If Brutalities are as they were, very long combos ending with the opponent exploding, then I'm not really interested.
Wouldn't mind seeing the "Mercy" make a comeback.

I don't want them in the sense of UMK3 (or like LiMei's afore mentioned fatality).
I want it to be reinvented. Completely different.
A super fatality in a sense, that is more brutal and harder to pull off.
No more super combos. No more exploding bodies with 3 skulls and 8 rib cages.

I don't really see the point. There's fatalities, for cinematic awesomeness, and the x-ray thing in the actual game, for when you're actually fighting your opponent. That's cool because they feel engaged when you're laying the smack down on them. No need for brutalities in place of fatalities.

Man, the way the fatalities are looking, I think they are brutal and more than satisfying. I don't think Brutalities are even necessary.

I'm with him. IT doesn't have to be punch until you explode, maybe just beat the fuck out of them, topped off with the character's special move that kills them off.
For example: Mileena does dozens and dozens of hits of combos and towards the end she starts using her sais and by the time she's done, the opponent is literally left a bloody MESS... like the fall down and it looks like a hideous crime scene.
I say yes to brutalities. Two fatalities can get old quickly.

No.
The only thing that made them borderline interesting is how damn hard they where to perform. But seriously... they have no entertainment value.
Bring the friendship back! those where awesome! particularly the MK2 ones against the darker tone of the game!!!
Now that this game is one of the gritties and darker 3D games, friendships should be back.
I wouldnt mind a babality back if the baby renders are well done! hahahaa

I think the idea of the brutality was good, I just don't think they ever figured out how to properly pull it off. So I'm going to have to say no on this one. They were all pretty much the same damn thing anyway.
I am just going to make this short. No.
I found them really silly, not that that is a bad thing but we have moved on past people exploding and leaving behind 8 rib cages and 10 legs and 2 hands.
No, leave it where it belongs UMK 3, just like leaving Motor Kombat in MKA.

I wouldn't mind Brutalities ala MK vs DC... where they were sort of... non-fatal fatalities, but I do NOT want MK Trilogy style ones. Those were just boring as hell. Kindof the same flaw as Armageddon's Create A Fatality system, once you've seen one, you've seen them all. /yawn
What I would like to see back, most definately, are Friendships, Babalities & Animalities... I know there alot of people out there who disagree, but I always liked them. The fatalities are still there, and it's not like having additional finishers above and beyond those somehow detracts from your ability to use them. So what if they make the game a little goofier? Big friggin whup. If you don't like them, don't use them. And grow a sense of humor, imo.
But yeah... MKT style Brutalities I can live without... Not because I don't want more types of finisher, just because I think they were god-awful boring.

I do. But no explosions. Just vicious beatdowns. The point of difference would be no "gore" as such, just lots and lots of blunt force trauma, which would add a more realistic vibe. Things like stomping on the opponents head a dozen times, headbutting them in the face repeatedly, smashing their skull into the ground over and over again, mounting them and punching them in the face a few dozen times, maybe jax could slam the opponent on their head over and over again, things like that. Just wailing on the victim until they stop moving. I'd be cool with one brutality like that and one more traditional decapitation or disembowelment sort of fatality for each character.

I say yes to Brutalities, only if they redesign it and not have it like in UMK3 with the opponent exploding with extra body parts are around. It should be performed like how you would do it in UMK3 with a crazy combo and if done correctly they go Ape S**t and brutalize the opponent leaving them in a bloody mess.

I'd be game for brutalities sans the explosion, as well. It'd be an awesome way to finish them, at least a little more realistic

Honestly, no.
With the X Ray moves, I just don't overly think that having them is all that necessary, even if you ignore the old ones that had 7,000 femurs and 8,000 rib cages flrying out afterwards.
I mean, aren't the matches themselves supposed to look pretty brutal with all of the clothing and skin damage and the blood staying on the clothes etc? You add all that up and brutalities almost start to seem reduntant.
I'm open to the idea if they can be done in a new and unique way, but just a big combo that ends in an explosion like before just doesn't seem necessary and given the turn away from the more comedic aspects, beating someone until they explode sounds kinda silly anyways.
