He's the only guy I know who habitually does pictures of Kano flipped so the eye and bandolier are on the wrong side. He did it in MKvsDCU, he did it in his redesign fan art, and now it's been done again, so either it's him or it's some weird coincidence that it's happened thrice in a row.

Also, Kano's is all blurry when you zoom to fullsize, even after it's finished loading. Is it supposed to be like that? Is that the way NRS sent it or did the upload go bad on MKO's end?

Saw Sonya's face close up and wow does she look scary. Hot and well detailed in the body and stuff... but the face has weird modelling :S from what I saw of Kitana's, the same applied. Tried some of the guys faces too adn they had similar problems but its less obvious because they're not supposed to be hot chicks...

I'm having bad lag too, must be the site.

The lag issues are most likely MKO. We've always had issues when we upload a large amount of images on the front page, especially since most of these images are extremely large.

As for the images themselves, I just took a look at the file WB sent to us. These are uploaded exactly as they were sent to us.

First of all, these are all freaking long overdue and it is a real shame we still haven't seen more of the other primary renders/concept art in HQ.

That being said: I am extremely happy and grateful that we (finally) have gotten these pictures in HQ. They are absolutely awesome and glorious.

Thank you NRS! Now:

1) Most of them are very impressive, beautiful, and awesome.

2) Some of them are just meh and rather uninspired in the poses (ninjas look very similar) and detail.

3) A few of them are very strange in art style. The way they are drawn is not exactly what I'm used to see in MK (like Johnny's). I don't like that.

4) All the Kitana bashing is not surprising at all. With the current thread about Kitana's bad portrayal plus the other ones about her costumes I'm feeling like it has become some kind of trend in the community.

5) Are there no official HQ renders of the alternates like Sonya's render? ((click me to see the HQ render picture of her alt)). Hopefully we'll some day see some like this.

6) I'm loving Sonya's render and that costume is most definitely one of my top favorites EVER. Can anyone make out the interesting reflection in her glasses? Is that a room?

....maybe Johnny's room? lol.

Awesome awesome pictures. I'm so happy we finally got these (thanks NRS!) and I truly hope for the (extremely long overdue) release of the primary costume renders in all their huge HQ glory.

See, WHY couldn't they have used THAT render for Jade's alt outfit art in the game?! I don't understand what went wrong...

But anyways, it's quite nice to get some HQ art with the alternate outfits. ^^

They're red in the game. They always make tweaks from concept art to the final version. There were some variations in the art booklet where he had red eyes or red lightning. And notice how Sub-Zero's has a Lin Kuei logo on the chest? That's not in the game.

While I'm noticing stuff: What is up with the yellow sections of Baraka's armor smoking and steaming like there's hot coals or lava inside?

Kitana looks fantastic! I love how everyone loves to talk about her =). Her alternative is growing on me so much, I can honestly say now that I really like it.
