Geez, I really hated Sonya's and Kitana's look in MKD-MKA. They looked so manly and fake! I perfer Sonya's mk4 and Kitana's mksm! I also hope they change Mileena's voice actor to the same one in MKD-MKA cuz she sounded REALLY threatening! Now she just screams like a thirteen-year-old girl!

Not to mention, when you kill Mileena, THAT is how a person should be scream. The girl knew how to scream. I'm with you, Mileena MKD voice and Sindel MKD voice.

Hell I should create another separate post cuz that's one problem I see in this game! I see characters like Johnny Cage being sliced in half, he sounded stupid: "ah ah ah AH!" That was it! You don't hear him begging for mercy like in Deception!

I hope Sheeva's in. I kinda had the hots for her in MK3 and her outfits in MK:A rocked! Sadly though in MK:A her legs looked weird and her hands and feet were too large. Also, I didn't like how they gave her a huge mohawk in MK:A. It was better in MK3, or I would had liked it if her hair was pulled back into a ponytail or a braid. She should come back looking more like she did in MK3: http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w307/anonymousrex31/Mortal%20Kombat/Sheeva04.png

But people have to give her credit for her purpose; she was the first playable Shokan, and because she's a girl her proportions worked as a balanced character, unlike Goro and Kintaro that were mountains of muscle with short legs and very long arms. They made Goro and Kintaro's arms shorter and legs longer in 3D so that they could be balanced, but that actually disappointed me, they looked alot more imposing and cooler in the old 2D games.

I actually think the hyper sexuality works for Mileena. Like someone said before she is insanely jealous of Kitana seeing as she is beautiful and cause of Mileenas face she is seen as hideousness. She is showing off the positive (she has an amazing bod) while hiding the negatives (her face)

think of it this way. If we were talking Mortal Kombat Rebirth (imagining MK characters in real life situations) I could see Kitana and Mileena as identical twins in their teens/early 20's. Kitana is beautiful and has always had the guys after her. Mileena however due to a birth defect has messed up teeth and needs to wear permanent braces and headgear and cause of this none of the boys want anything to do with her despite having the same beautiful body. After years of physical and verbal abuse she finally snaps. She becomes a stripper that wears a veil and hunts down and kills men who are abusive. She lures them in with her looks and kills them by biting a huge chunk out of their neck with her razor sharp bracces

If I remeber correctly, Kitana and Mileena's attire was basicly a bathing suit.

Then in UMK3 they addes some cleavage... yet pretty much a bathing suit.

And came up MKGold... in wich both Mileena and Kitana were almost the same as in UMK3 except Mileena had a mask. Still bathingsuit like.

True... leotard it is.
Never the less, it was still lest trampy than what she,s wearing today.

I think those "almost nude" costume should be programmed as alternate.

Plus, the Next MK is set in the era of MK1-2-3 were Kiatana and Mileena were working for ShaoKhan as twin assasins. Now how Mileena is supposed to pass for Kitana is she's walks around naked all the time? lol

Well Ed Boon did say the story would be told differently this time around so maybe the Twin Assassin thing wont happen this time around.

Also the first time I played Mortal Kombat was when I was 5 years old. I went into my uncles arcade and randomly played MK 2. I had no idea what I was doing but when I got to the character select screen and got to Kitana I said "why is she wearing a bathing suit"? lol

Also I know its not a big deal but would it kill Devs to put some "street clothes" in fighting games like as an alternate attire. You said it best, this is the attire that Mileena / Kitana wears all the time. It would be cool if you select either Fighting attire or Street Attire

Also I hope they allow you to edit attire colors in this game like Soul Calibur 4 does and kinda like Super Street Fighter 4.

Outworld doesn't have t-shirts and jeans, man. It's a medieval culture in a permanent state of war and they live in a castle. Ninja leotards probably ARE what Kitana and Mileena wear every day in casual situations.

That's what I don't like. I find it hard to believe anyone would wear a "ninja leotard" as an everyday outfit. I know it's a game and all, but really!

I sort of agree with this. While I don't want "Earth" street clothes on Outworld characters, they could have something a little different. I refuse to believe the entire realm of Edenia refuses to wear any pants.

I think the trouble is we haven't seen most of the MK girls wear anything else apart from swimsuits/leotards. Hell even in MKDA-MKD-MKA, when they had the technology to do awesome they did leotards as both outfits.

That's true, but, in their defense we did get:

Sonya: Well, all her costumes.

Li Mei: Her MKDA primary (which is gorgeous) and her MKD alt (which is superb)

Kira: Her MKD primary and alt where quite different, no? But I guess they still count as leotards? Maybe not?

Ashrah: Her MKD primary.

I think thats it. :-/ You have a point.

Thanks, it actually gets worse when you break it down like that. Because ignoring Sonya, The alts weren't too alternative.

All 4 (or 3?) of Li Mei's alts were combos of purple and pink.
Both of Kira's costumes were black and red leather
The only real difference in Sareenas was either skirt or hot pants
Ashrahs were both white.

(of course - Millions of other MK characters are guilty too)

So Team MK - have some frigging fun with designing the alts for crying out loud. Go mental. Fuck it have Mileena wear some tye dye t shirt and jeans.

Maybe not that mental, but play around. If Kitana isn't wearing blue dont worry! we still know its Kitana.

The characters' costumes are too similar for you because they have color schemes? Seriously, that's what you're going with?

True story to my recollection the only female character that had any bit of armor on was Lei Mei's alternate costume For MKDA and we all know how grotesque that costume was. But also lets not forget that a suit of armor is a little impractical considering these are supposed to be highly skilled martial artists so realistically their outfits should designed for maximum mobility.

I think if they have Ashrah, they should get rid of her STOOPID hat! I understand that it was fashionable for women and nuns in old Japan to wear such as hats but it just looks impractical. When I first saw her, I was like WTF is she Raiden's girlfriend or something? She looks better without it like her secondary but I perfer her primary if it wasn't for that dumb hat!

Yes. Why not? Its an alternate costume. Its meant to look different enough from the primary so that when you do a Liu Kang Vs Liu Kang match of death you can tell which is which.

Or maybe I'm just coming from a bizarre Soul Calibur, Tekken, Virtua Fighter world.

That is true if you guys are talking about the original, older MK games where the alternate costumes were just a slightly tinted colour of the primary one but if you play the newer games the alternate costume is quite different from the primary one

Alternate costumes shouldn't be completely out of character just for the sake of looking vastly different from the main costumes.

Agreed. But the purpose of an alternate costume is to look somewhat different form the primary one.

Check this out.

Primary:

Good Alternate:

Not a Good Alternate:

Now, I totally agree that an alternate should look noticeably different from the primary, but color has little to nothing to do with it and in fact, changing the color scheme can be a BAD idea for certain characters, because the colors they wear are part of their identity.

Yes, Some can get away with it. Kung Lao works in either blue or brown. Liu Kang can go with or without a red stripe on his pants, hell he could probably get away with a yellow tracksuit because he's a Bruce Lee Clone, and I myself have drawn an alt for him where he's in the orange robes that regular Shaolin monks wear. Shang Tsung, Jax, Kano, and Baraka can pretty much wear any damn thing they want, there's little to no consistency from game to game for them.

But the ninjas, all of them, male, female, and cyborg, all pretty much have to wear the colors they're known for even in their alts, because that's an actual part of their identity. Maybe you could identify Kitana just by face and hair (although I don't know how since they keep fuckin' changing it), but to the casual observer, she IS "the blue one." The only possible exception is Reptile because his scales cover the need for green now, so he can pull off crazy shit like purple pants. Also, Sonya needs to have either green or camo on her somewhere. And Raiden needs to be in the colors of electricity: white, blue, and yellow, unless it's Dark Raiden (see that? Wearing different colors actually denotes he has a different personality)
My point is that alternate costumes should look different, yes, but they still have to look like something the character would actually wear. They have to fit their personality and identity. Kitana in pants or a dress would be fine, but make it a blue and black dress. And Mileena in tie-dye and jeans is just plain dumb.
So Team MK - have some frigging fun with designing the alts for crying out loud. Go mental. Fuck it have Mileena wear some tye dye t shirt and jeans.
.

Picturing Mileena as a hippy wearing a Tie Dye shirt, blue jeans and flip flops is making me lol..

I do think it would be cool if they had a character edit system like Tekken 6 has where you can spend your money you earn winning matches to purchase new clothes for the fighters so you can make your own alternates

I always had a feeling that the female fighters never got the attention male fighters got. Kitana in MK2 was the last female that I found really impressive. There hasn't been a female fighter after that, I was really impressed by.
