if not all) on the roster for the adventure. THAT would be awesome. But would take a shit ton of work.

Story Mode is a bore. Cut scene. Fight. Cut scene. Fight. Cut scene. Fight. Cut scene. Fight. Then it's over for another three years.

I wish they would allow you to choose a character, enter the Mortal Kombat tournament and the story would pan out as if that person won the tournament.

It would be a combination of the current ladder mode and story mode.

I don't like the idea of choosing a character for Konquest mode, or choosing a character for story mode, frankly. That just makes every mode as non-definitive and "what if" as Arcade mode...

I like the lore in this game, and as messy as it often is, I try to do my best to piece it together. The one nice thing about story mode & konquest mode before it is it creates a fairly definitive narrative for each game. We still get a little bit of "what if" thrown in through the potential paths presented in arcade mode, and like the old days, some of it sticks, and some of it gets discarded...

But I like having one main, fairly concrete story to follow for each game. I would not enjoy having 25 "what if" scenarios for the plot of the entire game.

Especially when the next game came out, and none of them proved to be definitive. (Because they'd most assuredly still weld bits and pieces from each one together.)

You people work for Havik don't you? (lol)

I'm not advocating for elements of "what if". I'm just asking that all characters be fleshed out as they were in the 6th gen games and before. Too many are just used as lackey's to pad out story mode fights or fill out the background in the Story mode.

konquest mode is a story mode if you really think about it. the whole point of deception was shujinkos journey on finding the kamidogu poieces to give onega wich leads to the mkd intro same for amrmageddon in terms of taven and aegon

or if nrs sticks with the rpg elements from mkd why not create a kharacter for story/conquest mode? whatever decidions you make in the game affect your progress like have the option to join the white lotus the shira ryu or lin kuie black dragon spec ops or go your own path and decide if you wanna represent earth realm or shao khan

I like story mode, I just wish they’d expand it by incorporating more ideas and letting go of the chapter element.

Show me more of what’s happening outside of my current character. Interrupt fights with events. Banish quick time events from MK’s existence. Have fights where I have to face more than one opponent, or where I start with lower health or I’m poisoned or bleeding or powered up. Explore more intricate and thought provoking themes and make the characters smarter and more believable in their decisions and how they move the plot along.

As for MKD’s konquest mode, I thought there were some good ideas, but the graphics were super bland, the characters were wooden, the meditating until you hit a certain hour was annoying and made finding characters a pain, Shujinko wasn’t an interesting character and most of the characters felt like one off cameos. The world didn’t feel like I was immersed in MK. Shaolin Monks did a much better job of that IMO.

Mall that said, I did like the idea of actively playing through an MK story. I think we have that now though, without all the speed running and meditating. In an ideal world, they’d find a way to make a compelling adventure mode that was immersive and fun to play, while fully conveying a deep and intricate story that they wanted to tell.

To me, Konquest mode, even back when it first came out, didn’t really check any of those boxes for me, as much as I wanted to like it. So I’ll take story mode and get that full component even if it doesn’t check every box.

If you all liked Konquest mode, then more power to you, no doubt. We all like what we like and as much as I basically just crapped all over it, I can definitely see how and why it appealed to people. I’m just saying I prefer story mode, even if it’d be awesome if they could find more ways to expand upon it and maybe even incorporate some adventure elements.

I'd take a Konquest mode (MKD or MKA style) over story mode any time any day.

MKD Konquest told the story of the realms and was a really cool concept. Even if u hated Shujinko, you will still enjoy environment and what's going on. It had great music btw that set up the feeling of MK.

That's said, they won't ditch Story mode , simply because it's a working formula, it's loved by many people and helps expand the game to bigger audience. I am sure you realize that the percentage of people who finished Konquest mode is so slim compared to the total sales.

What they can do, is port MK11 to next gen, establish a scene for MK and then develop an adventure game instead of a regular fighter. Then they can use the system for mini adventure modes in to the games or just alternate adventure and regular fighter releases.

I really would love puzzle kombat. It was well done and bring this theme back

J'aime beaucoup Story Mode. It's fun. Conquest was OK, too, but I don't think they'd put that much effort into a non-fighting mode nowadays.

I LOVE the story modes they do now, for something like Konquest I'd rather they did that as a separate game, sort of like a more open world shaolin monks type of game.

I gotta say man, I actually do like the story mode. In MK9 I had my issues with it because it retconned and erased a lot of the original story that I really liked. However, as NRS continued to build on their storytelling and cinematics, I began to like it more and more. I think MKX's story was good, and Injustice 2 seemed to have a good one. I think now that the series is past the retelling of the older games and moving onto telling brand new tales, it is doing much better.

Some of the things I like about the story mode is that it can put focus on multiple characters which allows each one to shine, it tells a satisfying and concise tale. When done right, it works like a movie, except you play through the action sequences.

Konquest mode is good too, and it definitely has potential. Some pros include being able to explore a world and experience some side-quests and pieces of the lore at your leisure. The negatives is mainly the focus on a single character rather than a large portion of the cast. I also think some might find it a little jarring to play another mode with a completely separate gameplay compared to the central Kombat; it kind of makes it feel like two separate games. Overall, I definitely think Konquest mode is charming and has its benefits, but I'm still really liking the new story mode.

A lot of people enjoy story mode, me being one of them.

Konquest would distract the developers from the core of the game... Konquest should never make a return. If they're going to do anything like that, it needs to be just a game on its own, not a side game to a main fighting title.

I love Deception's Konquest mode, but I accepted a long time ago that it ain't comin' back. We'll get Chess Kombat back before we get Konquest. I enjoy story mode. It's certainly a step above most of the competition and is leagues better than Armageddon's Konquest.

Story mode's okay but it means very little to me. As a single player it's nice but I've no investment in these characters' lives. Got my favorites for fighting and certain characters have a stronger presence which attracts, but as for what's going on in their world; doesn't resonate.

Konquest was like a whole free game in both Deception and Armageddon. Excellent! I don't expect its return but it would be preferable.

I know many enjoy the story. It's probably cheaper to produce than Konquest. Plus it frees more resource for the main game, which is paramount. So it's probably best to continue as is.

I also prefer story mode - it's actually my favourite part of the game. I've always loved the lore of the characters and story, so I'm stoked! I remember Writting out all the character Bios as a kid before the internet haha.

Konquest should be seperate and it's own game.
