Sorry, I know you're a huge Smoke fan, but I'd rather have 1 Smoke & 1 Rain than 2 Smokes & 0 Rains in the game from the start.
I'd buy Rain as DLC, but I don't think I'd buy another Smoke, I'm fine with one. So, Rain as DLC would cost me money, Smoke would not.
Sorry.

Edit: 2 smokes being in from the start isn't certain Cyber Smoke could be saved as DLC along with Rain.

I seem to recall that the entire point of the last post I made was to remind you guys specifically that this is NOT the appropriate thread to argue or play favorites about Smoke's two versions in.
Smoke arguments always derail threads. Badly. And nobody asked which one you guys like better (as if we couldn't guess when his account is named human-smoke-4-life anyway. Like it even needs to be said) so bringing it up was uncalled for. There's already a Smoke thread. (Possibly two of them) Go say it there. People care there. That's what that thread's for.
None of this dude's tweets were even ABOUT Smoke.

I still have my doubts on this..
who's lupinko? and why is his word taken as fact?

wow you all responded a minute after the other. Thanks for the explanation though.
alright reading up on him I see he confirmed Hsienko and Sentinel while the MvC3 producer tried to "deconfirm" him. I guess that means that Sheeva & Kintaro will in fact be in the game and with what Razor suggested Motaro would most likely be in as well.. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! *ahem* anyway This roster is complete for me provided that Rain and Cyborg Smoke are chosen as immediate downloadable content..anyone else is icing on the cake.

Thread's still not about Smoke, bro. Take it elsewhere, stop derailing. And learn to talk about characters other than your favorite, I guess? Kind of a one track mind you've got there. Weird how all this news and the only thing you can talk about is a guy who WASN'T actually mentioned.
From his Twitter:
@Zephyrus21 Oh I talked about the purple ninja earlier, I just wasn't upfront about it

Ahhh...I get it now.
Earlier, he posted "@MK_Casselman I know of the ninja that is not the korean r&b sensation, no info on my end on the whereabouts of this shinobi"
I kinda skipped that one at the time, but I just remembered there's a Korean singer named Rain. (He was also the lead actor in that movie Ninja Assassin)
But the tweet says he has no info about him. So, he has no idea if Rain's in the game or not.

No but it's still a lot. More than Netherrealm Studios / MK team can handle given their track record for creating unique fighters in a game. If they can make Kintaro really feel like a different fighter to fight against then they succeeded, but i doubt they will.
That's not a good reason. In fact, that's downright stupid. If they want to include everyone from that era, put them in the story mode. Don't make a giant roster of rushed characters just because they're "classic" (ie: so the fans won't throw a hissy fit when their special little character doesn't make the cut).

The reason there's so many chaarcters is because they were present during this era. Kintaro is here because of storyline purposes, he's a classic character and for some reason is somewhat popular. Even though he's the most boring Shokan. Mainly because he's a classic.

Someone hasn't been following this game since its announcement lol Alright here we go:
1. You have yet to see how Goro or Kintaro are going to fight or what it's going to be like to fight against them so hold your judgment and stop using speculation as facts.
2. Their "track" record was with Midway. You know, the company that went bankrupt? The team is now under WB and therefore has the time and resources to make this game great. If this game sucks then you know it's cuz of them and not the studio, but you don't know that so once again stop treating your speculations as facts
3. From the get-go the developers have said that if you have a favorite character from MK 1 - UMK 3 then they will most likely be in, plus that the roster size will be around 26. If you were too lazy to look this up that's fine but don't go around acting like this roster size is some curveball we just got and it'll mean shitty characters. Like someone else told you this game has been in development for awhile now so there is nothing "rushed" about it. They're taking their time with it which is good and if you have actually even watched the videos they've released you'll see that ALL of the fighters we've seen are unique and have a better sense of individualism
So pay attention to a product before you go and start complaining about it. The Team is doing an amazing job so far and the game is looking to be the best in the entire series. Show NRS some respect, have faith, get off your pedestal and enjoy the game instead of complaining about them somehow letting YOU(emphasized the you since you're the only one complaining) down

Acid Spitter already pretty much covered everything, but since I already wrote this out...
That's both speculative and, historically, just not true.
Goro from MK1 and Kintaro from MK2 played VERY differently. Fighting each one was a completely different experience. To this day, there are people who can body Goro in MK1 but can't hold up half a minute against Kintaro in MK2. If you're using MKA as your standard of measure, that doesn't make sense: MK2011 has a completely different fighting engine. And even then, there were still significant variations between the characters in MKA.
And even if they didn't play differently back then, there's no reason they'd play identically now. They could easily make Kintaro a very different type of battle than Goro without any extra development time.
But let's say they do play the same way... why is that justification for omitting Kintaro? Having two sub-bosses instead of three isn't going to improve the game in any practical way. Before you say, "they should have a different boss other than Kintaro," that's out of the question: there is no other boss. The candidates for the sub-boss position have been exhausted.

Agreed, it seems like Skarlett is going to turn out to be MK9's main Hidden Character.
I mean, according to his tweets, they haven't even decided on a name for her yet. Apparently, they're not automatically picking the name "Skarlett"...though it'd be a little weird of them to call her anything else since that's the name the whole fanbase knows the concept of a red female ninja by best.
After all, they only changed "Torch" to Blaze because they couldn't legally call a character Torch, Marvel owns the trademark. "Scarlet" is a real human name and as far as I'm aware, nobody owns a character who spells it with a K.
'Course, if they ever made Hornbuckle playable, I don't think anyone sane would object to changing that name. It is pretty hard to take seriously.

Well, Shaun Himmerick said hidden characters that didn't exist, they were gonna make sure they exist now. So I assume 'Red Ninja #3' isn't the only one
I guess we'll see Liu Kang's palette swap as well.
Side note:
With her, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Rain, Ermac, Chameleon, Noob Saibot, Smoke ,Cyrax, Sektor, Jade, Kitana, Mileena, Tanya, Frost and Khameleon, that's alot of ninjas. EDIT: Didn't see Razor's post. I agree. I can't think of any other name to call her besides Krimson if that isn't copyrighted or trademarked.

Tanya's not a ninja. She's just a girl in a leotard.
