Who wants an Erron Black spinoff? *Spoilers from his ending*

A lot of people are asking for a Shaolin Monks 2, but I gotta ask, what exactly would that game be about? And why an SM sequel instead of a game that focuses on another character who hasn't gotten that treatment yet?

I agree. There are plenty of stories within MK that could use this type of medium. The Shaolin Monks have gotten more than most already. A Scorpion/Subby game would be similar to Mythologies and their story has been told more than the monks. A Great Kung Lao game with new/old characters would be sweet. I can imagine people like the original Lin Kuei or Shira Ryu clan members, a samurai or other ancient warrior, and some new Outworlders with younger versions of old ones.

We don't need a remake of something just because it happened and it was bad. We certainly don't need to do a game based on concepts from a guy who quit the team 15 years ago. It would be a step back.
I also feel like the idea of an Erron Black spinoff like RDR didn't go beyond "we have a cowboy, let's have a cowboy game".
I'm all for Mortal Kombat branching out in other genre but not at the sake of the main series. And with NRS busy with both the Injustice and MK fighting series, I wouldn't want them to spend time on a new game on the scale of RDR if they don't have the proper resources to work on it.
That being said I would love to see a sandbox game where you go throught the realms with different characters so you can either use weapons or your fists. It would appeal to a lot of people. Deception Konquest meets Shaolin Monks.

It wouldn't necessarily have to focus on Kang and Lao again. Just as long as it's still adventure style with the same fluid gameplay.
Personally, I'd be all for one that follows the storyline of the current comics. Filling the gaps (Sektor's death, Jade and Cyrax's whereabouts, Kamidogu, Goro's arms, Erron and Ferra/Torr's beginnings, ect.) would be nice with the off-kilter time jumping. Especially since it seems people are enjoying the comics more so than the game's story.

I wouldn't even mind if we were playing a new character that met the regular kast. It would be even simpler this way. It can even be cliche.
You create your own character based on a few MK archetypes and you travel the realms looking for a lost scroll that contains the ultimate technique. Along the way, you meet, train and help every big name, giving you new special moves.

I would much rather have a spinoff centered around the Seido/Chaosrealm rivalry than a Shaolin Monks 2 with the same old characters.
Seriously? I am, honestly baffled by the amount of love this guy is getting around here. When he was in the comics you guys really talked him up and I was amped to see this Ninja Clint Eastwood in action and then when he made his game debut...I find the guy to be as lackluster and forgettable as Movado. The only thing note worthy about him is his voice. But everything else is so dry. Nothing he ever says reveals much about him other than what is said in the Bio "He goes where the money is" Yeah we don't have characters like that already.
Sorry I know I'm ranting I just do not get it.
His design is really jumbled and bland (like many of the designs in MKX) and he has almost no personality or story at all. He's just there.

People like Erron, so what? Nobody needs to question a characters popularity.

Aside from gameplay (which, again, is phenomenal), really the only other things Erron has going for him pertaining to story at this point is the elimination of Jax (cueing his much needed temporary retirement) and his ties to Shang Tsung.
His personality has grown on me a bit, but I'm still not completely sold on that yet. Like someone said earlier, I was surprised he didn't receive his own chapter in story mode.
Just makes me think that they're keeping that "mysterious" vibe for a reason. Open-ended possibility for future installments.
