Does anyone else think Reptile's forceball takes too much time before it is finally released from his hands?

No, but I do think it doesn't toss the player far enough.

Maybe it's kind of a charged attack you can hold as long as you want and release whenever you want (ie the ball goes flying when you release the buttons).
At least, that was what I was thinking.
