Every fighting game game needs a comical character. And I think Bo'Rai Cho is the perfect character to fill out that role in Mortal Kombat. He has a serious storyline which is evened out with his cool and funny special moves. The fact that he is a wise old sage... who is so disgusting that he vomits and farts... is just excellent!
He adds something to the series that none of the other characters do. Mortal Kombat is filled with buffed up guys, sexy women and fierce monsters... it gets boring eventually. So the few characters who differ from the main aspect of the "perfect" fighters adds more colours to the game. Drahmin was an example of it as well, but I think he was a failure of a character. I liked that he was an actual looking demon from the Netherrealms, instead of being a human-looking one like Sareena and Quan Chi, and his attached club was rather neat, but the mask was just ugly, his overall character design was boring and his moves were as well... except the Propeller Clock move where he swings his clubbed-arm around, I liked that.
Mortal Kombat has only a very few of such characters, and they are needed to make the game more interesting. I'd like to see Bo'Rai Cho return, if not as playable, then as a storyline element.

Thanks to all, Bo' Rai Cho takes to levels beyond that of the colored ninjas and half-assed goth wannabe females of MK.

Agreed. While most disliked him, outside Stryker. He was one of my favorite characters to use in MKA. He didn't have a lot of damage due to being toned down but he was still fun to use. As a gamer & avid MK fan, I don't base judgement on a character off Body Language. Although I think for the majority most of us chuckled about his farting in MKDA for awhile anyway. You can't deny he was a beast. And MAX difficulty on MKDA proved that. MKD, well, online was never the same again when he was re-introduced. If they brought him back, I wouldn't mind this approach on him AGE define wise:

Bo' Rai Cho is a great character. And I'm in to put him a more serious look... but please, he had one of the best Fatalities EVER in MKD, don't remove that.

If I remember correctly, He betrayed outworld for 2 reasons.
1) Kung Lao asked him to come to earthrealm to train warriors at the Wu Shi Academy.
2) Earthrealm's rice wine put Outworlds liquor to shame.
That's what I clearly remember from DA. Not sure how much of that is canon.

Lau Chan, as seen on the picture there from the Virtua Fighter franchise, looks more like Shujinko in my opinion. However, it surely proves that the older men of fighting games can still look very cool. Bo'Rai Cho is more a Shun Di character though who is also a drunken master.

I looked it up, and according to his bios, he didn't even betray Outworld, he just secretly trained warriors on Earthrealm. Though if he were in the reboot I'd love to see some deeper reason. Like a pure hatred for what Outworld has become or something to that effect, with the reasons above securing his allegiance to Earthrealm.

Yea, I know bro. I'm just saying if they brought him back. They should go with a little bit more of a Regal Approach, and define him more to a serious level. With Lau Chan when you see his eyes in that picture. It says alot. Passion, Prowess, & Confident. Which I think Bo' Rai Cho is due to MKD, teaching Shujinko & that warriors medallion he had. Shun Di yes, he has the style and swagger. But I think by now Bo' has grown more mature through his teachings. Similar to how serious he took it in MKD with Shujinko. My opinion though.

Ah, ok. My mistake then on the Betray part. I would defiantly think though most of the reason he'd left is because of the Corruption there.

Oh, I totally agree. Giving him a more dignifying and serious look would fit him well. However, I don't want them to remove all the comical traits he has.

Bo Rai Cho is the worst MK character, period. He really has no business returning in this game.

There's no way he'll make it to this game.
Stop worrying.

Damn at first i thought you were mad he wasn't going to be in the game.
First off, he's a good character but I hate that he is for comic relief. That's what Johnny Cage was for. He can be fat and drunk all he wants, but he needs to quit with that childish vomiting and stuff.
But he does not need to be another generic old white haired man with a beard either, for everyone posting those pics.

Alright then. Travel back in time and kill him off the series and pretend he never existed.

I don't hate the concept of a drunken master type character, but Bo's design and execution was not to my taste. They should have gone with an older appearance, as well as drop all the immature comical stuff. It's ok for him to have a comical side, such as the master from Kill Bill, but for him to be using stuff you'd find on a 9 year old's character creation, is just lame.

I just loved him because Boracho means drunk in Spanish. I thought it was a funny play on words naming him Bo Rai Cho. Comic relief...however, he could definitely kick some ass!

Bo'Rai Cho is not my favorite, but he is a great character. He needs to be more serious and be done away with the vomiting and farting.
PS. I like Hsu Hao.

who rmember in mkd he use to fart to get up lol he needs even a more serious approach

Though greasy, fat AND disgustingly gross and probably sweaty, I think it'd be good to see him back in this new one even if not as playable, but as the trainer for practice modes or even in the background or some type of guide like a lot of games have, since Raiden's apparently playable (last I heard, sorry if I've heard wrong)

I really hope that Bo Rai Cho doesn't make any further appearances in any MK.

Bo was one of the better characters of the MK4-MKA era. The humourous stuff was good but got old fast. So I'd hope they'd make his character much more serious.

I will be honest Bo Rai Cho use to piss me off just from the sight of him, but I cant deny that he has a pretty solid overall backround and is a character despite being a fat drunk can still kick ass. Even though the game is going for a serious atmosphere this doesnt mean he cant be included. Minus the farting and vomiting his fighting style was cool and I can imagine a serious Bo Rai Cho using Drunkin Fist and not having to be considered a horrible character like Mokap........yeah I went there......Mokap is Garbage.

Bo Rai Cho is siiik. I think out of all the new characters (MK: DA and on), him & Kenshi are the most original characters & the only ones worthy of coming back for this MK...
