Fans mortal kombat 9 is nothing more then the first remake of the first mortal kombat game there will be NO mk9 thanks to the people at the WB. If you want prof of this go to www.themortalkombat.com and click on press reless and it will tell you. There is one cool thing about the remake of mk1 it has a tag team kombat match in it. Please let me know what you think about the site I found.
I'm not trying to piss any one off here cause I don't want to do that. But this is the truth about mk9.

Nowhere on there does it state Mortal Kombat is strictly a remake of Mortal Kombat 1. You didn't find this site, as it's been known about ever since the exact moment it was announced yesterday.
All evidence points to a retelling of MK1-MK3. The script and casting call leaks, the characters, the stages...so on and so forth. You should search the top 10 threads currently on the front page of the board and you would know all this by now.

And good luck picking Sektor og Night Wolf in Mortal kombat 1 : )
Ah leave the guy alone, he thought he was giving us all something new, granted he could've looked around more, but at least he didn't come in just to tell us how much he hated the game. Listen bro, thanks for trying to help out, but in truth we all knew about the site and the reboot, however, evidence lead to this probably being a remake of MK1-3 instead of strictly the first tournament, for example:
-Mileena, Kung Lao, and Shao Kahn weren't in until MK2
-Sektor and Nightwolf weren't in until MK3
-Stages like the Deadpool, the Pit 2, and others shown were from MK2-3
So in the end, thanks for trying to help, but this has all been covered and analyzed.

Maybe they were Super Unlockables... hahaha
In all fairness, I understand where he is coming from. A retelling of the series bakc to MK1 doesnt mean that characters from MK2 and MK3 cant be brought back and a little of their origin shown or mixed in. They can change really whatever they want about the story now.
The thing that sold it as MK 1-3 retelling was raidens look(similar to MKSM), the inclusion of shao kahn at all(would mix the story up too much for just MK1) and the inclusion of Shao kahns arena in outworld(would screw with it WAY too much).
$100 sais this is MK1-3

There's also the fact that some backgrounds from 3 are in there. The Rooftop when Kung Lao shows up for the first time and the Bridge when Mileena does.

The official press release states this is a 'relaunch' of the Mortal Kombat franchise, so it's much more than a Mortal Kombat remake. Personally I love this idea, it's like getting MK1-3 in one game on crack lol.
While I like to know what happen post-Armageddon, I suppose a remake of 1-3 into one game isn't bad either.
I've read around, I saw few complaints how some post 1-3 characters can been like Reiko, Kira, Li Mei and Kenshi can be seen in the background. Indeed, these characters weren't introduce till post 3, but story line wise they have always existed. At the time of 1-3, the MK haven't introduce us to these characters yet. But now that we know they of them and how they will have influence on the story line ie: what were they doing during the time of MK 1-3, it's good to include them even as background characters.

Is mk9 a remake of the first 3 mortal kombat games? 3 games in one does sound cool. I've been wanting mk1, mk2 & mk3 to come out for the PS3. If this is all true I'll have to watch E3 next week to find out more.

It's a REBOOT, not a remake... I don't know why people can't understand this.

Says who? Some people say the site says relaunch, others say remake, some say reboot. Who is right, and what sources are there to prove such? And by the way, Vash? Thanks for sticking up for the previous poster. People who are jerks to original posters who are just trying to offer helpful info are kind of a pet peeve.

I don't care how many people here don't trust him. He has been right time after time after time. I can't see how he could be right so many times without being friends with someone on the team. And even if I'm wrong and he really is a lair, who cares? People have to learn that this is a video game and if someone lies about something that's it the game, the world as we know it will not end... Edit: Sorry about posting twice, I should of just edited my other post. It will not happen again, I will make sure of that.

_JRF_ was right yet again, confirming Sektor AND 2.5D. Anybody to fully doubt him now are choosing to blind themselves from the obveous fact that hes in bed with the MK team in some form.

I don't think some people will ever trust him for some reason...
