Current Ruler of Outworld

Sonic 2 Meets Mortal Kombat?!

Let me get this straight:

(Spoilers for those who still haven't finished the game)


Shao Kahn is dead, and Sindel (+Shang Tsung) was disintegrated by our good chap Nightwolf (along with himself). Kitana is also dead.

So that means the only remaining character with 'royal blood' over Outworld still alive is Mileena. However, this timeline's incarnation of Mileena portrays her as being childlike in terms of mental development...

Would she be fit as the current ruler of Outworld? Or do you guys reckon that someone else would have to be the caretaker so to speak until she becomes responsible enough to rule the realm? Who would be most likely to do this job? Goro/Kintaro/Sheeva? Baraka? Or a centaur? Or someone else random?

I'm hoping for Reiko to be "Karetaker" or a Steward of the Throne, mainly so he get's to wear a "Shao Kahn" helmut, as he can't get in trouble for wearing it anymore.

I agree I'd love to see Reiko but if he appears again he will likely be treated as Baraka and Reptile were in MK9.

As for the current ruler....Hhmm a Civial War sort of thing would be cool, Tarkatans loyal to Mileena, maybe the Shokan and Centaurs fueding for it, could be a somewhat interesting sub-plot a Civil war in outworld.

I would like to see Mileena take over, but with everyone saying that she's too kid-like to ever become a ruler... kinda disappoints me how no one would see that to be interesting.

In WoW, they had a kid ruler for the Alliance side for a bit... What makes Mileena any different, despite her personality?

Reiko's had that bit of a Shao Kahn-wannabe going for a bit hehe, this would be right up his alley I suppose.

I know it's a stretch, but I suppose imagining Mileena's current incarnation being leader of the Netherrealm would be kinda like promoting Johnny Cage to boss of Earthrealm IMO... sortof... :P But like you've said, it's been done in other instances. EDIT: Whoops, I mean Outworld, not Netherrealm!

I would see Reiko as ruler of Outworld but Shinnok or even Onaga maybe won't have the intentions to let things happen this way for a realm that they'll most likely invade in the future. So i care more or less about temporary rulers.

+ Yeah, with all the races/species that are in Outworld, now that Khan's dead a civil war for the throne is likely to happen.

Reiko's supposed to be dead right now, that's why he worked for Shinnok in MK4. General for Kahn long ago, then General for Hell, then back to General for Kahn.
Logically, the next time we see Outworld, the place should be in civil war. I mean, I can see Baraka backing Mileena in a bid for the throne, he already tried when they all thought Kahn was dead after MK2, but why would the Shokans or Centaurs follow her? Hell, why would anyone follow anyone? They only bowed to Kahn because of his godlike power, something nobody currently left alive in Outworld has.
Maybe Quan Chi will do the smart thing and let Zombie Sindel out of Hell to take the throne as a puppet-queen.

I want a war for the Outworld throne. That gives all of these potential rulers a reason to return to the series, particularly Mileena and Baraka, who do not have much of a purpose at the moment.... Other than making tiny, hideous babies together.

^ I would also love the idea of puppet Sindel... As long as real Sindel triumphs in the end... 'cause fuck Quan Chi.

could be interesting to have millena being emperoress in the next game. but rather it be reptile.

i'd like to have reptile become ruler because that could intergrate into the next installment. if there using similar storylines for mkda-mka. reptile becomes ruler is given the dragon egg by a shadow priest. gets hit with a beam of energy. onaga returns to reclaim his throne. reptile could become a serious player and become 2nd in command to onaga the ruler of outworld.

gives reptile more style and not a henchmen anymore. he needs some respect. even though he gets blown up by shinnok or quan - chi in mk4.

or onaga taking his throne back would also be fine.

Reiko isn't dead, at least not yet in this timeline, as he had a match with Kenshi in the Outworld tournament, I swear I heard Shao Kahn call them out for their fight after Kuai Liang was captured by the Lin Kuei.

Reiko as Kahn! I'd like the people of Outworld to believe Kahn is still alive by putting Reiko in his place with the armor and helmet. To avoid any civil war or uprising, this could work.
Maybe half way through the game you beat Reiko and unmask him and Outworld realizes he's an impostor. Then a civil war can break out. That's when Quan Chi and Shinnok take Outworld.

Rain could go for it. Edenia is still part of Outworld after MK9.

And if you're concerned about royal blood, there's always *Prince* Goro....

I'd like to see Mileena in charge though, just for the lulz.

I say Baraka should have this position. He is the most feared out of any villan in Outworld. He is totally kickass in MK 2011. Baraka's alt costume is totally phat!

Well the way I see things going dow is that Mileena becomes ruler, the Shokans, and Centaurs are less then thrilled and revolt. Then Shinok invades and shit really hits the fan.

For immaturity, I would see Mileena as an unlikely candidate for this duty. It could be, however, that Mileena's mentality grows after the physical form. Meaning that Mileena is still growing in that sense. Nonetheless, if this immature Mileena takes the position (everything's possible in MK), it would lead to rebellions and possibly a bunch of new, short-living realms.

Isn't Goro the prince of Outworld? Wouldn't he be the most likely candidate?

As for Reiko, as much as I like him, I think this is way too early in the timeline for him to take over. After all he was a general for Shinnok in MK4, so I assume during the events of MK9 he is in hell serving Shinnok.

I imagined a civil war for the Outworld throne, then the forces of Chaos and Order bringing their part in it.. leading to it being conquered by an outside force (Shinnok) OR total realm destruction.

Either one would be favorable, imo.

Goro is the prince of Kuatan which is just another plane of Outworld.
If Shinnok conquers Outworld (or the most of it), it would be cool to see Reiko as the new leader of this new land of Shinnok. That would be up until a betrayal for greed by this Shao Kahn wannabe, of course.
The next ruler of Outworld should be shatter resistant, unlike Shao Kahn was. Here is its mugshot picture. It is especially good with projectiles.
