There's like no strategy for Shang Tsung against a spamming Tackle Noob Saibot player. You jump close enough, you'll get anti aired. You jump close enough and managed to block because you think he's going to throw another Tackle, you'll get grabbed. Trading fireballs is the dumbest thing to do against that because Noob has just enough recovery to get up and spam again, and I'm sure it does more damage than Shang's projectiles. And if you're gonna trade fireballs against a Noob Tackle, not only Shang's projectiles has a slow start up but it'll leave you obvious for a Noob Teleport Slam.

This doesn't sound like Noob spam, this sounds like being outplayed. Sounds like Noob knows what you're doing before you do. That happens. Unfortunately, you need to step it up. Its not Noob thats the problem here. A lot of people don't know that after you get hit by a tackle, you pretty much have to block the next one. However, after that the situation is reset. In any event, here's three possible solutions.

1. Predict the tackle. If you're being outplayed, you're being outplayed. It happens. And the tackle is a great tool for it. However, its not fast enough for him to just throw one and do whatever "on reaction". They just aren't. It may seem that way because your instinct is to jump or try and fireball him back, but Noob has to commit to either throwing another one or anti airing before you make your choice. Granted, this may require you to jump "knowing" that a tackle is coming, and maybe he won't and you'll get anti aired, but then you know next time not to jump and you can just dash in through the front door.

2. Block dash. Block a tackle, then dash. Repeat. This is a shitty strategy and you are going to eat about 5 tackles worth of chip getting in this way, but you can EASILY block a tackle cover about a 6th of the screen in distance, before he throws another. Also, if you convince your opponent you're stupid enough to actually try this regularly you can eventually get a surprise jump in because he'll just keep throwing them.

3. Trade. Nobody likes to lose life, but sometimes its necessary. Take it from me, I'm a Jax / Sheeva player. Tis true, Shang has a shitty time trading with Noob (or anybody whose got good long range like stryker or Sektor) BUT you eat 3 maybe 4 tackles and you have a bar of Super. At that point, trade a tackle for an EX Ground Fire. Take that trade all day. It won't give you great advantage or anything, but it will do great damage (compared to the one shadow you took) and it will bring Noob right to your doorstep. Then its your job to keep him from getting back out.

Bear in mind, Noob is a zoning character. This is what he does because his up close game is questionable in many regards. If the Shadow Tackle / Slide / Anti-Air mix up wasn't good, he would be worthless. A good Noob knows where to put you, and when to use which move to punish anything stupid you do. What you need to do is slow your game down, do some good old fashioned blocking and moving and start punishing him for bad guesses.

I don't know if you're 360 or PS3, but my gamertag is trufenix and my dojo is always open.

Any combo above 30% is rediculous... Takes the fun out of playing when you continuously bounce off invisible walls and measly jabs and pray you have a breaker bar

I wish I could help you, I'm 360 only. But I'm sure there's plenty of ps3 guys in the strategy forum and in the tourney threads on match forum who'd like to spar.

Its been my experience that absolutely NOBODY with a mind to play this game for real is satisfied with the random online populace. The amount of Smoke, Scorpion, and Raiden stupidity going on in chat rooms is infuriating. Everyone is looking for someone competent to play, even if they suck. But if you want advice on anything, I got no problem talking shop.

I think a good idea to incorporate with MK's patch would be to introduce a new mode called "Legend" Mode. This could be a mode where you fight a series of fighters one at a time and the amount of matches you would win you could gain the advantage of the loosing fighter joining your team to where you could build an entourage to fight with in this particular mode. I think that could something to implement now or in a future MK.

Can you patch the AI to not see you better than you see yourself while you're invisible?

They should create one massive patch which consolidates everything as opposed to the occasional hotfixes.

I want to see:

Mileena general buff.
Kano Up Ball nerfed majorly.
Kung Lao Cyclone nerfed a little bit.
Skarlet Alternate Costume included. (We know she has one!)
'Game has been desynchronized' fixed!
"Game is no longer available" fixed!
Add the Vignette Videos they told us would be in the game! Blatant lie.
Decrease time it takes to find a Ranked Match
Add Skarlet and her Stats to the Nekropolis
Cyber Sub-Zero finally given an Alernate Costume
Various Fatality glitches involving Raidens Hat and Mileena's Sleeves fixed!
Stop the game giving you Disconnects when it desynchs or becomes unavailable! Seriously this pisses me off! It's out of your control. Esp when your connection is good!

Thats all I can think of right now!

I really hope MK nerfs Kano's Up Ball. it's too hard to punish... they have nerfed those spammable characters like Smoke, Ermac, and Raiden a bit, but they kinda overlooked Kano. lol

The upcoming hotfix adds 2 frames on the start-up and 6 recovery frames to Kano's up-ball.

I think Sub-Zero's Ice Puddle should be changed from d,b+3 into d,b+4 because his freeze projectile is d,f+3. The problem is when you go for his projectile (d,f+3) and your opponent teleports behind you, the game registers (d,b+3) and the ice puddle comes out. Considering that move is slow and my opponent just teleported next to me, I'm doomed. Subby has no moves with d,f+4 so it wouldn't interfere with puddle if the puddle was d,b+4.

Also, remove the stupid region lock! furious

well that's good news to me! lol

I hope they either speed up Cyrax/Cyber Sub's teleport or make it so you can't hit them right when they start the move. it's ridiculous... I notice this especially when I perform this as a wake-up attack to escape a projectile

Kabal in my opinion, wouldn't need a buff as I can go an get a positive win/loss ratio with only him. My friend could also as he beat an excellent Shang Tsung. He could use it but he has a really awesome zoning game and I dont want them to f*** with him too much. A great simple, and fair character. Also, Gayno can SmD as him and Spam Nao have a rivalry as who can be a bigger online douche.

I'm not sure if you guys have experienced this online, but some people spam Mileena's crouch 4, especially in the corner. I hope they can slow this move down or speed up the opponent reaction

How awesome would it be to create Cyber characters for each of the male ninjas on the game. Cyrax, Sektor, and Cyber Sub-Zero are all awesome characters. We have seen a form of Cyber Reptile in the challenge tower but it is not an actual Cyber Reptile it is just a different costume. I think if Ed Boon made a Cyber Reptile, Cyber Smoke, and Cyber Rain a lot of people would love to see that. And if he were to ever create a Cyber Scorpion I think that may be the most played character in history.

so people don't worry about win/loss ratio? it sounds good, but I don't know if it can be performed well.. people still play to win, regardless of record

ya, i know what you mean, but that's what ranked games r for. It just gets irritating to see a horrible record, when you lose to lag and spammers. I think with the removal of win/loss count, more people will begin to play for fun and become more relaxed instead of stressing over a certain amount of losses he/she accumulated.

Fix ERMAC, he should about the same damage as Kabal IMO, if he's able to pull crap off that easy and override hits, i.e. your fist is in his face while he is doing a force lift and i doesn't hit him. This game is broken when it comes to that guy. furious Too many glitches have occured while fighting him, he needs to have an extension of recovery frames if you block his moves not
all just a couple ( I'm talking tekken paul pheonix just threw a gut buster and I blocked it recovery time) or a reduction in damage.
