Electronic beats for MKX. They are catchy beats. Street fighter has some catchy beats. Electronic beats can work in MK, do it like The Exorcist's theme song.

Listen here

The Exorcist theme

This awesome Electronic song in a Eastern Martial Arts Film called Raging Phoenix

I'm getting tired of you. So I'm going to ask a few things of you to try to make you less of an annoyance and to get you to really see what we're talking about

1. You don't have to post EVERY SINGLE LITTLE IDEA YOU HAVE.
2. You should post about MK10 in the "Future MK Games" section of the forum. This section is dedicated to the 2011 reboot. I, though I can NOT make you, ask that you stray from this forum for what you want in new MK games.

But the music in this series has always been great. Organs are for Phantom of the Opera and church...

Especially the song by I. Ron Butterfly wink

Eh, the music in MK has always been pretty mediocre save for a few good tracks here and there. Organ beats can be brilliant if done with a more modern twist and not in a cheesy funk-esque style... To say an entire instrument doesn't belong in the soundtrack is silly and contrary for the sake of contrariness. There's at least one stage in the current MK that would pair perfectly with organ (if it doesn't already, I can't remember).

I hardly even doubt that one single user here is a "gith."

Metal music is awesome, by the way.

I thought I was done with you. I know that everything I say is going to be forgotten about. And yet, I stilll choose to respond. Why- I don't know. I won't educate you, I'll just feed a troll. Why do I keep getting drawn in...

Let's start with my first problem...
You won't spell the word "shit". Why? It's just a word. It doesn't really do anything except throw people off, and it doesn't make you look better. If you want to use a word, spell it out fully. And please start trying correct grammar usage.

Now, 'tallica, Ozzy, Sabbath, Maiden, DragonForce, Disturbed, they're all awesome, and they're just the start. Metal is awesome.

That is all.

To the defense of Heavy Metal. Why would someone that asks so desperatly for organ music in a brutal fighting game hate on metal because it is Noisy, when we all know, that one style like metal was first heavily influenced by organs and other classical instruments. No matter what you like or not about Metal, it is true. Great organs, violin, harp players would listen to some metal and at least get it. Headache inducing shit? Well organ tends to be really loud.

You should just make a "Random stuff that has just popped into my head" thread.

On Topic, MK has always had good music in my opinion, some good Organ music can be heard in the Gamecube titles in Lost Kingdoms and LKII. it wouldn't really suit MK but its good for the atmosphere in those games.

What the actual hell are organ beats? All Im hearing is Euro dance stuff. When I hear organ, I think pipe organ. I don't think thats what you mean. Synth maybe?

On topic (lolz) MK is PseudoAsian dark fantasy. Your synthpop fits nowhere in that. Other fighting fames certainly, but not MK.

With all that said, its clear that your MK is not our MK.

Hate it or love it, there was edm (electronic dance music) in Mk legacy 2. There may be edm in new Mk movie and game ;)

Netherrealm has never really incorporated much from other interpretations of MK into the games. There are a couple of exceptions, but largely no.

Legacy has nothing to do with the games and won't influence Dan Forden, undoubtedly. If they wanted to incorporate dance music they would have done it in 1995. Now? No way. Sorry. Just keep an earbud in while playing the games and dream on. :)

Mk movie had dance music. So did a lot of other things to do with Mk. Edm comes in many ways, house, techno, organ, electro... This kind of music is uplifting and not headache inducing like death metal and that kind of shit

I'll reiterate once more that if MK wanted to capitalize on the success of the MK films, they would have done it in 1995 when the movie was a hot new thing. They could have integrated aspects such as the Techno Syndrome song to closer emulate the successful film and "cash in," but they didn't. Dan Forden continued making the music that he wanted to, ignoring the fact that the Techno Syndrome song had become almost synonymous with MK.

That would have been the time to start incorporating dance music. They didn't. Why would they even consider starting now, more than fifteen years after the fact? Because of Legacy? A quasi-successful web series that is basically its own property? Sorry, guy. No. It just doesn't add up.

Now, future MK films, series, etc. will most likely incorporate some of the musical genres you seem so affectionate about. Take solace in that. But it won't happen in the games.

Also, MK has never used "death metal." Forden incorporated big, dirty guitars as technology progressed and he moved away from midi constraints. No death metal though. Not even close.

Also also, I find "edm" to be quite headache inducing. Just relentless pounding into infinity. And uplifiting? Just sounds cold and soulless to me. In short servings it's okay, but no more.

I think there should be some edm for characters like rain. Rain moves in a way that's cool. Here in uk nightclubs people pay £10 for entrance fee (ladies go free :( usually).. And in nightclub there is funky house, organ, electro, or whatever edm. People all over the world come to London for this!

There are some classic edm in entertainment industry like exorcist theme. Or fladhdance - what a feeling

I really think you should play some Japanese fighting games. You will get a lot of that sort of thing with those games. It's just NOT MK, though. Not in the slightest.

Here is a bit of music from MK 1 re-created by me, just to give an example of something much closer to MK's vibe.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckujaBTphPk

MK's music is something I'm a particularly big fan of and to me, it has always been Asian Dark Fantasy, fused with some synth elements to create a really un-earthly vibe. Nothing resembling "uplifting." Quite the contrary. This is a franchise based around brutal deathmatches. Happiness doesn't really go with spine rips.

You're getting closer. Observe your own patterns, and it seems progress is created.

See, you've suggested funky. Whilst not by any means BAD, it just doesn't go with MK. Yeah, EDM is rather swaying in mood, it just doesn't fit the MK feel. The MK feel is one of darkness and hatred, a battle followed by two more. It needs to be compatible with the game to really go well. The reason the DuckTales Moon theme is so popular and great is because it so perfectly highlighted the game- and everything in the genre- it was upbeat with a kiddie-like feel, and it was based on a children's cartoon. The Dr. Wily Stage 1 theme in Mega Man 2 fits so well because it gets you pumped up as you charge through the levels of Dr. Wily's awesome-ass castle, fighting so many difficult battles on the way up. The theme to the Final Boss of Contra 2 was so good because it completely summed up the game- "There's no way your gonna win, there's no hope, you're gonna DIE!" Something for Mortal Kombat has to sound, well- evil, yet at the same time, fast, a high tempo. The song used in the "Shadows" trailer was by an American band- formed in Chicago, named "Disturbed", with their song "Another Way to Die", from their 'Asylum' album. Vocalist David Draiman went on record to state that even HE thought it wasn't violent enough. He said he thought if any songs by Disturbed were used, he would want "Warrior" or, more popular, "Down With the Sickness", as they were much more violent to him, and matched the MK tone. Synthesized sounds really just don't go well with MK, and any time the use synthetic sounds, other than actual instrument emulation, tend to be negatively reviewed (Golden Desert.) It just- doesn't work well. Now, vigorous dubstep could work, if done in the proper stage.
