When Ed Boon states that only characters from MK 1 through 3 are in the game, that leads me to think that he meant only characters that were playable in those games, not characters who weren't, although they had some part in the story. He's mentioned in story mode? Fine. But don't have him take up the space of -any- character from MK 1 - 3, because I liked all of them (Rain included).

Except he's never said that.

What he said was "if you have a favorite from the first three games, they're probably going to make it in" and that there would be a few surprises too he's going to keep secret.

In any case, I don't want Bo Rai' Cho taking up a slot that would otherwise be filled by a MK 1 - 3 character, or take up a slot for a secret (old or) new character. Basically, I don't want him in the game period, at the expense of a limited roster. I'm totally fine if he is a DLC character.
