Yea? Nay? I'm undecided. I kinda miss the MK3 look a bit. Kinda hope he ditches the backpack, incidentally.

The trenchcoat is a must. It's one of his trademarks!

Absolutely yes. Like has been said, it's one of his trademarks (since MKD anywho), it's part of his image now. They can put it in his primary, or his alt, I don't care, as long as it's in.

His MK3 and MKD costumes weren't that different to me, they just added the backpack and changed the clothes a tiny bit. But I think he maybe didn't need the backpack in MK3, and he only needed it in MKD because Mavado almost killed him. So to me the backpack should probably be left out for now.

Yes for the coat.

But for the record, he didn't have it back in MK3.

Yay trenchcoat. They should ditch the backpack or redesign it to make it smaller. Thing looks like a ghostbusters proton pack.

And how might you suggest fitting that in story-wise? I mean, the reason he wanted to kill Shao Kahn is because Motaro's extermination squads scarred him up when they tried to kill him.

That and supposedly seeing his scarred face makes your soul escape from your body. wink

An idea I had, if he starts with it on, is that it becomes particularly susceptible to battle damage over time. If he's wearing the green shirt underneath, it could become torn and tattered in back to an extent that it resembles his MK3 look. It wouldn't be perfect, but it might add to his rugged survivor image.

I liked his look without the trench coat like in MK3, he felt more versatile without it to me and he looked more sleek and simplified.

I like the trenchcoat personally. I mean the only reason they didn't have it in MK3 to begin with was because they couldn't capture it properly. I just don't think he needs the backpack.

Defiantly! Love the Knee Pads to!
Trenchcoat, but remove the back back and make him look less bulky. Also i would like him to be one of the speedier characters, he was kind of slow in the last games, but he has the ability to go superspeed, why not make the rest of his normals reflect that.

I like how people are saying it's his "trademark", when Mavado had it first.

But yeah, trench coat is fine for Kabal.

Kabal was originally supposed to have the trenchcoat in MK3, but due to technical issues, they had to remove it. So it technically WAS his first, they just couldn't implement it until MKDA when they ripped Kabal off for Mavado.

As for me, I would like to see him have it. He seems more nomadic with it, and he obviously uses it to sell stolen items and organs to people all over the realms. He makes more money that way. And I guess they could do like in MKD and give him an alternate without it just because.

His Deception costume, including the backpack, is how he was always supposed to look, they just couldn't bluescreen the original concept art and had to modify it. So I say that's how he should always look now that they can do it properly.

I'm not sure. It's a mix bag with me. I like his look in MK3. In MKD, I liked his trend coat as well. Kabal's appearance in both incarnation were pretty bad-ass.

Although, I think it would be kinda cool in his intro he wore his trend coat, taunts his opponent, and then rips the coat off. ROUND 1 - FIGHT! But his respirator would have to move to the front if he's gonna do that...
