Thank GOD it's not NECA making these. Their QC is so fucking terrible I don't think I could stand it.

Anyway, my body is ready, my wallet, however, is not. Though hopefully this means we'll see some of their unreleased stuff from before, such as:

Oh and that 3 3/4 line they were gonna do too, so I can update my Joe-sized MK figs. I will also buy all of these, whether I want them or not, because judging by the last series, if I want them later, I'll have to pay out the ass on eBay to get them

Who do you think the other two will be? Considering that the four of the six revealed were present in the first trailer, we can assume that the other two will be from this group:

Sektor
Nightwolf
Mileena (although someone made a point about Jazwares never releasing female characters)
Kung Lao
Reptile
Shao Kahn

I'm guessing Reptile since we already have two of the ninja-themed characters, and Jazwares previously created a Reptile figure along with Scorpion and Sub Zero. As for the other, maybe Kung Lao.

Reptile and Kahn:
-Jazwares never gave the monks much love in the Shaolin Monks line, plus Kung Lao doesn't seem like he'd be too cool looking, since there's never much change in his design.
-The only female I've ever seen Jazwares release was a Sonic the Hedgehog Amy, which was only in a two pack with Sonic.
-Nightwolf doesn't have enough fans
-Sektor seems like he'd be too advanced to be properly articulated while still looking good.

These were my favorite figures MK ever got. I still am impressed at the size and detail, and, even better, they were from the MK1-MK2 golden era.

Though I'd be lying if I didn't say the original G.I. Joe figures weren't amazing in their own way.

I have one of the mk 2 action figurine: Liu Kang. I have also sub-zero, Goro and raiden from the first Mk.

Awesome! I to wish that another toy maker was behind them, but rather have them than not. Jazwares needs to make this time around perfect. The paint was awful on those MK:D figures. I own Scorpion and Sub-Zero. The only place that had them was Big Lots! That's a bad thing. The MK:SM(as stated)were better, but no real change in characters:
Make some that we haven't seen. Cyrax, Sector, Mileena, Nightwolf, Shang Tsung, and yes...Shao Kahn. The only figure ever made of him was from MK Trilogy, which I have mint. How could we get so many figures made from 1 single game, and not get the Big Bad Guy. It would've been cool if they would've made a Dragon King to go with the MK:D line as well.
I agree that WB knows how to promote games, and everything else they do ;)
For MK fans, it's well deserved.

As happy as i am there making MK figures again I'm a little disappointed that Jazzware is the company doing them.

Hmm I thought they would have learned from the horrible Deception and Shaolin monks figures not to go with that company again

Raiden, Scorpion, Sub-Zero? BORING. Can't they throw us a few curve balls for once? Jade? Kitana? Sonya? Nightwolf? Cyrax? Sektor? For fuck sakes, why not just release a figure for every character?

They will in time. When the line was last canned they were working on one of the cyborgs. But for the beginning of a line that you want to sell, you should always go with a safe bet. So yes, they're going to start with the ninjas, who are the casuals' favorites. Give the line time to get past series 1 and you'll be seeing more like MIleena, Jax, Sonya, etc. For now, just support the line by buying it, and hope for the best

I remember getting my Sonya one in 1994 wen i was 4 and taking it to school and throwin it in the air and getting it stuck on the roof.
I bought it from Kwik Save, now there's a flashback! lol

I was gutted!

These new ones are pretty darn snazzy.

I'm curious, I own a couple of MK3-era figures that came with (for some explainable reason) Kabal hookswords. Which line of figures were those?

I hope these new ones look awesome!

Sounds like the Hasbro ones. Though I think the Toy Island ones may have come with them as well

Awesome! WB buying MK was the best possible thing to happen for us MK fans who dig this kind of merchandise stuff.

I still have The Goro statue that sits on the MK base from forever ago. I also have the Cyrax MKT figure. And I have the MK:SM Scorp and Sub-Zero ones that you see on e-bay for a ridiculous price these days. The MK:SM ones were really awesome, so hopefully they at least give us that quality when it comes to the new ones.

If I had to take a guess on who would be included in the first series:

1.Sub-Zero
2.Scorpion
3.Raiden
4.Johnny Cage
5.Mileena
6.Kitana

Hopefully we get some Cyrax and Sektor ones, since the MKT ones were the last ones they offered of them.

That sounds like a figure from the MK Trilogy line. Toy Island made them.

I hope Jazwares either makes all of the characters, or we get some fresh faces. I don't want to have to wait until series 5 to get the cool characters. I've seen a lot of cool toy lines cancelled before production. Mostly due to lack of interest. Companies shouldn't wait so long to get all the characters made.

A little off topic, not sure who follows Mortal Kombat on facebook, but a few weeks back there was a post about how the Goro head from the first MK movie found a new home at NetherRealm Studios. I was think at the time how cool it would be if NRS/WB would license the right to Sideshow Collectibles to make a replica bust for sale. I would easily pay the $200+ for something like that.
