This time Liu HAS to become king of Edenia in the Shinnok saga. If it'll ever happen.

If he did, what do you think?

If they were going to allow Liu and Kitana to live on the same realm so they could hook up, I'd rather they did like in Kitana's MKvsDCU ending, have Edenia be destroyed or unrecoverable and the remaining refugees move to Earth, perhaps settling Shang's island.

But I kinda doubt those two will get any kind of happy ending in a world where Liu has lost faith in and been betrayed and murdered by his own mentor and will most likely return dark, angry, maybe even psychotic.

Hope Liu still lives. As for Kitana, she'll be under the Netherealm's control until she'll be free.

It would be nice though after Shinnok's defeat, they get married, raise a child for the next generation of warriors until the Dragon King saga.

Even though Liu Kang has been my favorite character, I don't really want him to marry Kitana. I liked how he had to give everything up to be the MK champion and defend Earthrealm. I think that even though Liu will be pissed, deep down he still knows that defendinghis home is his responsibility. Besides, there's so many love stories in nearly every story ever told, and I liked Mortal Kombat because it was one of the only one that didn't end with the hero getting married and living happily ever after.

I agree. Not that the ideas are bad but i wouldn't want to see 2 of the MK characters in love. Or even go as far as being married and having kids. Even though the story of the franchise lets us know they were from the start.

Hell, while we are at it, it should happen with Johnny and Sonya
Sheeva and Goro
Sareena and Sub Zero
Nitara and Nightwolf
Li Mei and Kung Lao

And so on. So pretty much like SC5, we end up in the future with a lot of fans fav not introduced to the profit of their kid taking the lead.:P

SC5 didn't do it, or anything at all, very well...but there's nothing inherently wrong with characters growing old, their stories ending, and the next generation picking up the torch.

I for one would love to one day see an MK in the style of DC's old "Earth-2" concept where the Justice Society all grew old and some retired and passed their legacies on to their proteges and children. Perhaps it needn't be a main canon game, just a spinoff, but it'd be interesting to let some of the more old and tired plotlines rest once and for all. I mean Scorpion can't fuckin' fail to get revenge and rest in peace forever, that'd just be pathetic.

I'm not against the fact characters seem to grow old. Still about SC5, kind of funny how Taki has trained one of her kids since she's now older but Ivy, that was always the elder in the females area doesn't seem to age at all. Weird.

I dunno. As a side game or side misson i suppose it could be interesting for some fans to see a new generation of fighters take the lead one day but i'm more of a keeper in terms of characters. Whatever char we might think about since the very first MK, i never really was in favour of cleansing most of the roster like some were hoping they'll do after MKA. If they're going to have Liu's kid take the lead in one game for instance, i dunno. Maybe he should be DLC. Or a one game shot, making Liu himself come back later for revenge or something like that.

For having new characters that all have so much similarities with their parents/ancestors. Such as same fighting styles, special moves. And having them all introduced because they're "INSERT CHAR NAME"'s kid, so they are all related to an already known character in the story? Would be kind of weak.

Clearly prefer having NRS focusing on exploring the story and mythology of the characters that they already have, with adding one or 2 new characters each game to help revive some rivalry and new plots instead of having a cleansing and hearing more fans complain and backlash NRS since a lot of fans fav weren't introduced once more. But that's just me.

I'm pretty sure Ivy has a magical reason to not age, a connection to Soul Edge or something like that. It's been a long time since I've followed the series that closely though so I can't remember the details.

Keep dunking your Kenshi breadsticks into your Skarlet sauce, people! The main course isn't coming for a while, and you never know when it's going to be disappointing.

Ivy stopped aging at Soul Calibur 2 actually. Being that she is the daughter of Cervantes (who was already cursed by the swords, being pretty much the first Nightmare before Nightmare came to be), she is probably cursed as well. If I remember correctly, I believe her weapon possesses a shard of the Soul Edge, and as shown in previous endings, her weapon tends to communicate with her.

Much like Soul Edge itself, Soul Edge wants a host, but it also wants its host to stay young. Thus, Soul Edge prevents it's host from aging (such is why Cervantes has been able to live from SC1 to SC4. In SC5, he apparently got a new body....which makes no fucking sense, but I digress, SC5 is crap).

So Ivy, being cursed by her weapon, has remained young. However, she not only has control over her weapon, but her weapon seems to have a protective and loving care for her. So...yeah....Ivy's pretty much set for life, and it's been that way before SCV.

Still, Soul Calibur V did an awful job at moving to the next generation of fighters. I will admit that most of the new guys (Xiba, ZWEI, Viola, Leixia, and Natsu) are all very interesting and fun characters, but instead, we chose to pay attention to the most annoying twins in the world.

I want Liu to marry Kitana. It can be an opportunity to have new characters join in. It can have Liu's son be connected to stop Onaga and the One Being.

Well, seeing as both Kitana and Sindel are dead, and Shinnok is on the move, I highly doubt Liu Kang would become king even if he wanted to.

I think Tanya will most likely take the throne, being the daughter of Edenia's ambassador and all. Even then, Shinnok may claim it from her, with Quan Chi taking it from him.

I never cared for the Liu Kang and Kitana romance. Too cliche, the same kinda cliche as Kitana turning good.

Edenia is not even a freed realm yet is it? Shao Khan died didnt he? I cant remember what happens at the end of story mode. I think Edenia is still merged with Outworld at this point because Kitana and everyone are dead, and they didnt have any time to like reclaim Edenia after Khan's death and whatnot. Actually did they die before Khan? Either way I dont think Edenia had become an independent realm again yet.

That's pretty much it. Kitana died before Shao Kahn. Nobody ever unmerged Edenia. But apparently all they have to do in Mortal Kombat to unmerge a realm is smash a snow globe. I'll bet someone else can do that; maybe Rain or Tanya if they turn good.

But I like 4 Liu to become the new king of Edenia. This could give a new or old warrior a chance to become the new champion of MK.

If Tanya does that, she could be respected enough to be given control. >:) Oh yes. Long Live Queen Tanya!

We're talkin' about Liu being King of Edenia. Not Tanya.

I kind of don't want him to be king. Then it would be too much of a happy ending for me. "Liu Kang and Kitana get married, Liu becomes king, and everybody lived happily ever after." What Liu should do is be really pissed off at Raiden and go anti-hero on us. Now THAT is what I'd like to see. Zombie Kang or not.

I don't want zombie liu again. I wanna see him in the next game angry and hopefully forgives Raiden somehow.

I think Raiden is too far past the point of no return. He really crossed the line this time. Raiden doesn't deserve forgiveness, since he pretty much murdered Liu Kang. I don't care if he comes back as a zombie or not. But it would definitely make sense seeing as how Liu Kang more than likely died.
