You are entitled to your opinion, but for the sake of this voting setup, I decided 4 would be a decent amount. It's both a good amount to find a decent grasp on what people want, and it's also pretty managable in terms of keeping track and tallying everyone's votes. Having to add 8 votes per poster can get tedious quickly, especially if there's a lot of people that participate. Most polls only give you 1 vote, so I thought 4 was generous. And keep in mind, just because there's 4 votes doesn't mean 5th, 6th, or 7th etc. highest don't matter.
As I said before, based on their MKvsDC planned DLC of packs of 2 people, Quan and Harley, I assume that they will stick with 2 per pack, or possibly a pack of 4. The characters in this game look very detailed, both visually, as well as moves and fatalities wise etc. So I don't see them pumping out 8 characters at least. I would guess we will get 4 characters at least in the span of a few months after launch, with a potential of 4 more much later down the line. Keep in mind, they are also wanting to do possibly fatalities, stages, and outfits as DLC as well, not to mention they have to be working on the next game too, you can't put all your focus on a game that's already out.
So ultimately I think 4 choices is plenty for a poll made to determine who amongst 30 people has the highest demand. And if you feel 8 characters will make it, simply look at who places 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th in the poll.
