I've actually thought of a similar combination of the Chameleon twins, except my idea was to literally combine them, much like Baron Ashura from Mazinger Z:

4.Bo'Rai Cho story reasons mainly.

5. Drahmin- More monsters would be sweet and I loved his origin story and would love to see what they could do given the time, dedication and the ability to drop his silly specials, like the ball o flies.

Who's upset? I don't expect ANY of this, well I expect Rain and thats about it. I was just spitballing ideas for what I COULD see them doing.

I'm gladly going to download whatever they release, and unlike most people I'll be grateful for what they do. Doesn't mean I can't want more.

Shinnok and Bo Rai Cho are the only characters I really want to see in as DLC. I really liked what they did with Shinnok in MKA, move-wise, and I think a lot of that would work in the 2D plane. Bo Rai Cho can add the humour that the main roster is lacking (though for good reason). And his storyline increases my interest there.


Randomly throwing other character ideas out on the table too: Kai could be cool if he's closer to his MK4 playstyle. Fujin would be neat too. Kenshi would work, but I fear his playstyle would be too similiar to Ermac's. Mavado might be neat too, if only for storyline reasons with Kano (and Kabal).

So if you had to eliminate one character from this list, giving you a total of five votes including Bo' Rai Cho and Shinnok, who would it be?

Mavado, easily. Shinnok is really the only one I absolutely want to see as DLC. Though I acknowlege it would be pretty far-fetched for storyline reasons. (He's been banished until the events of MK4, if I'm not mistaken.)

I don't think Ermac and Kenshi would fight similar, besides using telekentic abilities, I see them fighting as complete opposites.
Ermac is more a mystic wizard completely unleashing his powers, a great defensive distance player.
Kenshi is a swordsman first and uses his telekentic abilities as a bonus. Kenshi is going to need to be a fast agressive player to get close enough with the sword.
And telekentic abilities is one of the easiest to come up with new moves.

Beside ermac and kenshi only have 1 ability the same there different in many ways

Considering the game is simply "Mortal Kombat" and that there have been a couple of spin-offs during its time line, I would like to see at least Mythologies: Sub-Zero to make a triumphant return in the form of downloadable content - its name would also fit nicely with the original name when you'd just add the Mythologies: Sub-Zero in it, you know.

They could also consider now making Mythologies: Scorpion or maybe fuse these two together. They would not be as long as the original Mythologies game but they'd still include the major plot keys. Special Forces is possible too. There could be a couple of new characters in it too.

Other ideas would be a new mode called Motaro Mode where you are beating an invincible Motaro until your inevitable death; the more you hurt him the more points you gain. You would also receive Motaro as a playable character from it and possibly an exclusive arena for Motaro. Similar to Car Crush in Street Fighter.

Hot Seat Mode. This is something that fighting games haven't gotten despite the fact how simple yet functional it can be. In Hot Seat Mode you can see two CPUs fighting against each other and you can press start at any given time to join the fight. After this you will be able to fight whatever you desire of course. You could easily turn it on and off from the menu. If it's turned on, the game launches the mode after a few minutes of wait. Fits for parties especially.

First and foremost i would like:
RAIN - He's pretty much been my 2nd fav since ever since UMK3 and i LOVED his royal look, then its..
KENSHI - Definitely close on the heels of Rain as being my 2nd fav.
ASHRAH - Wonderful character and i love that she was called and "Ascending Demon" as opposed to "Fallen Angel" by creators.
KHAMELEON - Great storyline and a lot of potential BUT needs her own moves.
REIKO - My fav new character in MK4 and loved his fatalities.
BO' RAI CHO - Hilarious and interesting character.
FUJIN - Great god character and really enjoyed his moves in MKA.
FROST - Wanna know more about her and others like..
TANYA, LI MEI, KAI, and JAREK (with his new/individual MKA moves)

I've thought in the past that Mythologies should get an HD Remix treatment. Many of its issues come from its visual presentation due to technology limitations, and with some engine tweaking it could turn out considerably better than previously.

Just replace the live-action cutscenes with CG cutscenes using the MK9 models and Unreal Engine.

Also, as much as I would love to see Shinnok, I think he would serve better as a boss of a future MK game instead.

I thought I'd point out that I've added more votes from another DLC thread that died out a few weeks ago. There are now 143 voters with 685 votes.

Since I can easily pull up everyone's name that has contributed, I really don't mind checking to see if a potential voter has already voted. I'm just noticing that many of you that are listing five characters (and more) have already voted in the past.

I bring this up because I don't want people to be surprised when the number of voters don't match up according to the number of users that have voted in this new thread. For anyone that has listed five DLC characters in the past, your votes are final. I hope you all can understand that.

Other than that, carry on and keep the votes coming. I'm just trying to get an accurate representation of what this community would like as DLC, with the intention of keeping NRS up-to-date in the process.
