Like, for example, modelling her to look like Kristen Stewart.

I disagree. We don't need a vampire at all. We have Mileena who eats you then we have Skarlet who uses blood as her power. No vampires are necessary. I do however think MK could do with a true love story e.g. A female is fighting, she loses and her opponent; a man is said to 'Finish Her', just then women's lover; jumps in and stops other person from performing a fatality. The announcer says to man who interferes "You know rules of Mortal Kombat and you also know the price you pay for breaking the rules of Mortal Kombat'. So the announcer sends in 3 assasins. The guy and his lover is outnumbered and they aren't able to fight them off. Both of them are lying on the floor battered and bruised, they hold each others hands one last time. And bam they're both finished by assassins.

What?!? No! Mk is fine with tthe vampire it has. It needs no more, no less. And the announcer stuff there woldn't happen, because the announcer is NOT an MK character, but a voice, throughout 80% of the games. MK2 and MK3 had an announcer- Shao Kahn. He would fight himself. Not send in random assassins. And the love story garbage is just out of place in the MK world. If they were to do another romance, it should be between two established characters and shouldn't be romanticized, like with Locke and Celes in Final Fantasy VI. Not some random crap like that. No. And MK has a fine story as is, without another romance.

In MK1, the announcer was the voice of Shang Tsung. In 2 and 3 (and Shaolin Monks), it was Shao Kahn.
From 4 until Armageddon, it either was supposed to be Quan Chi, or just happens to be the same voice actor as Quan Chi using the exact same voice filter used for Quan Chi, which is just confusing, especially since Quan was dead in Deception, but whatever, those were the lazy, asset-reusing years anyway. (MKvsDC also used the same MK4-thru-A announcer, but changed Quan Chi's voice actor.)
In MK9, it's pretty much become just a non-canon gameplay element rather than the voice of a character actually presiding over a tournament.

I've assumed since Quan Chi's death in Deception, it was just the gameplay mechanic theory. I did figure in MK2011, that Shao Kahn would be the announcer. Don't have proof on this, it was just my hunch. Don't even know if it's the same voice actor. I completely forgot about MK1, with Shang. Dang.

Nope, Kahn and the announcer are not the same voice actor in MK9.

Man I miss Steve Ritchie as the announcer.
Oh and as for the topic, I don't think MK needs a better vampire character, just devote some attention to the one it already has.

I've got a much better idea: Vampire Mokap.
A bit like a mosquito, buzzing around the MK universe, sucking enthusiasm from fans by merely existing.
Nitara is fine as she is, although I do find the idea of pairing her with Nightwolf interesting. Not because I care about mainstream appeal, but just because it'd be an unexpected couple.
Still, I like Nitara's story. I find it refreshing that MK's vampires aren't predictably portrayed as an evil race so far. I'd have no aversion to introducing new vampires.

A samurai vampire. Why not she could be the first female swordsman in Mk. Better than Ashrah anyway who is a warrior nun. Being a vampire would mean she's fast and skilled. She could be Mileenas rival. Like Mileena is a ninja tarkatan and this new lady is a samurai vampire. Samurais and ninjas are depicted as enemies. And vampire / tarkatan feud could blow up.

No, they can not. Popularity is not exactly the same as success.
There are some pretty stupid preconceptions about what a vampire is:
sunlight killing them, them being supernaturally able and agile, etc. Work those out. I rather see the genuine thing from Walachian mythology or hell, even asian vampires would be ok.
Though I agree on one thing: Twilight is the biggest vampire of them all. Sucking dry the collective humanity out of teenagers. This is why the current generation of teenagers is a joke mostly.

So your on an Mk forum arguing that twilight is better than MK............way to go there champ.

Hopefully now this thread is more interesting than it was before. A vampire pirate aka vampirate or a vampire samurai. Which is a better fit in Mk?

I have an honest question to the creator of this thread, hankypanky1.
Why do you continue to post the same topic in the WRONG forum section? This should at least be in the "Future MK Games'' section.

First of all, those of you hating on Twilight just because it's Twilight need to grow up. The world doesn't revolve around you and what you like. There's over 7 billion people on this planet. Just because something extremely popular doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean you can go around and insult it and everyone who likes it. This is very childish and immature.
That being said, I have no problem with Nitara getting an update. I never really liked the whole "Vampire Realm" thing, but I have no problem with her becoming an Outworld Vampire. Vampires could oppose Tarkatans, just like Centaurs oppose Shokans.

Okay mom. Am I allowed to still say that Mortal Kombat is a superior series than Twilight or will I get twenty lashings from dad?

0
I wasn't refering to you specifically. Of course Mortal Kombat is miles ahead of Twilight. And there's no denying that a romance between Nitara and Nightwolf just because Twilight exists is pretty ****ing dumb. There's room for a Vampire VS Werewolf story, because it's part of the mythical lore, but that's it.
0
There is no room for vampire vs werewolf story. Werewolves are pack animal, if you're gonna do a werewolves vs vampire story u gotta bring back more than one. However u could do a partnership between a werewolf and vampire. Say Shao Kahn killed all werewolves except nightwolf, say Kahn did same to vampire and Nitara remains. So they can form a partnership against Kahn. Werewolves would risk their own life for a vampire. Remember they have treaties in place to keep them in check. But a werewolf who falls for a vampire could have that broken relationship where they complete and compliment each other because of history/myth story regarding them both and they could just amend any existing treaty.

Precisely. He's an Earthrealm shaman fromm a Native American tribe (assumably) who had the ability to transform into a werewolf in a movie and as his non-canon Animality. He has no ACTUAL ability to turn into a werewolf, as far as MK canon goes.
And, Nitara is not the only remaining vampire as MK goes. Shao Kahn hadn't done anything different before MK1 in MK9's story, so the vampire realm Vataernus is still merged with Outworld by the mysterious orb one can only assume Cyrax obtained. So, all vampires still exist as in the original canon, and Shao Kahn is gone, hopefully for good this time around. And there's obviously going to be a giant battle for throne of Outworld in MK9 as a side-plot, so I would safely assume Shao Kahn isn't going to be a big problem in the near MK future.
The werewolf vampire thing is not coherent to the MK storyline. It would not fit the tone of MK, nor would it provide somethign new AND enjoyed by most of the audience.

Forget the Underworld and the shit Hollywood taught you.
How about this? You want an unrepresented female mythological creature in MK? how about a HAG? Evil senior citizen monsters like Baba Yaga from the slavic mythologies. Or other.
Or if that is too much for you? Malaysian vampire. A womans head floating around with it's spine out with lungs heart and internal organs. Because apparently that is what a vampire is over there.
Leave the Tween appeal modern culture adaptational vampire bullshit to DIE already!
