NO backpack whatsoever...trencoat is fine as long as it and his mask get ripped/busted up

As for the backpack thingy i think it should go. it might be hard to animate like when Kung Lao does his Saw Hat Fatality to Kabal, his backpack might go threw the floor or something when he falls to the ground, unless its animated really well not to, iduno

I'm not in favor of the Trench Coat. I don't want it to experience the "Kitana hair effect". Especially when doing Kung Lao's Buzzsaw Fatality on a Trench Coat that will most likely not have precanned animation to it.

I never thought of that, but if they can animate the cyborgs getting sliced in half I'm sure the backpack wouldn't be to much different. It would just be all electronic, without the fleshy bits.

Well it's kind of like when Cyrax did his X-ray move on Kung Lao. His hat animation went threw the floor, and i don't think it was supposed too but then again that was early footage shown so they could have fixed it by now. I just don't want that to happen with Kabal's backpack

I'm actually fine with/without trenchcoat. If without, it would allow Kabal freedom of movement and to be more agile, which is essentital especially in a fight. I also like his trenchcoat look; very Gambit-ish which is always cool in my book.
