I dont mind having DLC, its kind of expected nowadays.
I was thinking with Seanay that it should be all the MK4 characters, so;

I will be more than happy to pay for DLC just as long as

A. ) Its is not available on day one ... Day one DLC basically means charging you more for the entire game.

B. ) Its not included on the disc ...... again, if its on the disc , why am I now paying extra for the content. Its bad enough games are now $60 a pop, but then paying another $20 for DLC as soon as you pop the disc in is just ridiculous.

C. ) It expands the game. New characters add new depth to the game, but stuff like new costumes and arena's are just fluff.

So yea, I'm actually excited for DLC, but if Warner Brothers pulls and EA, and tries to be greedy, then guess what ? I'll wait 2 weeks, buy it used from Gamestop so that the publisher gets NO MONEY off of the game , and then I'll get the dlc ........... cause im a rebel , and that's how I roll.

Extra content is available for most games these days. Some people will pay, others won't. It's no big deal.

Personally I would pay, but that's just me. I won't hold my breath though, we never got promised DLC for the last game so until I see Quan Chi or whoever available for download I'm not going to believe this will happen.

As long as they don't pull any of that "Pre-order at Gamestop to get this exclusive" bullshit, I'll be happy and gladly buy whatever DLC is offered up.

Yes they did. When you press the button to pick Shao Kahn or Darkseid, that slot was also programmed to hold DLC characters in case they were ever released.
I will concede that having it right on the screen this time rather than sliding out when you press a button does indicate a greater commitment to the idea of actually releasing some this time, though.
Although that slot could also just end up used for all hidden characters again. Or it could be removed in the final build.

DLC is a must to extend the game. I'd rather they come out in packs than individual downloads though. Something like UMK3 was to MK3.

I don't mind DLC as long as I feel satisfied with what's in the base game. If I feel like they put everything they intended to in the game from the beginning, and I don't get that odd sensation that something's amiss, I'll gladly welcome all DLC.

I struggle to see how they'll implement it. No fighting game has ever done DLC characters before, and for good reason.

That being said, I would love it if they released the entire roster and gave us the game and THEN asked us fans, directly, which character(s) to add as DLC. A poll, fan feedback, or something similar.

Which lucky extra character should we get? Why not let us decide? I like that idea for developer-fan interaction. We basically did that for Khameleon on the Wii due to fervent requests for her to appear.

Well with a character slot dedicated to DLC, it's pretty much confirmed it WILL be there.

I think we should have MK4 and MKDA/MKD favorites, as well as any characters that were removed because of story changes. For example, if everyone's guess of young SubZ becoming a Cyborg and Noob never happening are true, then human young SubZ and Noob would be DLC.

Not a fan of DLC. If it's there I hope it's not any characters.

I'd rather just have patches for the glitches in gameplay that we're bound to find. DLC for fatalities and stages are fine, but for characters? No thanks

I didn't select anyone who debuted before MK4, since I'm going to assume they're all going to be in this right away.

Well, there was Soul Calibur. They weren't previous franchise characters, but I'd still say they count.

As for DLC, it all just comes down to what they offer. I'd imagine DLC would be mostly boss characters or "what if" characters. Don't think anyone is going to dish out the money for Sheeva (I've been picking on her a lot lately, but she's just so damn lackluster).

Costumes? If they're really good, sure.

Don't feel comfortable saying "never," but it will be a cold fucking day before I buy fatalities. That's what youtube is for.

I wouldn't care if they did a gamestop preorder thing because I do that anyway. but yes if they make me pay for DLC it better be some arenas and extra chars and maybe a Krypt style extras unlock deal. As long as I dont have to pay to open the boxes.

I used to be against the idea of DLC, but honestly? If it's something that extends the life of the game, why WOULDN'T you want more characters, more arenas, more outfits, more special moves, more fatalities, bug fixes etc?

I agree that I don't want it to be available on day one and absolutely don't want to have to pay to unlock what's already on the disc that I paid $60 for. I think that's the cheapest, most underhanded thing that developers and publishers are doing right now.

But I'd love to see something that tells me that a poll has opened on the NR website the day the game comes out, allowing people to vote for their top 5 favorites out of every remaining character in the series, though I'd also love to see the option of "new character" be available as well.

I'd like to have a stage pack included in the DLC and some alternate outfits included for some characters.

Stages

The Bank (MK3) With the updated graphics and being able to smash through walls and stuff, it would be funny to be able to kick someone through a bag of money and have them flying around.

The Warriors Shrine (MK1) The classic level featuring the statues of all the MK1 Cast, if it's an alternate timeline then I wonder what kind of statues would be erected?

The Wasteland (MK2) Was dreaming of a remake for this generation and this style of gameplay for years, Shaolin Monks expanded on the idea but I want to see what can be done now.

Outfits

MK3 Sub-Zero - I'm kind of worried about what is going to happen to the younger Sub-Zero who I favored more, if his character is altered to be completley different like the suggested automation of him, then this would be a nice nostalgic bonus for fans of the character.

MK1 Liu Kang - I miss that simple look of Liu Kang it will bring back many memories if they decide to add that look in.

MK2 Jax - Jax without the metal arms, need I say more?

And that's pretty much all I would want in terms of downloadable content.
