Johnny Cage as the main hero reminds me on when he was being deceived by Shinnok in MKA.

In a way, he and Raiden are both ignorant, if not 'idiots.'

The one thing that boggled me in this story was that Raiden clearly told Kang that he sees much power from Cage, although he has to see it himself, he somewhat is such a powerful figure.

For that I must ask, if Raiden could see such great power within him, exactly how come he couldn't realize that Cage could have helped out all along? I mean, sure he and Sonya were out and about, but he was with Kang the entire time. There were chances for him to realize that Kang couldn't have been this person that could have saved everyone, but instead he continued to see that Kang was this victor up until the very last part.

Was there just an underestimating thing going on here or what?

And mind you, I haven't played story mode in such a long time, certain parts of it are a bit blank right now so, if I may have missed something, okay I missed something.

Like what with all MKD nonsense in Konquest?

Like I said, MKD was where the quality started to dip. There are errors in Konquest. That said, the only real plothole is Shujinko going to prison in Orderrealm during the events of Deadly Alliance, aging for years, and being let out before Deception starts, because no time actually passes between DA and Deception, so that couldn't be possible. The rest of his canon missions fit pretty well.

Did Cage died or not?

He absolutely did. His Deadly Alliance bio is a joke about him refusing to admit it because it wounds his pride.

What the deal with Shinnok's amulet, was it Quan Chi all along?

What about the amulet don't you understand? That one's perfectly simple.

Bi-Han stole it from the gods for Quan Chi. Quan Chi then gave Shinnok a fake copy. At the end of Mythologies, Raiden sent Bi-Han to steal it back, but Bi-Han stole the fake one that Shinnok had.

So from the end of Mythologies until MK4, Quan Chi is secretly holding Shinnok's amulet and no one knows it. Quan Chi reveals that he has it in MK4 though and starts using it in 4 and Deadly Alliance.

And in Deception, Quan gets blown up and Onaga takes the amulet.

The only thing we don't know is how Quan got it back in Armageddon, because Armageddon was sloppy and Quan didn't get a bio.

The only things that could possibly confuse the issue are the end of Shaolin Monks, which is one of the sloppy recent games I talked about and isn't canon anyway, and Quan's costume in MK9, and I don't know if you've noticed but MK9's story not making sense and how that didn't used to be the norm for the franchise is kinda my whole point here.

Razor, that's the thing I don't understand,if Bi-Han took the fake amulet from Shinnok even though he thought it to be real, how Shinnok planned to invade the realms in MK4? Of course,Quan Chi had the real one,but Shinnok didn't know that...Was Shinnok so stupid to believe that he can invade realms without the amulet?

The amulet was actually never how they invaded in MK4.

They invaded in MK4 by tricking Sindel into inviting them out of Hell and into Edenia. Apparently the ruler of a realm has the authority to just give him permission to escape his banishment and enter their realm.

Ok...been gone for a few weeks and don't feel like reading all the post in this thread but since it is one about the old Thundergod I am required as a card carrying Raiden fangirl to add my thoughts...

If you really listen to the story, Raiden might be currently the central character but seems to be hinting at Johnny Cage becoming the new 'Hero.' Not only does he mention that there is more to Johnny than even Johnny knows, he seems to be mentoring Johnny more than Liu. Add in Johnny's bio about being descended from a cult who bred warriors for the gods....*shrugs* Could be wrong, but it seems like current story writers are using Raiden as the central character now only so that he can lead and mentor JC until he can become the true Warrior he can truly be.

With this in mind, Raiden as the main character works for this game and maybe part of the 2nd game depending on how the story goes, but eventually someone else will have to become the central character. Whether this is Johnny or not, only Neatherrealm Studios knows.

Okay, but how he planned to open the portals for Netherrealm forces to invade Edenia and then strike Elder Gods without Amulet? Doesn't make sense...

Like I said, Sindel opened the portal he invaded Edenia with. Tanya tricked her into thinking she was granting asylum to refugees from another realm but Shinnok and his army of demons and the dead came through and took over.
And he fought the war with those soldiers like Reiko, Scorpion, Reptile, etc. and hordes and hordes of demons instead of with his own power, and he never really got to go after the Elder Gods, just the regular ones like Fujin and co., who can be killed by mortals.
