I bought it from Kwik Save, now there's a flashback! lol

I was gutted!

These new ones are pretty darn snazzy.

Oh shit. Did you ever get it back or is it still up there...16+ years later?

One thing that bothered me about the Shaolin Monks line, is the weapons. The figures would come with some weapons - some of which were just thrown in seemingly at random, as they had nothing to do with the character. The worst part was that they couldn't hold the weapons. At. All. Clenched fists and open palms are NOT good for gripping swords and such.

EH, better than nothing, which is what we got with the Deception figures. Seriously, half of them didn't come with the accessories they were supposed to

The MKSM line's Scorpion can hold his kunai perfectly.
Kano came with knives that...well, they're a little loose in his hands 'cause the handles are too small, but they fit fine in his boot sheathes. What bums me out about the knives is they don't look anything like the ones he's ever used in any game. They're tiny and triangular.

But anyway, nobody else even needs weapons. The swords everybody else came with, that were from in-game in Shaolin Monks, the ones you pick up off the floor, or the big green ones you stabbed into Baraka in the boss fight, they didn't even need to be part of the line at all, who needs them?

When I was 9 I lit my Shang Tsung toy on fire with only a burning paper towel and some sort of flammable liquid (I think it was nail polish remover).
I didn't fuck around when it came time to play Mortal Kombat.

Raiden, Scorpion, Sub-Zero? BORING. Can't they throw us a few curve balls for once? Jade? Kitana? Sonya? Nightwolf? Cyrax? Sektor? For fuck sakes, why not just release a figure for every character?

So true.

More boring and predictable figures of Scorpion and Sub-Zero? Fuck. We've got enough of those already.

I'm betting most fans would be more impressed and excited to see other characters that go from Ermac to Sektor and Sindel to Kabal and even Nightwolf than getting more figures of those 2 ninjas and the most recent ones (featured in MKD and MKSM line).

I'd take a Mokap figure/statue over a Scorpion or Sub-Zero any day (that's how fucking bored I am of these two).

Poor Sonya.

Being the obsessive fanboy that I am, I'm tempted to buy a plane ticket and travel all the way to your school just to take a peak at that roof. wink

...I just remembered my GI Joe Sub-Zero was the unfortunate victim of a re-enactment of a Pit II fatality from twenty feet up, by Scorpion's hand, onto a driveway.

I was a stupid child, really. Imaginative, but stupid.
If they make a Sektor one, I will buy it.

All my old MK figures suffered the same exact fate over and over again: the rubber band that connects their torso to their legs broke from the stress of constantly putting them into flying kick-type poses. God, GI Joe toys were shitty quality.

The only "interesting" loss of an action figure I ever had as a kid was one time I froze a Robin for a fight w/ Mr. Freeze, and when I went to break the ice, his leg broke with it 'cause, being a kid, I didn't realize extreme cold would make the plastic brittle.

Nooooooooooooooooo....

I was so excited when I read the headline...

Then I read Jazwares was doing them again and it dashed my hopes and dreams. It had been so long I'd hoped they'd never touch MK action figures again.

Seriously, those things were hideous. The deception ones more than the shaolin monks ones, but the shaolin monks ones too.

Comparing SOTA's Street Fighter line to Jazwares Mortal Kombat line makes me sad to be a Mortal Kombat fan.

SOTA's Street Fighter action figures were damn near flawless. If we could have a line like that for MK toys... I'd die of happiness.

I'd onlt do that to my little brother's toys. I'd punt power rangers off steep hills onto tennis court. I remember one time I took his Gohan and burned his face off. He was transformed into MELT MAN, WITH THE POWER TO....MELT

A friend and I once dropped the MKT Cyrax off of the top floor of one of those giant rocket ship structures they used to have at parks...you know, the ones that always felt like they were leaning...lol Needless to say, it broke, but some glue and nails in the screw holes in his back, was enough to fix him. Still looks like he's in decent shape.

I thought the MK:SM Sub-Zero and Scorpion ones were awesome. I still have them posed next to the Goro statue thing on my entertainment stand. I thought they were excellent quality myself. I am ok with Jazzwares producing these, as long as they are at least the quality of the MK:SM ones...the Deception ones looked horrible, glad I didn't buy into those. lol I usually eat up as much MK merch. as I can get my hands on, since in the last 10 years it's been tough for us merch. wise(thankfully WB is here to save the day heh), but even those I had to say "No thanks". Just awful awful designs...

Those MK Deception figures may look horrible, but some reason they still bring $$ on eBay. Plus, it's the only Sub-Zero figure ever made with that awesome outfit. That makes it cool.

I would like to see jazwares come out with a shao kahn action figure with 2 heads that you can swap on with the helmet on and one with it off. and finally release kintaro.
