There was no formal coverage on these, which saddens me, and probably disqualifies this as a news lead, but someone was able to snap a shot at Jazwares new MK plans.

-3 3/4 inch figures of the classic ninjas: Scorp, Sub, Reptile, Smoke
-3 3/4 classic cyborgs box set: Cyrax, Sektor, Smoke
-6 inch figures, previously announced : Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Cage, Raiden

I can only imagine they have more in store, hopefully this is just a series one. Fans of ninjas will likely be pleased, because there will be repaints EVERYWHERE in the 3 3/4 line.

Anyway, you probably want the picture now. Click to open it in a different window

Yea when we first seen this on Twitter, @MK_MortalKombat tried to play it off like it was just the klassic toys released years ago. Like there was nothing.

So I said:
@MK_MortalKombat @KornKombat Too bad the new dragon logo is on the packaging #bullshit

No response, its been over 12 hours.

Im taking it as real. Expect them alter this year.

That sounds amazing, Im so happy they are actually making these, I was hoping for so long that they would make Mortal Kombat figures and here it is. Looks like are going to be classic versions which sound sweet.

Im surprised this got no coverage or recognition. This is good shit and these figures are gonna drain my wallet.
This is a dream come true for fans of Mortal Kombat and anyone who liked the SM figures. I hope they make them more sturdy/well built as the first ones broke, and joints got loose.

I have high hopes like these and hope Jazaware doesn't fuck them up like the did with the deception series.

He asked about Smokes being confirmed. They probably meant he's looking at the "klassic" line for the classic fighters, not the MK9 roster

Probably why there was no formal coverage, but w/e tongue

I know. I's so fucking annoying to see all those fucking overrated ninjas everywhere and only Raiden and Johnny to make up for the lack of diversity.

What the fuck?

There was always at least one female (usually Sonya) in the main lineup or first series up till the MKD lineup which featured 0. Same with MKSM.

All the other MK's had Sonya, then Kitana and Jade joined Sonya in the trilogy versions, and then Mileena joined Sonya in the famous Infinite Concepts lineup.

WTF? Why are there only ninjas, cyborgs and the already recently made (MKD-MKSM) Johnny and Raiden the only featured characters? I would expect at least Mileena or Sonya or anything that doesn't have a penis.

Fuck the overrated sausage fest. I'm sure I'll love Johnny, Raiden, and the Cyborgs, but, do we really need to see Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile again? The first two are already being featured in 2 different sculptures.

I absolutely love to collect special MK stuff. I've got plenty of the action figures and a few toys, but, I'll definitely not waste any money on more ninjas. I have enough of Scorpion and Sub-Zero and Reptile's new model has to be better than that fantastic MKSM figure I have, or else I ain't buying it.

They'll get to it. But you don't want pegwarmers in Wave 1. And they WILL warm pegs. When a kid goes to buy a Mortal Kombat toy, does he want a ninja or a girl? Only the collectors will get the females, casual collectors and kids will pass them up without a second thought, and when you start a new line, you want to start strong

I've been looking for news on these figures. This is news to me, so...good find.
Slighty disappointed with the choice of characters, yet again. They need to put a boss character in each wave, or a builder figure. Not to mention..women! I definately like the idea of 3 3/4 scale. I've just gotta say this. Make a figure of Shao Kahn! My figure from MK Trilogy is slightly dated now ;)
I also want Mileena, Motaro, Ermac, Sonya, and Rain. Seriously though, more boss characters and women. What kids are buying these anyway? More like adult collectors. This character selection is just bull shit.
Here's my predictions for each wave(excuse the sarcasm)

Wave 1- Scorpion, Sub-Zero

Wave 2, Scorpion, Sub-Zero

Wave 3....cancelled :(

We need new characters Jazwares.....please.

I don't know, I think a Sonya figure would go a long way. And it's not always the case with female figures. I believe the Rogue action figure with uppercut action *from X-Men* was one of the most popular figures of it's line.

When it comes to MK action figures, I could give two shits if it's nothing but ninjas. Releases only come along with one out of every three new games or so. As an avid figure collector, I'm just glad we're getting something.

Sonya in particular however is long overdue for her own articulated figure, I'll say that much.

Agreed. It just plain sucks.

I hate how so many great spots were wasted in the MKSM wave with the unnecessary reveal of yet 2 extra Scorpion and Sub-Zero figures. A set of the female ninjas would have been soooo much better, or Sonya, Shao Kahn, and even Quan Chi, etc.

I still don't understand how Jazwares always gets these great licenses.

Well they are definitely playing the safe route by whoring out two molds like crazy. At this rate we will see a Klassic Ermac, Rain, and Chameleon by Wave 2.
I will give kudos to Jazwares for making their Street Fighter line at the same scale as the Mortal Kombat line.

And to the people that want female characters... hate to break it to you but it's Jazwares. It does make me wish that a company would step up and do a collector line. The mold and part re-use alone would look pretty good to the toy company that produces a adult collector line of MK.

But, see, that's the fucking problem.

With only 1 wave or 2 (if we are lucky), we don't really get to collect or enjoy characters outside the realm of "ninjas".

Scorpion and Sub-Zero have been featured in every single one.
Sonya, Raiden, and Johnny Cage have not but they've been featured in plenty as well. Making them the second ones.

Then you have the rest.

With only such a limited number and small amount of options, I'd say its about damn time they started to open their fucking minds to the awesomeness of the rest of the cast.

I'm a collector too, but, theres no way I'm waisting more money on boring and predictable "ninja' figures unless they are actually worth it (like the Infinite Concepts Action figures).

Wait, is Jazwares known for not doing female character figures?

Is Jazwares like the fucking primitive sexist male-Company of action figures?

Jazwares is only concerned with the kid demographic when selling their toys. They aren't concerned with the adult collector market at all so they rarely do female figures if any at all to curb them from peg warming.

Mk is mature rated. Why would anyone promote any MK merchandise to kids?

Ugh, thats so annoying.

Why couldn't another and much more talented company take the license?

The MKSM figures were great, but, its really not like they are the best. Look at their ugly MKD figures.

I would have love it if this was taken by someone with much more talent. I want to see Mk statues and icons and sculpts like the ones I see featuring the DC heroes and Marvel characters (and even anime characters).

Despite the gore there's a lot of things kids like about the MK. Ninjas and Robots!

Unfortunately MK isn't the powerhouse it once was. The fan community is pretty small and most toy companies wouldn't want to take the risk especially when there's no cartoon or movie to accompany it. Hopefully this will all change if the newest game gets a lot of noteriety.

Even in their Sonic line, the only Amy they've released was in a two pack with Sonic

Oh man, don't remind me. I collect their Sonic line (it's not great but it's all that is out there) and that Amy was short packed like crazy.

Still waiting for NECA or DCD to pick up an MK license.
