This is one of the best incarnations of Ermac ever! He is 2nd in my top ninjas and 3rd in my top MK characters. Seeing that now he is in the game, i am happy. If Noob and Smoke make the cut then I will be the happiest man in the world! Couldn't give a shit about Rain though.

Just received my issue in the mail. Definitely the best Ermac ever. Sonya looks amazing too. Finally, she has a womanly shape and face.

The game opens with Shao Kahn defeating Raiden at the end of Armageddon, with Raiden using the last of his strength to warn MK1 Raiden that Kahn must not be allowed to become ruler of the universe.

Boon says that if players have a favorite character from the first 3 Kombats, there is a 99.9% chance they are in the roster.

Kratos will not be in story mode. He will be in arcade mode and have his own move set, themed fighting stage (with a stage fatality), introduction, storyline, and fatalities.

"Ermac's fatalities include telekinetic attacks where he lifts an opponent up in the air and then does horrible, terrible things to them."

Referring to x-ray moves: "Skulls shatter, axes get jammed through clavicles, spines disintegrate..." ~Axes? Ermac perhaps?

X-Ray moves do not have a final name yet.

Hey at least Stryker was memorable. I mean even if people hated him, at least he had SOME kind of impact on the fans, which Rain never did People just like Rain because of what he COULD be, with a lot of fan-wank theories and whatnot. you know what? everything you just said fills me with so much optimism for this game. big storyline changes, kratos not in story, etc. jesus, i cant wait. i can only assume that the 99.99% chance of your favourite character being in MUST mean that somebody isnt in, right? so it must be one of rain, sheeva or one of the bosses (kintaro? motaro?). hopefully, if anyone isnt in, its sheeva.

Whether Armageddon's story was shit or fantastic, it's not the point. What matters is the fact that this game picks up from Armageddon and revolves around Raiden trying to prevent it from happening. Rain had a significant role in that plot and he shouldn't be dropped, no matter how stupid you think he or his story is.

This isn't about liking or not liking Rain, but doing right by the story and keeping a sense of continuity. That's the biggest problem with Mortal Kombat in general. We never give things a chance to develop.

You're acting as if Rain has been in game after game after game and hasn't done anything significant(I'm looking at you SCORPION). He's only been in TWO games- UMK3/MKT and MKA, do you REALLY expect him to become some fully developed character with a complex story in such a limited amount of time?

Point is, his story, no matter how stupid you think it is, is just BEGINNING and it would suck for him to be thrown to the side when Stryker could be the one easily left out. Stryker didn't even have a bio in Armageddon for fuck sakes. Are you kidding me?
