When kung lao was doing his fatality near the end of the trailer the screen didn't go black around him.. and he did it with the fans around the kahn arena cheering him on.. could it be that that's a little extra flavor they're working into the game?

Oh yea,I didn't notice that.
I hope it does go dark when they do fatalities. Sets up the atmosphere more.

I'm not sure if Cage's bone breaking blows was a fatality... i hope it was...
but if it was, Fats. seem to be much more cinematic in this game than in past 3D games, which i think is fucking awesome!!!

I did notice this and I did like this. The stage doesnt have to blackout. I never realised looking at background while performing a fatality would look nice.

Do you know what be a nice very additional detail? Wouldnt it be cool if NPS in the background react to the fatality performed? Imagine the audience/crowd going wild and cheering as soon as you perform a fatality in Kahn's arena.

Yes I did notice this, I brought it up in another thread actually. I feel this is the best thing to do. Making it darker doesnt make it cooler. I found that seeing Subzero even about to die in full lighting, made me feel like I was watching faces of death and it actually had an impact on me to slightly cringe which has never happened in my life.

Keep the normal lighting, its much better. Gives a realistic sense of death. Think of seeing a dead animal on the road, if it was darker out, it wouldnt seem more gory, dark or cooler. In the light, gore just has a more gritty feel. Watch "the hills have eyes". When Goggles is eating the moms heart in bright daylight, that gore hit me much harder than any part of that movie, i literally yelled "Holy shit!".

Keep the lighting.

I loved that. Its a real gladiator style arena now. Want some more arenas like that. Maybe even on the Subway level, you'd have guys in business suits watching, punching the air when you do a good combo. Shouting Toasty when you do an uppercut.
