The reward for clearing 300 is kinda a let down...

I'm a little torn whether this is a good or bad thing.

I find all these little additions like Test your Balance, Test your Slice, Meat and Tremor's cameos amusing... but at the same time, I'm terrified that MK will return to gimmicky and terrible gameplay and character design.

I don't even want a damn sequel at the moment. That is, I don't want them to continue the story of which they so mangled. I just want them to spend time balancing, improving and creating new characters, stages and perfecting their current engine.

Make MK9 perfect, then give us MK10 with UMK9 as a base.

I finally beat challenge 150. The prize is Skarlet, Kenshi and Rains alternate costumes :(

not only that but I heard Rain doesn't actually have an Alternate just his UMK3 classic costume just like how Cyber Sub-Zero only has his MK3 classic.

We can make a small observation of NeRdS ́ DLC policy: The first two characters had an alternative costume made – as it was "promised" – but in the half-way they decided to leave it there because no one demands Freddy's alt and well, Rain fans became already happy. Then they created the rest of the content using any "surplus" they had left, almost. I mean, they could have released Kabal's healthy look and The Heavens for one.

Meh, I can see why they never released a Cop-Kabal costume, he doesn't have powers in that form. They consciously made the way the moves look fit the characters this time, and he needs a mask to shoot his purple fireball out of, it'd look silly just coming out of his face.

That is true but consistency hasn't slowed down the developers from giving Human Sektor the ability to shoot infinite missiles, Ermac gettting a MKII costume or Kenshi Alt from having the hado powers and Sento. It would've brought variety to the recent ninja-esque additions, non-canonically of course.

Is there any room for more characters or a icon that moves when you select someone like the DLC in regular MK9? The extra rumored characters were on wiki labeled as further DLC for the game.

Now I wouldn't be suprised if Tremor and Meat are the extras if any.

Don't give two shits about Tremor, but I'm curious as to whether there is artwork for the DLC already available in the Nekropolis/Krypt as promised. That guy on the TRMK forum said there is nothing new about the Krypt, so is that stuff free and available to look at?
Edit: Nevermind, they do. In fact, all damage concepts are unlocked already. There's a 'pinup' of Mileena and Sindel, DLC characters' baby models, DLC character's damage pics, fatality concept pieces, DLC characters' fatality unlock codes, and a few alternate concepts.
Also, DLC characters now have Challenge Tower win poses.

How do you know Kenshi's alt is a pre-blindness costume and not just a different pair of duds where he decided not to wear the blindfold? Do his eyes have pupils in that one?
Besides, it's not quite a fair comparison. Kabal shooting fireballs out of an unmasked face would be more like if Kenshi's outfit had no sword at all but he still had all the same moves so he swung his hands as though he were holding onto something but there's nothing there.
