Well in all honesty, know one else would have made sence to be on the cover VS Kratos. Maybe Raiden or Shao Kahn but Scorpion makes more sence then someone like Striker does.

GOW is the only popular XBOX exclusive franchise I can think of that would seamlessly fit into the MK universe (just as perfectly as Kratos.) Y'all can xpect one of them in the game, no doubt.

That covers detail looks outstanding, it seems the MK team in general have gotten better in the facial art department. GOOD LORD, this series has always had some of the worst face arts in the history of video games. Glad to see them stepping up!!!

No one is whining because their specific favorite isn't all over the magazine covers (which queve's is outside the US, btw, so you have even less of a reason to call him out). All cover-related complaints I've seen so far, be it from this magazine or, more strongly, the game cover, are simply rooted at the overexposure of the two ninjas, and just because you're their fanboy doesn't mean you should label others' opinions as being "butt-hurt".

Kratos = Money, Popularity, Blood, Gore, and could sell this game by himself.

Why is everyone freaking out over a magazine cover? There is only thing that I am not happy about and that is that some people might think that Kratos is the new face of Mortal Kombat. This just pisses me off so much I literally just want to go into a massive rage. Apart from that I think this is one of the best magazine covers I have ever seen. Calm Down! IT'S ONE PICTURE! RELAX!

First of all, it doesn't make sense to have Kratos fight ANY MK character in the first place, but that's for another discussion.

Scorpion has indeed been the head character for MK in a long time, NRS even has him on their logo. It's not about what makes sense or not, it's about representing the game. Scorpion is easily recognizable, but so are other characters such as Sub Zero, Raiden, Shao Kahn, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena and many others. All these characters represent Mortal Kombat just as much as Scorpion does.

I am aware they have put Kratos VS Scorpion on the cover so people can easily recognize it and buy the magazine, but other characters than Scorpion could have done the same. For instance, when Capcom wishes to promote Street Fighter, they don't always use Ryu even though he is the easiest recognizable SF character there is. They also use Chun Li, Guile, Zangief, M. Bison (JP: Vega), Akuma and others. It is not always Ryu, though perhaps more often than the others.

As with MK, it occurs to me that it is always Scorpion or Subbie who is put on front. And it is getting old. And that was why I made that sarcastic remark, because it truly didn't surprise anyone.

I used to like Scorpion, but after having him stuffed down my throat with every single MK-related news there is, I am getting pretty tired of him. And it's kinda sad, because he is a very cool character (unlike Ryu). I'm just asking for some variety.

I don't like Kratos because he reminds me of Quan Chi. And everyone knows how I feel about that waste of space.

Plus Kratos was already in Soul Calibur IV PSP. Along with that weird, weird mustache guy.

I've never played GoW though. I'm sure Kratos is much better than Quan Chi.

I think the cover is a BRILLIANT marketing ploy. It features two of gaming's most iconic characters fighting each other. If I wasn't interested in MK before, I'd definitely be interested now. It's eyecatching and the whole artistic direction of it is epic. Very nice perspective.

Hardcore MK fans are just upset because it has Kratos ruining the purity of "their" MK game, which is understandable. But as much as this a fanservice for us, it's BUSINESS. They are making a game to make money at the end of the day. Regardless, no matter how much we bitch and moan about Kratos we are going to play the game and enjoy it! I am at least.

I am going to skip right over Kratos and play as everyone else and be as happy as a pig in shit. And when I beat him with one of the real MK characters I will grin. It's a waste of my energy (in my opinion) to whine about something that is done and concrete. I think the comments that followed the magazine distribution online are PROOF that this kind of recognition is wonderful for MK. Ain't nothin wrong with gettin paid.

You do know that Quan Chi has nothing to do whether or not that rivalry exists, right? That rivalry was created long before Quan Chi was even designed. They just added him to the storyline to flesh it out more.

Why is there shock Scorpion is on the cover? He's Ed's favorite character but despite that he's the poster boy for MK in most ways! And it's called marketing boys & girls!
