back when i was a kid i could NEVER pass beyond kintaro yet i still tried cause it was fun. Only once i played Shao Khan and he pretty much raped me using the same tactics in MK9 (even though i beat him now lol)

I don't know if i'm the only one who thinks this, but Shao Kahn isn't even that hard. He was much harder in UMK3, I think I only beat him twice in UMK3.

Not overpowered. Just cheap. Hence the reason Challenge 251 is the only thing standing in my way of Tower Master. F'in bastard.

He was definitely harder (for me at least) in UMK3. I could only beat him with Sheeva and Sub-Zero. What makes Kahn such a pain in this game is when he uses his "armor" and your attacks bounce off him. He's still cheap and I have trouble with him on harder difficulties but he's not as bad as UMK3 imho.

I actually think he's too weak in this game. There are multiple strategies out there that will get you an easy victory against him regardless of difficulty. Some people beat him with projectiles and jumping over hammers. I personally beat him with timed and measured cross-ups, which he simply has no answer for. I actually think he's easier to beat on Hard or Extreme, than he is on Normal or Easy. I think he's more predictable on Hard or Extreme. I haven't lost to him since I played Story mode a few months ago. I have a lot more trouble with Kintaro than I do with Shao Kahn.

Sometimes I feel like throwing the controller at my TV (I've been caught in that constant hammer throw move too), but other than that I think its fine.

But, once you battle him enough times, you get used to it. Luckily for me, I'm a monkey, jumping around a lot. As long as you time everything right, the battle's gonna be alright.

Shao Kahn is too easy. my 1st time fighting him i got a dbl flawless. all you have to do is play deffence. stay back and jump over the hammer and duck the arrow wait for him to taunt and combo him or throw projectial just stay full screen. not wise to be the aggressive one or he will just lay you out lol

That's what I did when fighting Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2. Did it work? no because Ock in that game was like fucking hard as shit. And theres this bubble of energy you hve to avoid orelse it will knock you all over the god damn place and Ock will come over there and kick your ass.

The level of challenge is not unreasonable,
especially after you get used to how he fights.
And some characters are easier to win with than others.
As much as I love Rain, he's not the best counter for Kahn.
Skarlet, Smoke, and Kratos are all Kahn-Killers.
Smoke and Kratos can counter his hammer throw and harpoon,
making him a *breeze*.

Just spam him with the same moves or jump over him and uppercut him while he attacks.

Not too overpowered, just an asshole. But they easily make him playable. Give him an actual move set and tone down his super moves. And take off his armored power.

Shao Kahn is simple as hell, any difficulty. Make him do moves that you can jump over, evade, and counter with a high percentage combo(s). Game.
