It is NOT Motaro. It is a pet of Shao Kahn's called Tedora? Or something very similar.

I'd like to see this doctored version where the text is readable, 'cause it's blurry as shit and I can't make out one letter.

All I managed to do was adjust the contrast via software. I then read the text at a tilted view (tilted my monitor backwards slightly).

Try it yourselves. I am certain it says what I was able to make out.

If somebody can digitally enhance the text and give a full translation then go right ahead! I managed to fill in some of the blanks. But a full description would be perfect!

EDIT: Nevermind,I actually looked at the picture. I could've sworn it was Motaro myself,though. That scorpion tail is pretty distinctive.

I'm not doubting the gist, I'm just wondering it it's not too early to be sure that's the creature's name. It certainly looks like it starts with a T, but beyond that, how can you make out the exact spelling? It'd be kind of funny to be Boon getting a bunch of tweets right now going "Tedora, Tedora!" and he's thinking "What the fuck is a tedora?"

Yeah I can appreciate that. I'm not entirely sure. But it definitely begins with a T.

My instinct says TEDORA.

But it could also be.

Many threads to be made about how to unlock Tedora. 5 DPs for anyone able to enhance this image so I can have a complete translation of that text.

See...I'm kinda seeing two letters with stalks, like it's not t-e-d, maybe it's t-e-l-d or t-e-l-b or t-e-d-l or something like that. And how can you tell the last letter's an a and not an o or e? They're all vaguely round-ish.

Like I said Razor, I've increased the contrast to the text and I am reading it at an angle with my PC monitor tilted backwards slightly which in itself adjusts the composition of the screen. Try it with your own screen.

That's not quite an exact science. Whatever you're seeing on your screen, I'm probably not seeing it the same way, but right now, it looks to me like there's more than one long, tall letter between the te and the or.

Well until somebody manages to enact their genius at enhancing the image, We are going to have to wait on a complete confirmation of how the creatures name is spelt.

But until then we have some of the text translated so we can go by that.

At least we now know that it isn't Motaro afterall...

I'm just saying, it's silly as all hell to run around talking and tweeting about a name we can't even read right. I don't see why we can't just call it "Kahn's cat monster" until we can read the damn page for sure so we don't all sound like doofuses.

I did get all excited for it being Motaro but this new character has me just as intrigued.

Well...it's not really a "character". I mean, not any more than the Tormentor in the Arena is. Or the Masked Guards or Shadow Priests.

And frankly, I find the idea of Kahn keeping a pet kinda weird. He never struck me as a cat person.

Oh well.

I'm sure Motaro's in the game anyway now that Sheeva's been confirmed-if-you-believe-the-source. You can't really have one without the other if you're doing an MK3 remake.
