I liked him, I think he should use light powers :). He should REALLY be DLC, but people will just treat him as another Mokap :( So he needs an involvement in the story, not just as a redshirt, but as JC's best fan/friend

The series has plenty of expandable characters from MK4-MKA that can be built up again before we start introducing even more new people from movies and other media - especially throwaway characters like Art, that exist only to prove that the Outworld creatures are not to be fucked with.

I meant no disrespect. Out of the two, I would rather my guy, but I honestly don't want either. What I do find interesting, is lets say Art Lean was actually in the first MK GAME, same story and all. Purists would be BEGGING for him in this game and beyond. Same with unnamed dreadlocked bo fighting tiger growling guy. Perhaps Darius and Kai may never have existed. Oh wait...

I gotta say, the irony of someone arguing FOR Art Lean but AGAINST the whole cast of Deadly Alliance and Deception is pretty amusing.

Yes. Seriously. I'll grant that Darrius was crap, but Dairou was the series' first honest to god bounty hunter, and a revamp could save him. Nitara has a number of fans asking for her return, Shujinko was very well developed (but again, bad moveset), Hotaru was a great representative for the new realm of Seido, and Drahmin had a great backstory.

Cripes, if you want an Earthrealm martial artist - the 'basics' - bring back Kobra. There is no good reason to have a throwaway background character present over even the worst of those guys.

If thats the case, then, Siro Taja & Vorpax deserve a spot.

This is purely based on opinion. I like a lot of the newer characters.

Darrius and Dairou I don't care much about... but Hotaru, Drahmin and Nitara are fucking killer IMO. I also like Havik a lot. I don't like this trend of "let's hate everything post MK4.

I was just trying to say that if the guys made a reboot, with an alternate reality, that's maybe not only for fan service. There are trying to drop all the bad things post UMK3. Ed Boon himself and other guys from Midway/NRS told they didn't like a bunch of characters from these games. That's pretty sad.

As for Art Lean, I'm not begging for it. I just thought that was a cool idea. Nothing more.

Well, they could just include Nimbus Terrafaux. The MK-team did say they were going to be including rumored characters, and Nimbus Terrafaux is, essentially, Art Lean. That is, they're both African American boxers from the MK1 era.

The game could use more legit martial artists though. Not just freaks and deities.
