There is an easy way to settle the soul steal debate, watch that video and who wins? the worst sub zero player I've ever seen lol and he beat a guy who seemed to know how to do a couple of shangs moves. Obviously every character needs to have different abilities or why even bother making more than 2 people in a game? Shang had his soul steal before and it never seemed to be something that made him an unfair character to play against.
