Anyone not happy with all the battle damage?
So far I'm happy with how the new MK is looking. The battle damage is a plus for me since I like to see my opponent get messed up instead of looking pretty. If some of you dont like it then dont get hit, go for that flawless victory and you can keep your cloths nice and neat!
I love it. too few fighting games employ this feature. It fits MK perfectly, don't you think? Like mini-fatalities before the fight is over lol. I also love the bone breaking stuff. This game will make many bystanders wince in delight and thinly veiled interest while shaking their heads in mock disgust. I loves it.

It's all relative. To you, Sonya's side boobage is super revealing, but I remember back in 92 or 93 when MK2 came out in arcades and what Kitana and Mileena wore back then was considered to be extremely revealing. Knee high boots and what basically amounts to a one piece bathing suit and elbow high gloves? That was pretty revealing back then.
But as the games have gone on, the women have been revealing more and more. A more extreme example of what I'm talking about can be seen in the very next game UMK3 (well, okay, not the VERY next game, but you see what I'm saying).
In that game, the ninjas were wearing knee high boots, gloves and the one piece again, only this time there were criss-cross laces over a fairly revealing amount of cleavage.
To you, the difference between that type of outfit and the clothing damage of the new MK game might seem like night and day, but I really don't think that in a gaming industry that has had actual human nudity (BMX XXX and the Guy Game), sex scenes (the Hot Coffee incident, God of War) and a full 15 years since UMK3's cleavage outfits to become even more hypersexualized should fans really look at today's MK characters clothes and drop their jaws and wag their fingers at what's happening.
It's not as though the MK team is on the forefront here, blazing some new trail of oversexualization in video games. As I said, others have done it too a FAR greater extreme and as I've illustrated, it's not as if this is unprecedented territory for MK games. The outfits were risque way back in the early/mid 90's. The fact that they're going further to the edge now barely speaks to how the times have changed since then.
Barely. It's really not even that bad. Not by a long shot. Not with what's going on the industry these days.

You're complaining about people complaining... That makes perfect sense.
Not to mention, the title of this thread is asking people if we're satisfied with battle damage or not. So, it would be likely to see some complaints.
So i don't see the problem, people complained about this game since day one, you should be used to it by now.

I can't complain cause I think it is such an amazing look for the game, It truly is the mature fighting game franchises on the market
So far I am OK with the battle damage, the only that is letting me down about it is the new sindel scans, the sonya battle damage is ridiculous. I hope that this is the maximum available damage because if it goes any less she might as well wear a thin towel and nothing else 'cause that is what i fell like it is getting to. Apart from that Im quite excited about it. I just hope they don't go overboard.

This is gonna go off topic real quick. I see what you are saying about perspective, that certainly has changed over the years for better or worse. But the outfits, especially now with battle damage, simply show more skin. That's not "relative", that's fact. Either one outfit shows more skin than another or it doesn't. In this case, it does. Quite a bit.

I love the battle damgae it adds so much to the brutality of a fight.
I would like to see more damage to the bodies and faces than clothing, but I am fascinated by physical damage.
However, if a character has more clothes than exposed flesh, you should expect more clothing damage on them, right? What does battle damage Mileena look like? Anyone know? Any broken teeth? I would expect this for both her and Baraka.

Keep the battle damage, just add an option of turning it off. Problem solved. What is the big deal? There have been options of turning off blood and fatalities in previous MK games so why would this be a problem?

Why does every topic and every conversation have to be about the costumes of the females?

Love the posts Baraka407
I'm happy with it. It adds a bit of realism but in a MK way where it's completely over the top.
I think an option to turn it off would be great as it removes any complaints on either side of the coin. Also if you don't want to see your character brutalised then don't get hit or loose.
On the female's clothes. They are very revealing but it is to be expected as they have in past MK titles. The target audience is young males so half dressed females will go down well with them.

You'll still be stained with the opponent's blood, the only way to stay ''clean'' is to turn the blood off and not getting hit.

The only prob I have with it is the it happens to fast! I'm going to guess the normal setting is win two rounds and if your all ready that beat up before the first round is over whats left if there is a 3rd round? I love the look of the dmg I don't mind if you sonya is showing part of her boob, i better get to see cages ass tho!.
I just feel they need to slow down how fast it happens.

Looks fine to me.
It's obviously slanted in favor of nakedness in the case of the ladies, but we should be expecting that. it's not going to change.
I like it a great deal otherwise, especially the fractured jaw. My hope is that at some point in a future game, damage visible on the character actually corresponds to where they've been hit (up to a point) - would be bloody painful-looking to have your character missing an eye because he took one of Reptile's X-Rays.

This.
MK fans complaining about gore of all things? Y'all fuckers are crazy.
The only thing the team needs to do is include the no battle damage option.
